Multiple wireless speaker system?

Greetings,
I own a retail store (1200 sq/ft) and would like to setup a wireless speaker system.  What I envision is the ability to stream (iTunes or Pandora, etc) from an iMac to multiple wireless speakers (4-6) throughout the store.  Questions I have;  Is this possible?  If so how is it configured, through Bluetooth, Airplay, Airport?  Any advice on good quality speakers that can accomplish this task is also greatly appreciated.  I am trying to take advantage of my Mac network of iMacs, iphone, ipad without going to a standard in-wall/ceiling receiver system.  Many thanks for the advice!!!

Ok cool so its doable and I was also reading about Airfoil for Pandora and the like.  Next question is about the speakers.  I have done quite a bit of searching but it does not appear that one can purchase Airplay ready 7.1 surround system, true?  Basically what I would like is to position 4-6 smaller bookshelf like speakers around the store.  What Im not interested in is one single standalone speaker.  I want the sound volume to be even throughout the store rather than a booming focal point.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

  • Wireless speaker system for TV

Hello - What do recommend for the purchasing of a wireless speaker system that would hook up to a Samsung flat screen TV? I am completely ignorant in this ffield and appreciate any input/insights. I would guess that 4 speakers would do.
Also - what are the pros/cons for wired vs wireless?
    Thanks,  Bob

Ok, If you're looking for a more casual sound/background music, then there are a few wireless options. The Sonos devices get my recommendation.
If you're trying not to see the speakers, wireless is out of the question. I recommend you consider letting Geek Squad do the install if you're not into getting down and dirty in the attic. A consultation is only $100 and that money goes toward the final project if you decide to make it happen.

  • How can I use a microphone with a wireless speaker system for announcing at a party?

I am trying to use my computer (which is already wirelessly hooked up to my speakers) as a make shift pa system. Is there a way to hook up a microphone to my computer to use it to do a little announcing at a party?

NI-DAQ is not supposed to detect your GPIB and NI-488 software will not detect your daq board. When you installed MAX, was this from a LabVIEW driver install CD that also put a new version of NI-DAQ on your pc. Open MAX and check your currently installed versions of NI-DAQ and NI-488. They should both be listed. If you have a new version of NI-DAQ than 6.1, you can uninstall the newer version and install 6.1.

  • Streaming to a wireless speaker-help

Hi, I have a bose sound touch wireless speaker system which I stream my itunes across from my macbook.
The problem is I have to have my mac on to access my itunes account.
I was wondering if I had itunes match, would I be able to stream from say my iphone (without having to have my macbook on)?
Also, I am assuming that i am just accessing the tunes in the cloud then so I wont need to store all my songs on my iphone as well as on my macbook...or is that a completely wrong?
Any help / advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mark

You could try syncing your music from your itunes onto your phone, then playing it to the bose sound touch through your iphone, there is an app for the bose sound touch systems in the app store.
You cant actually stream music through the iCloud, downloading it from the cloud would be the same as syncing it from your itunes library.
Altough you could stream from iTunes Radio, (if it is avaialble in your country)

  • Remote Speaker Systems

Hello there, I'm trying to find a remote wireless speaker system with transmitter jack from my Teac stereo system that will allow me to listen to CD's etc. 'through the wall'. I do not want to have to run yards of cable to achieve this. Any suggestions as to product and where to acquire it's

This is a firewall issue most likely. I was having the same problem. And I went to my firewall (norton internet security) and disabled it, and it worked.
Then I went in and gave iTunes the permission to do everything and it worked fine as well.
There is an apple support ticket that almost covers it, but brings up UDP as the culprit.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303157
However, my firewall had allowed UDP, so it might be something else that the firewall is blocking.

  • 7.1 speaker system using wifi signal

given that wifi can send a great video signal to a flatscreen, are home theater ampliphiers thinking of making wireless speaker systems that utilize wifi?

its actually a possibility, the problem is it may not be worth the trouble.  For instance: quality would not be nearly as good as a hard wired connection via speaker wire, and just imagine having to search for an SSID everytime one of the speakers won't get signal.

  • How do I send audio from my analog mixer to my wireless speaker?

Ok, really hope someone can help.
I have just purchased a wireless airplay speaker  (audio pro) and have it working fine with my iPhone and iPad.
I have a music room with my decks, mixer and speakers etc up the stairs and want to be able to stream my music from there to my new wireless speaker.
I was told I could do this with an Airport express, so purchased but can't get the music to play. Have I been miss sold this or can it work it this way?
    Decks to mixer
Mixer speaker out using two 3.5mm jacks to a single jack connected to airport express
    Airport express connected to router
I can get the Airport Express to show on my iPhone, but no music through my speaker. I now have two wireless networks, AirOne Airplay and Airport Express.
How do I connect the airport express to my AirOne Airplay network?
Hope this makes sense but any help would be greatly appreciated.

...looks like PC World have told me a lot of rubbish.
    Maybe not.
AirPlay is a networking protocol that runs over TCP/IP on either a wired or wireless network. At least three things are required, as minimum, to stream using AirPlay:
An AirPlay "server." Typically this would be iTunes. However you can stream from other sources using third-party solutions, like Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil.
A network. AirPlay can stream over both wired or wireless networks ... and this network would need to be in-place for the stream to reach the "speaker."
An AirPlay "speaker." Of course, Apple provides these by ways of either the AirPort Express or the Apple TV. However, a number of other manufacturers now provide "AirPlay-Ready" devices as well. Your Audio Pro Air One speaker is an example of one of these.
Do you know of anything that let's you do this, streams from a non airplay system to an airplay wireless speaker?
In addition to being AirPlay-Ready, your Air One is also DLNA-compliant. DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is an alternative solution to AirPlay. So, in this case, this would be the means to stream from non-AirPlay sources to your Air One.
Finally, your Air One has two audio input ports: 1) A digital optical, and 2) An analog line in. You should potentially be able to connect your mixer directly to one of these ports ... bypassing both AirPlay & DLNA.

  • I own a Zen Vison: M and am wanting a speaker system for my player

I know there aren't any docking speaker systems for them yet, and I honestly doubt there will be any real soon.
So what would be the best way to go?
My X girlfriend had an I-Pod (poooo) and she had this speaker system.
    http://www.alteclansing.com/product_details.asp?pID=IM7
Honestly that thing would be the only reason I would go gay for I-Pod.
What would I have to do to get something close to that?
    A dock: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4485
    Speaker System: http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=4097
    Wireless remote?:http://us.creative.com/products/prod...Specifications
The wireless remote confuses me becuase I swear the other night it said it suppotered the Vision: M and now it just says the Vision.
I've also found this, The Player Dock http://us.creative.com/products/prod...5&nav=features
But would it be compatible with the wireless remote?
It's so hard being a creative customer, There aren't any worth while accessories yet.
Anyway, if anyone could help me that would be great.

Hi There,?I just bought my Zen Vision M yesterday and so far I'm very happy with it. I had a Toshiba Gigabeat S30 first but the battery was horrid (seems to be very close to the Zune in design and features etc)?then I swapped for an 80GB Ipod video but there is a massi've problem with the EQ settings wanting to clip passed the digital headroom (google "ipod distortion")?Got The Creative Zen Vision M and I can say the following so far:?The sound output is strong and powers my $200 Sony in ear headphones with clean power even with bass all the way up. It's got a custom 5 band graphic EQ which works well to customise the sound to how you want it (I hate the standard MP3 EQ options of most players)? The sound quality is Very Very Good. (I'm a Hi-Fi freak and a competent home recording engineer)?I can see the screen easily even on a hot bright sunny day outdoors on 50% brightness (Very useful)?I have a couple of MP3's that were converted from WMA's and on some players they dont play but the Creative plays them fine. The use interface is easy to navigate but not quite as good as the Toshiba Gigabeat but looks nicer. The FM radio is great sounding aswell which is a bonus and you can custom name the stations. You can set photos as wallpaper and it comes with 6 player skins to customise the look. Battery seems pretty good. when its not locked the screen goes dimmer instead of turning off completely but the battery still seems to last ok. (if you lock it though it will last even longer.)?I haven't found anything bad about it yet. Toshiba Gigabeat S30? 5/0Apple Ipod Video 80GB? 2/0Creative Zen Vision M?? 0/0 so far?hope this helped.

  • Wireless Speaker Set Up

    Hello,
Recently I purchased a new Laptop (Dell Precision 6700). Prior to this I was using a custom built Shuttle box, which connected to my Logitech x-540 Speakers easily. Now I'd like to connect my speakers either directly or wirelessly to my laptop.
The x-540 speakers have a three cable connection and all the adapters I have come across do not have enough ports... Is there a way to connect my speakers to my laptop?
    Many Thanks!

Hello. Dell has some laptops that support 5.1 surround speakers but the Precision M6700 model is not one of them. It has a 2 channel (stereo) audio system and as such can support stereo speakers or a 2.1 speaker system.
To achieve 2.1 sound, plug the green plug from the Logitech speakers into the headphone jack of the laptop. Do not use the black or orange plugs. You will not hear sound from the rear speakers unless you activate Matrix mode (a button on the remote control).

all the adapters I have come across do not have enough ports...
There is no adapter cable  that can convert 2 channels of audio into 5.1 channels. However you can get a usb sound card that supports 5.1 audio, like this Sound Blaster card.

    or wirelessly
As the speakers do not have wireless technology built into them I don't know how you could make that work without buying a several other pieces of gear.

  • Cisco Wireless Control System need wireless Lan Controller ?

Cisco Wireless Control System need wireless Lan Controller , for Rogue detection

    Hi Joao,
The WCS is used in conjuntion with the WLC (Wireless Lan Controller) for Rogue Detection. It is not a must for this function but more of an add-on :)
The Cisco WCS is an optional network component that works in conjunction with Cisco Aironet Lightweight Access Points, Cisco wireless LAN controllers and the Cisco Wireless Location Appliance.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/index.html
    Overview of WCS
The Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) is a Cisco Unified Wireless Network Solution management tool that adds to the capabilities of the web user interface and command line interface (CLI), moving from individual controllers to a network of controllers. WCS includes the same configuration, performance monitoring, security, fault management, and accounting options used at the controller level and adds a graphical view of multiple controllers and managed access points.
WCS runs on Windows 2003 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4.0 and AS 4.0 servers. On both Windows and Linux, WCS can run as a normal application or as a service, which runs continuously and resumes running after a reboot.
The WCS user interface enables operators to control all permitted Cisco Unified Wireless Network Solution configuration, monitoring, and control functions through Internet Explorer 6.0 or later. Operator permissions are defined by the administrator using the WCS user interface Administration menu, which enables the administrator to manage user accounts and schedule periodic maintenance tasks.
WCS simplifies controller configuration and monitoring while reducing data entry errors with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network Controller autodiscovery algorithm. WCS uses the industry-standard SNMP protocol to communicate with the controllers.

  • Can I link an iPad to bluetooth speakers - for a wireless sound system

    Hi
Can I link an iPad to bluetooth speakers to have a wireless sound system?
    What bluetooth speakers are available?

Yes. Here's a link. Google shows a bunch. Beware though some are just bluetooth linking the left or right speaker and requires you to plug into the not-bluetooth-linked-speaker.

  • Bose wireless speaker lag

I'm having problems with the bluetooth connection between my macbook and Bose wireless speaker. There's a constant lag where the sound stops for a second and then continues right after. Mind you that this happens even when they are right next to each other. I know that the problem is with the macbook because I never had any issues with my dell laptop and the speaker, even at long distances between them. I'm wondering if anyone has had similar issues and knows how to fix this, or would this be something that should be looked at in the store for a possible system issue?

Resetting NVRAM(PRAM) could solve the problem.

  • Is there a way for use airplay on multiple wireless speakers (PartyMode)?

is there a way for iPod/iPad/iPhone to use airplay speakers in multiple wireless speakers zones (like PartyMode)?
    (PartyMode)
on your Computer or Laptop you can shoose in iTunes different speakers zones at the same time.
But this is not possible on a iPod/iPad/iPhone. one ly one speaker zone is possible.
is there a any way to do it the same way as in iTunes on your computer ? ?

The Music/iPod app on iOS devices do NOT support "multiple speaker" option.
As a work around, you can download and install Remote app and setup with iTunes Home Sharing and you can control your iTunes music using your iOS device (iPod touch/iPad/iPhone) to play music to multiple speakers.
