Music from one ipod to another

Since I apparently lost all my music in my music library, and I am planning to buy a new ipod (30g video)how can I move all my songs from my mini to another ipod?

I'm not sure but I think you can re-install iTunes then place the music from your iPod mini into iTunes. Once you get your iPod video, just connect it to your computer and it should download everything from your iTunes into your iPod video smoothly.

No. You can only do it via iTunes or by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Hello, I need help transferring music from one ipod to another? I got a new laptop and now my itunes library does not contain a lot of my music!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
There is more than one way, but to get it all on all devices, connect the first device to iTunes and choose to transfer the music from the device from the file menu. Once everything is in iTunes connect the second device, select the device in the device list, navigate to the music tab and check the content you wish to sync, click apply/sync.

how do i download music from one ipod to another ipod ?

It needs to go through your computer's iTunes library.  If all the songs on the iPods are already in your computer's iTunes library, just sync each iPod as desired from your iTunes library.
If the songs on your iPods are not in your iTunes library, the approach here is to first off-load the song files from the iPods to your computer's hard drive.  Then, add the song files to your iTunes library, so that it is "consolidated" with ALL of your music.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once you have ALL of your music in one iTunes library on your computer, sync your iPods as desired.

You cannot copy content directly from one iPod to another. If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store, you have the following options:
    - sync the iPod to your computer, transfer the content to iTunes, and then connect the other iPod and sync from iTunes
    - use iCloud (which requires iOS 5).
    - download the music from from the iTunes Store to the second iPod. See:

  • How do you transfer music from one iPod to another?

How do you transfer all of your music from one iPod to another DIRECTLY from that iPod? Not all of the music on my iPod is in my library so I'm not sure how to transfer it, if it's even possible.

Search for an app that may utilize BlueTooth to do that.

  • HT1495 Can I add music from one iPod to another without losing music on the first ipod

Looking for a way to add music from one iPod to another iPod without losing music on the first iPod ... Please help

iPods are not backups or data transfer tools.
Move the music from the computer where it exists to the computer where you want it.
Then sync the music to the iPod.

The music that is on the one iPod must be stored in an iTunes library first before it can be synced/added to the other one.  You cannot transfer content directly from one iDevice to another.

  • Can you sync music from one iPod to another?

Both are the same model of iPods, but they came from two different computers. They have different libraries. I was wondering if you could transfer songs from one iPod to the other iPod. None of the songs i want to transfer are in the computer's library. The songs are from seperate computers.
I have a PC, in case that hepls any.

No it isn't possible to transfer music from one iPod directly to another. The music needs to be in an iTunes library in order to transfer it to an iPod.
You said the songs came from two different computers and they have different libraries. Then you said +"None of the songs i want to transfer are in the computer's library."+ which seems to contradict what you said originally.
    Care to elaborate?

  • Transfer music from one Ipod to another

I have an I Pod Mini and now also a shuffle. I would like to transfer the songs from the mini to the shuffle on ITunes but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can do that ? Thanks

You can't transfer directly from one iPod to another. If you have songs on the Mini that aren't in iTunes you need to copy them back and update the shuffle from there. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Can you transfer music from one iPod to another (that having one of them set up as a NEW iPod and not signed in with the first) through iTunes on the computer?

My mom has an iPod 2nd gen. I have been using it this whole time until Christmas. I got an iPod 5th gen. We listen to the same type of music and hers is on iTunes on the computer. I want to have my own iPod (set up as new) not set up with her account. But I do not want to re-buy all of the music that is already on her iPod. Is there a way that I can transfer all of her music from iTunes on the computer to my iPod (using the computer). If so, then how? and if not, is there another way that is possible other than logging my iPod in with her account?

Copy the music for the old iPod to his computer by:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
Then sync the new iPod to that computer.
