Music Playlist Bug?
Hi,
I just want to know if something is wrong with my devices (iPod Touch 5 and iPhone 4S). I created my own playlist and shuffle play it. I had a little above 100 songs in that playlist. However, whenever I pause it, open other apps/games and play the music, the playlist "exits" and starting playing randomly songs even not in the playlist. Just today, I am in the 80th "shuffled" song in the playlist, then I decided to play a game (specifically Minion Rush by Gameloft). After exiting the app and opened my music, I noticed that the playlist stops and starts to play from the first "shuffled" song again and it even plays the song outside the playlist. I do not know what went wrong, because before, I haven't experienced it. And by the way, my brother (iPhone 5) also experienced the same thing. Is it just because of the app (i.e. in this case, Minion Rush) itself?

i found out that only some apps causes this bug. So bug is one the app side, not on Apple.

Music Playlist shows video playlists - iPod BUG. IS IT JUST ME?
I have the 160GB ipod classic. I have several video playlists set up (to manage music videos, other movies, etc.). When I select "music" from the main menu, then select "playlists" to pull up my music playlists as set up on iTunes, I see all of my video playlists listed and they show "0 SONGS" under the playlist name, obviously because they are not supposed to have songs and only have videos. When I click on the video playlist from this menu, the ipod hangs on a white screen (forever!) until I press menu to return the music playlist menu... Is it just me or is this one of the many continued bugs that the iPod classic still has even after the 1.0.2 software update?
APPLE - PLEASE FIX THIS BUG WITH THE OTHERS AND RELEASE 1.0.3 SOFTWARE ASAP!!!I did realize that I also have a "music videos" (smart) playlist that shows all music videos. Since these have songs in them, they are listed also...

HT6162 7.1: When will Apple fix Music/playlist sync? It's been 7 months since IOS 7 came out
This is a common problem that has been plaguing IOS 7 years from the getgo. When you sync via cable with itunes, my iphone deletes songs I want, adds songs I don't want and makes the newly added songs undeletable. I know all of the hackish "fixes" to this problem but I was really hoping apple would cleanly fix the bugs that are occurring here given this new big update. It doesn't look like this has not happened. I'm writing the community here to see if they are also having the same music problems occuring after 7.1. Hopefully some apple employees will see this as well.
I've had this problem since I got IOS 7 and it drives me crazy. I kept asking friends online if they had the same problem and nobody did.. Then I found several threads online where people were talking about this issue and offering fixes. I tried many fix attempst to no avail, and then I just gave up. Some people are saying that Apple knows about this problem and may be waiting for IOS 8 to release a fix with is total BS. Why would we have to wait that long to fix such an important issue?
I miss the time when I could listen to my music playlists on my phone. Those were the days... -
I have a problem with my iPod touch 5th gen 64GB. When I connect my iPod to my Mac Book Pro laptop my music that I've transferred to my iPod and music playlist will appear in my iTunes my music will play with no problem. Now, when I disconnect my iPod from my computer go into my music, my music playlist and music I've downloaded into my iPod disappears. I reconnect my iPod to my computer, everything shows. Do anyone have a solution I really do appreciate it. Thank You!
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, there seems to be a bug in iOS 8 or iTunes 12.1.1 that cause this problem and I have not seen a solution -

My library randomly skips songs after upgrading to IOS7.3. This is probably not related to Mavericks, as Windows users are complaining about the same issue. I have tried ALL of the suggested fixes, wasting many hours of time needlessly dealing with this issue. The music syncing bug with IOS7 is completely unacceptable.
I have unsynced, re-synced, made a playlist with all of my tracks, done a full restore, and transferred purchases. After it seemingly copies all of my songs over, it still skips random tracks when I shuffle my songs. I then connect to iTunes, go to devices->transfer purchases, it copies the songs that were skipped, and then other songs skip.
THIS IS SOMETHING WHICH USED TO WORK AND NOW IS BROKEN.
There have been threads on this issue since at least October. Why has this not been addressed ? Music playback is a core feature of IOS devices. I have spent quite a bit of money actually buying music from Apple on my phone, and cannot listen to it. Is this just a ploy to force everyone to pay for iTunes Match (which would probably not work anyway?) I have been an Apple user for over 20 years, and this is really disconcerting. I hate to say it, but if Steve Jobs were still around, heads would have rolled over this issue by this point. Cannot see music playlists when trying to update ipod
hello, i've had lots of problems with itunes 7, stuttering music, lock ups etc.- wish i hadn't upgraded!
latest issue is when eventually i updated ipod to 1.2 software and tried to update it i can see playlists for movies and podcasts but not for music.
any ideas how to solve please.
i thinks its bad that apple haven't posted at least a note saying they'll look into these issueshello again,
i know i can use the black arrow to view playlists on my ipod, but there arn't any - i did a restore on this ipod and so it hasn't got any playlists on it now, and i want to get them back on, i only did the restore because i was having the same problem when i upgraded to 1.2 as i'm having now and i hoped restore might solve it but it didn't!
to get playlists back on the ipod i was hoping to open up the music tab on the large ipod menu and select various playlists from the list inside the rectangle as i used to on itunes 6 and the ones before, but the playlists don't show up for me to select to copy to my ipod, the playlists are still in itunes and i can play them on the computer albeit with bad sound quality since upgrade.
i can see playlists under the movies and podcast tabs and i can copy these to ipod but no music playlists.
as i've said i can copy playlist the long way by dragging the playlist from the grey list on the side of the screen and dropping them on the ipod under devices but this will take days

Is there a way to make a "music" playlist that contains videos? for iCruze
Hello,
I just purchase a 5th generation iPOD video to replace an old 15GB iPOD in my wife's car. The old iPOD has worked wonderfully in my wife's car, playing audio (MP3s) with an iCruze interface to the factory stereo.
In case you haven't heard of iCruze, essentially it has a little box that interfaces to the factory stereo just like a CD changer. I can load up to 10 playlists in my iPOD (labeled 1 - 10), and then I can select them, FF, REW, etc using the factory stereo. There is also a seperate LCD module that plugs into the iCruze that shows the artist and song name from the iPOD.
Although the iCruze is a little quirky, it does a pretty good job by allowing us to select songs I want to use via the factory stereo.
So, I got a great idea. I figured I would create a new playlist with videos, and plug the video cable into the DVD player, and be able to watch DVDs from the iPOD. No more scratched DVDs, no more losing disks, etc.
Anyway, it appears the video playlists don't work with the iCruze. I created 1 playlist with just videos, but the iCruze can't see it. It can see the other 8 that just have music and play them just fine. If I manually select the movie on the iPOD, the video displays on the DVD screen, too, so I am almost there, I think...
So, does anyone know of a way to "trick" my iPOD into making a music playlist that contains videos? I tried renaming an MP4 video to MP3, but iTunes said it couldn't play the file.
Any suggestions would be welcome...Playlists are shown under Music > Playlists or within the sidebar. Click once on a playlist name to select it and click again to start editing the text of the name, the text will become higlighted with the cursor flashing at the right hand end. It's not part of the edit playlist rules dialog, or a menu option.

How do I make a music playlist in adobe edge
im trying to make a music playlist in adobe edge. The playlist must have multiple buttons that when you press the different buttons they play different songs. Could some one

Argh. So irritating how something that should be very simple and intuitive results in useless calls to Sprint (my carrier) and BB. with endless holds, transfers, pasing the buck,and still no results. Then I'm suggested to go to the Forums...you know...where other paying BB customers can try tp provide the IT support that BB apparetnly could care less to do for its paying customers?
Anyway, I want to have multiple playlists in my BB Music so that when I host parties, I can play a particular type of music by selecting one of the playlists. I was able to move songs to my BB but they only seem to move to the general Music Library (All Songs). I was able to create Playlists, but it seems you can only move songs to the Playlist ONE AT A TIME. There is apparently no way to select multiple songs to go to a playlist? No way to move an entire folder of music from my PC to my BB songs, as its own separate sub-folder (i.e., Playlist)?
I know I've been able to do this with other devices in the past.
Otherwise the BB Music Playlist options seems totally pointless.

You can try to delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

I already checked the Allow All Movies but still the videos does'nt appear. What should I do?

The task-pane completely disappeared. My local apple technic-centre messed about with disk utility for a bit and than told me to reinstall leopard. I could of course do that, but it seems to me that reinstalling Leopard just to fix iCal events is a bit invasive.
I tried also tried removing everything, installing a new copy of iCal from the leopard-cd, software updates, all to no avail.
At the moment I'm open to all suggestions that do not include a complete leopard reinstall. -

I have uploaded an old itunes library by mistake - any way that I can go back to my previous library. Unable to do a system restore and I don't know where to find an up to date music/playlist file. I was originally trying to recover a playlist that vanished after I had updated one of the ipads, did an online search, followed the instructions only to discover that I had loaded an itunes library from 2 years ago. See Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash. Hopefully you have a more recent library file that you can restore.

How do I get my music playlists back after the new update?
After the new iTunes Update this week, the update deleted my personalized music playlists, went back to the default playlists, and all the albums I deleted doubles of songs are all back since the new update! Is there a way to fix this or am I going to have to go back through and reorganize my entire library by hand again? It still shows up on correct on my iPhone, it's just on my mac that I'm having the issue.
P.s. iTunes comment: I don't like how if an album has multiple artists on different songs, iTunes separates the album's songs and shows them separated in the Albums list. I have an album to listen to the ALBUM, not separated by artists. Is there a setting or something to change that?Always back up your computer before installing updates. You may need to rebuild it with a pre-update library file. Details really depend upon exactly what you lost.

Quick answer: Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085#17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields. If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty. -
After upgrade my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 my music playlist unable to auto play while I plug in to my car device. Out of order Music Playlists on Apple TV (2nd generation)
When I view my music playlists and select one playlist, the songs in that playlist appear out of their original order as if shuffled. However, in iTunes on the MacBook they appear in the proper order. Anyone know what's up?
I did find a work-around posted here. If you hit the play button with a playlist highlighted it will play the tracks in the created order rather than alphabetically. Once you have opened a playlist with select, it will only play them in alpha order. Of course you can select an individual track to play as well.
