Music stops in Safari?

x_X music keeps stopping when I am in Safari whilst I'm browsing, the typing sound also starts playing when the music stops [[in the earphones]] also when I double ta the home key to get it back in it takes forever and I have that 1.1.2 thing

In my opinion, the previous ipods haven't seemed as "buggy" as the ipod touch, but you have to remember that they pretty much had only one task to handle at a time - playing music. No excuse though, I would think that the touch has the ability to do other things while playing music, and hopefully they will fix it so that it works more reliably.

  • Music stops when Safari opens

I downloaded iOS6 for my ipad & am now having trouble listening to music when Safari is open. I put on music (through the iPad's 'music' app), open Safari, and the song continues to play for a few seconds and then stops. I don't remember this ever happening prior to iOS6. Ironically, I can play music and use Chrome ...
    Any ideas?

Click the green button in the top left corner of the window to resize it. If you can't reach the button, drag the window to the right by its title bar. You can further resize by dragging any of the edges or corners. Once you've resized the window, Safari should remember the size.

  • How do I get music to stop in Safari from a website that has been closed?

I have played a mahjong game in www.mahjonggames.com which has accompanying music, using my Safari browser.  When I close the site, the music doesn't stop.  I have cleared the caches and that didn't help.  Any suggestions?

If you haven't had any luck yet, try this:
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Music stops playing when I open Safari

Every time I open Safari, my music stops playing. Why does this happen? & please dont tell me to reset anything...

That doesn't make any sense. Isn't that the whole purpose of the multitasking feature, why would it close?

  • Music stops when accessing Safari

So yesterday night, I had trouble getting my music to play while browsing Safari on my newly bought 4S. I was just playing an album, and everytime I tried to open Safari, the music would stop. After trying a few times, it went back to normal, where I could listen to my music while browsing Safari. What could have been the problem?

It seems to have to do with if the we page has media content on it or not. I've had a similar experience on the Verge on the iPhone 5 review page, for example, because it has videos on the page. The problem is that the audio switch from Music app to QuickTime player continues even when the QuickTime application is not running/streaming. So, it will just sound blank and continue to switch the music 'off' into its static pauses mode while it awaits the content that is not currently playing.
    Please fix this Apple.

  • Unexpected program closures - music stops, Safari quits

Four times now I've had either Safari quit on me or the iPod function on my iPhone suddenly stop. Once the music stopped when I was doing something else (Web browsing), once it was just playing. Safari's also quit twice. What it does is simply go to black and then show me the main menu. On either the iPod or the browser, returning to the program lands me either on a random page I'd accessed at some point in the past, or a music menu that wasn't where I'd left it.
    Any idea what's going on?

While it won't fix the problem as it is a known bug many are hoping they fix on the next update, the information in that thread can help lessen the problem as well as other issues you may encounter.

  • Music stops in tabs

If I am on a website listening to music and I open a new tab and surf around, the music on the first tab stops until I go back to that tab. This is annoying. Anyone know what to do?
    Thanks
    -Matt

Yep - I get just the same thing. pandora.com however carries right on with the music ( as do many others ).
If you run youtube in a separate window, then it's fine ( for me ) even browsing a dozen tabs in another safari window. If the youtube window is minimized, then music stops.
Apple-N on your keyb will open a new empty window. Check out the shortcuts for links in Safari-preferences-Tabs. You can also ctrl-click( or R click ) a link & choose 'open link in a new window.

  • My music stops out of nowhere

I posted this on the music/video forum but it seems kinda dead over there, so maybe you all can help me out.
Okay, so this is really frustrating me.
I'm on my couch listening to my music and browsing the web on Safari with my iPhone but my music keeps stopping. It'll play a few songs or sometimes only one song continuously and out of nowhere it'll cut off a song for no apparent reason. I didn't press stop, pause or anything. I tried putting it on shuffle to see if that would provide me some continuous music, but no luck. It's frustrating to have to stop what I am doing on Safari, go into the iPod menu, pick a song to only have it happen again. I haven't messed with the timings on any of my songs.
    Any ideas?

I have the same problem. After reading most of the proposed solutions I did what I could. I have 982 mb free, but it still will just stop a song right in the middle. So far it's only done it in safari, but its done it a few times already. Twice, in addition to stopping the music, it just shut down safari and took me back to the home screen, as if I'd hit the home button. I just returned an ipod touch for this because of the screen problems, and have to say that this didn't happen to me ONCE on the ipod touch, and freeing up some data DID seem to give me more time before the music stopped.
I hope this is a problem that can be fixed with another update. I'm having a hard time shaving any more music off of my playlist. I'm running the ipod audio along for a couple hours straight to see if the memory can fill up like that.
So at the moment its my opinion that just the more free memory the better. I had no problems on my touch because I only have 9gb of media on a 16gb (14.7gb) drive. I'll probably clear about 3 gb on here and test it again and let you all know how it turns out.
A bit disappointed that I have to stress test these products so I can be sure they're functioning properly while I'm still in the warranty.
    Thanks

    3. Tap the minus sign to close App
    4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo

  • Intro music stops short of my settings

I set my intro Duration to be 2:11 (the length of the song I chose). when I preview my project, the music and intro thumbnails just keep playing as they should, but the burned DVD plays for about a second or 2 then stops.
please, so that I don't make another coaster, any ideas how to make the burned thing be like the created thing?

  • My music stops playing!!!!!!!?

I have had my Ipod 20gb for about 5 monthes or so. Last week, when I was using shuffle, I hit next track to change the song. The next song came on teh screen but never started to play, it was just stuck, then it went over to the next song by itself, then the next song, and it wouldnt stop and nothing played. I restarted the ipod and everything was okay. Since then it has become a frequent problem. Is my hard drive failing?

  • My music stops sometimes

I saw some posts like my problem. But i think thi smusic problem is not related with safari/wifi etc..My music stops after nearly 8-10seconds..Its continuing on screen but no sound on both headphone and ringer..Also this problem doest occur always..its completely randon imo..btw i bought my iphone 11days ago..all ideas appreciated..

i have the same sort of problem with my swiss iphone. Music that I imported from CDs into iTunes or got from friends play fine on my nano or mac laptop but on the iPhone they will start to "skip" when played as part of a play list. it is random where it skips and sometimes they play OK. if I start a playlist and don't touch anything then it might be OK. I bought my phone here and am going to the support people Sat to ask about it. I have done a full restore on the phone and have the latest software. songs purchased on iTunes so far have no problem.

  • How do I stop iPhone Safari from dynamically resizing the visual viewport?

Sorry I post this here, but I couldn't access the developer forums (no error given, it just keeps returning me to this page https://developer.apple.com/devforums/) I'm not even sure wether that's been moved here and it's just the redirection non working.
I need to Stop iPhone Safari from dynamically resizing the visual viewport, or in other words, to stop it from trying to "fit" the layout into the viewport.
    Why?
Because any recalculation javascript does on absolutely positioned elements makes the whole site super IRRESPONSIVE.
I don't know wether the issue is the element going out the already-set layout viewport (which triggers the page resizing to fit the visual viewport) or just the calculations being made constantly, but I can stop the calculations from happening when not "touching" the screen, but I need a way to stop the page resizing.
I tried setting the viewport width to 1040px, as my layout width, and it fixed the header's width being narrower than the body (or shifted left?), but the whole page is still resized with every motion-frame (one every 3 seconds, due to overloading the redrawing engine)
Is there a way to prevent that?

No, that link doesn't solve it. It just says the same is found everywhere online.
There's probably no way to do it, as per their way they "accidentally" omitted the oposite case: the page being wider than 980. They only mention what to do if the site is narrower. Something I learned is big companies (with reputation management) could let you run in circles for years no answer rather than telling you something is not possible.
I'm the developer (can't access the dev forums, don't know why) and I DID setup the viewport, scale and other properties but none of them stopped from re-fitting the new re-sized layout in the viewport. They just ensure the "initial" view.
I think the feature I'm looking for must be achieved with some JavaScript function targeting Safari-proprietary variable/property… if even possible.
I just had to make things never reaching the edge until somebody contributes something useful

  • Using RMBP in clamshell mode w/ Remote App music stops

    Hi,
I've got my MacBook Pro connected to the internal DAC in my Peachtree Audio nova125 integrated stereo amplifier via USB. This allows me play music in iTunes on my MacBook Pro via my stereo speakers.
    Excellent, but there's a problem...
I keep the MacBook Pro closed (I.e. It's running in clamshell mode) and use the Apple Remote app from my iPad to access my iTunes library and play music on the MacBook Pro.
This works great for about 20 seconds and then the music stops.
If I stay in the Remote App on the iPad I observe the screen refresh when the music stops, like the Remote App is re-connecting to iTunes. If I close the Remote app or switch to a different iPad app the same thing happens... The music keeps going for about 20 seconds and then stops.
After the music stops, when the Remote app screen refreshes if I left the the Remote app open, or when I re-open the Remote app if I closed it or switched to a different iPad app... The screens comes back with the same view of my iTunes library it had before, with the same song selected and paused at the same spot it stopped at.
If I then press play the music starts again and the cycle repeats.
    Why?
    This is clearly a flaw.
I want the music to keep playing until I go back into the Remote App (or open the MacBook Pro and go to iTunes directly) and stop it.
Any insights as to why this is happening and how to make it work properly would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

As you can see no one has provided any info here, but I'll post what I've learned in the hopes it may help you.
Short answer: According to a local Apple Store genius, Apple does not support running a RMBP w Mavericks in clamshell mode unless the RMBP is connected to an external display.
    Other info:
-I tried selecting the "Prevent App Nap" checkbox in iTunes.app>Get Info, but this doesn't make it work.
-I also Googled some info that stated there's a 3rd party app available you could install that might/should make it work, but it sounded like an inelegant solution so I didn't try it and don't have any more info on that.
-Now I either plug the RMBP into my TV via HDMI if I want to run it in clamshell, or if I don't mind leaving the RMBP open I just turn on the iTunes visualizer in full screen mode.
    I hope this helps.
