MuVo TX FM Prob

Newbie here, just got the MuVo a couple of days ago. Everything was great for the first couple of days but I just added a bunch of songs, now when I turn it on all it says is MuVo TX FM on the screen. Usually it goes right into the last song I was playing. It won't even turn off and none of the other buttons are doing anything either. It seems to be frozen. Any ideas what is wrong and what I can do? Thanks in advance for any help.

After being frozen for about 5-20 mins it finally just started playing and it has been fine ever since. I have turned it off and on several times since then without any more freezing up. Hopefully it was just a one time thing. I will do the firmware upgrade anyways. Thanks to everyone for their reponses.

I would try reinstalling the firmware then.

  • Muvo² 4GB dead (prob. HDD problems :(

My Muvo? 4GB MP3-player has stoped working properly.
I experienced some freezing of the player.
By cutting the power, and restart, the player would function again.
I decided to update the firmware to the newest one, to see if that would help.
One day later the player completly failed. If you start normal, the player gets frozen at the MuVo? display. Booting in recovery mode works, but al option will eventually cause the player to freeze (except reboot).
I guess it's something with the HDD, offcourse it did fall sometimes, but not just before it stopped working properly.
I've bought it in June 2004, so i guess the warranty period is over.
    What should I do?
Just open the thing, warranty period is over, so no harm done, I guess?
    Please help me out

I'll open it and have a look.
I've seen some guides on inet for replacing HD with flashcard.
I think i'm gonna try that, if nothing else works.
Still pretty fast for the HD to fail... although I got a a lot of music hours outta this one

  • MP3 newbie - MuVo N200 Micro prob

Hello. I'm new to MP3 players and got my N200 Micro at the weekend. When I first listened to the radio, that was fine, I could scroll through the other settings, and I copied some tracks straight from my CD player using line out without problem. However, despite setting up the software and disconnecting the N200 as instructed, tracks transferred from my pc don't copy properly - they stick at 0.00... and when I listen, I just hear clicking.
The really worrying thing is that I've now lost all the functions - scroll doesn't work - and player won't even turn off unless I remove the battery!
I've only used this once - for about hour - and I followed the instructions so I'm at a loss to know what's gone wrong. Have I got a duff machine? Is there something I can do, or should I get a refund?
    Help!
    ChrisC

Thanks for the suggestion. Despite getting a message saying I already have this version, I've reloaded from the fw update link posted on this site. All I'm getting is the MuVo blue screen for approx minute and now the display reads 00.00.00 EN002 MP3 - pressing Scroll doesn't call up any options, eg Radio, and I still can't turn it off other than by removing the battery.
I'd be v grateful if you can suggest anything - otherwise I'll be asking Amazon for a refund PDQ.
    Thanks.

  • MuVo TX SE 1GB formatting prob

I've been reading a lot of questions and answers, but I still couldn't find my question, so I post it here... I have a problem with my MP3 Player. I have a <I>MuVo TX SE</I> from <I>Creative</I>. (GB) I can not format my MP3 Player anymore. I can start up the progres, but afterwards it gives a system error or nothing on my computer works anymore. When I plug it out, the computer is functioning normal again. I also tried to format my MP3 Player with the program that goes with this MP3 Player. But again, the same problem. When I want to add music to my MP3 Player, I get the message I have to format it first. Eventhough I have an empty screen when I look at the file list. I hope someone can help me.... And that I made the problem clear for the one that can perhaps solve it. Thank you!

I dont really understand what you mean. I'm not a real expert in these kind of things. Also my MediaSource Organizer isn't working properly. It gives a messages that my PC Music Library is corrupted. And I didn't even have used it yet. I feel the problem lies with my MP3 Player. That something it damaged in it.. I wonder if there a more people with this problem. I've had this MP3 Player for about a year now. And now it's having problems.Kind of a bummer actually...

  • Muvo NX prob

I am having a bit of a problem with my Muvo NX. It's been working great for about 6 months now, but yesterday when I was moving some files onto it, it stopped mid-transfer. I tried to restart the transfer but it froze again. I tried to delete the files in question and it froze again. I reformatted the player, tried with some other files, but came up with the same result. It seems to fill up at about ~30MB (its a 256MB unit). It seems to have no problem accessing the files in the first half of memory. Any recommendations are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

() Stated MB capacities are always approximate, especially because of the differing uses of powers (some say ,024, others says ,000) as well as formatting, storage for player-related files, and other issues.
    (2) You may also have filled your root directory (about 30 files); sometimes the error message when this happens is along the lines of "disk full". Create some directories and move your files into them.
    (3) And the ".trash" folder probably was trash.

  • MuVo TX FM memory prob

HELP! I just bought a Muvo 52mb TX FM. I converted my mp3's to WMA format to reduce the size so it can play more songs. When I tried to load 480mb worth of WMA music I was only able to move 228mb worth. Properties show I still have 267mb of free space but I get an error when adding even more file. Since then I loaded the lastest firmware and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi, Did you just transfer them straight in as files, not in folders or anything? - if it works in the same way as my Muvo N200, (from the product specs I think it does) there's a limit to how many files you put in the root directory like that. You have to put them in folders first and then transfer the folders onto the player as if they were files. This can either be done just by copy and paste of folders into your 'muvo tx fm media explorer' directory in 'my computer' (just like the media explorer window was for a floppy disc), or folders can be created in media source. There's a step by step explanation of how to do this (with pictures) here.
Folders are really useful for organization too, as you call name them things like 'rock' or 'classical' etc. and then sort your tracks, or give them album names!
Of course if you've already done this, or your muvo works differently to mine, this will be no use to you, but just in case...

  • MuVo TX FM radio prob

    Hi!
I have a muvo tx fm (256mb) player which was bought in France.
For a while the fm radio worked just fine. Then the player started to freeze if I try to tune to any station.
Out of approximately 0 attempts I can get the radio work only once. But even if it turns on I still can't tune to any frequency, the player just freezes again.
The only thing I can do after it freezes is to disconnect it from the battery and reconnect again.
I have the firmware version .00.04.
I tried the latest firmware .3.03 but with it the player stops responding right after I switch the radio on. So i downgraded back to the original firmware.
Anyway i still can't get the radio working.
    thnx and regards,

  • Creative Muvo TX FM and Yahoo Music prob

We bought both our daughters a Muvo TX FM for Christmas. We joined Yahoo Music and are trying to transfer songs to the device. We keep getting an error about the license not being valid. Could you tell me if there is a way to fix this?
Also, what music download sites are compatible with the TX FM?
    Thanks,
    Krista

If it's a Subscription/monthly fee type service then the MuVo players aren't compatible.
If it is just a Download service then they should work. How are you transferring the files to your player You need to use Creative MediaSource, Media Explorer or Windows Media Player for DRM (protected) music.

  • Muvo TX FM - Very odd sound quality prob

My Muvo is 2,5 years old. After last weekend it started to function oddly. Allmost everything works very well. The only problem is that when playing songs that includes singing, I can't hear the singing. Everything else sounds good. I can hear guitars, keyboards, drums, flutes ect. but singing always suppresses out in every song. It's like listening karaoke songs. I have tried formatting the device. I have updated firmwares. I have changed the battery. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Earphones are OK, so are the equalizer settings.
Strange thing is that the songs on the mp3-player sound fine when played over the computer.
Do you think formatting is an option?

  • MuVo TX FM and Debian Linux Prob

I have bought a "MuVo TX FM" last week. I am using debian linux 3.0 r4 as operating system.
Copying mp3's from linux to the player is fine. But after copying, when i turn on the player, it hangs when showing the message "MuVo TX FM" and i can do nothing not even can't turn off.
Can anyone tell me, what is the problem and what can i do for this problem ?
Note: I know "MuVo TX FM" normally doesn't support linux. Still, i am looking for an workaround.

  • MuVo TX FM Connection to Computer Prob

    Hello,
I am using the windows xp professional with everything updated and have a MuVo TXFM.
A few days ago when I plugged it into my usb the computer automatically detects it. i was able to store new music simply be click and drag. However, today, when I plugged it in, the computer does not detect it. Instead, the player just turned on by itself and started playing music. I have tried on all usb ports on all of my computers and some at my uni'versity. Nothing seemed to work.
Is there anyway to fix that?
    Thanks

Are you pushing the player fully into the USB slot?
The reason I ask is that others have mentioned that the first pins in a USB connector that make contact are the power pins - it looks as if yours is only making the power connection and not the data pins that would trigger the PC into recognising the player.
