We know the success as a community is based on the continual and lively contributions of our valued members. Each member provides special and unique contributions and this is the place we try to highlight members that have stood out during the previous week.
Thread of the Week:
Here's a great thread that explains a few different ways to set up a network.  This thread is a great example of the original poster and a Community Leader working together to quick and efficiently solve an issue.
Post of the Week:
Mardin wrote our Post of the Week- and supplied his own answer!  Mardin was set to leave Verizon and go to another provider and put in a request to have his phone number ported over. However, he changed his mind and decided to stay as a Verizon customer (good choice ) and, unfortunately, found his phone number in limbo.  Find out how he solved this here.
Member of the Week:
Thanks to TNS_2- our new Member of the Week!  Your help in this thread about Quantum speeds and whether or not YouTube is a good gauge of speed is helpful and informative.

Thanks Heather. Your up late.
Sometimes half the issue is figuring out the question. I guess I figured it out.
Justin. You sure are thorough in your explanations and support!
Now I could not get to PJLs explanation. Must be Lithium.
Kudos to all. And to Remodb for such a large number of Kudos. Someone figured out my secrete. Good Ideas really rack up those numbers. People really must want that content.

    Patrick,
Thanks my session verify function was causing the problem and I have removed it temporarily from my authentication scheme.
I am using the "check_timeout" function that was developed a number of years ago as part of a "How To" section in the old HTMLdb days. I knew there was an issue with this routine as the newer versions of the browsers handle cookies differently and I was going to redevelop it at some point. Do you know which part of the function causes the issue?
    Many Thanks,
    Jon

I think Justin's picture should have won this one. Really I am not being modest! If I wanted I could have a Rev. E on one Channel, the first Rev. I on another Channel, the Second Rev. I on the third channel, and the 300N on the forth channel. I think I would need to figure out the overlap and spread them out, just to mess up the Neighbors.
Don't even ask how I ended up with two Rev. I Actiontec routers. The Rev. E I was told to dispose of, but at one time it was fine for a MOCA bridge. Now I have no MOCA.

    Thread of The Week:
First off, happy New Year! Our thread of the week is a relevant one in my opinion because, as the number of new tech gadgets we get grows, we need to find creative ways to ensure our wireless signal hits all areas of the house.  That's the issue the OP faced here- find out how he solved this dilemma and see if his solution will work for you.
    Post of the Week:
Thanks to Hubrisnxs who wrote our Post of the Week here. In his post, he lays out a detailed explanation of why wireless speeds may vary (including pictures!) in your home and how you can maximize your speed. Thanks, Hubrisnxs!

    Interesting...
    My Beatles - 1 uploaded 11 tracks.
I can second the results for Petra's Unseen Power
    My Pink Floyd - Division Bell uploaded 4 tracks: 1, 3, 10 and 11.
"You Don't Love Me Anymore" matched for me.
The Kinks' - Come Dancing With the Kinks tracks 2, 12 and 16 were uploaded.  1, 3, 9 and 10 matched.  I do not own the rest.
I have lots of unreleased albums and demos so I uploaded nearly half of my library, which I fully expected to have to do.  A few matches / uploads that surprised me:
The handful of ACDC I have matched except for "Thunderstruck".
Green Day's "Waiting" from International Superhits did not match.
All Star United - International Anthems For The Human Race matched 6 out of 11 tracks.  The album is not on iTunes.  3, 6, 7, 9 and 11 were uploaded.
Jackson Browne - The Pretender tracks 1, 2, 3 and 8 were uploaded.
Jackson Browne - World In Motion "I Am A Patriot" had to be uploaded.
"The Living Years" and "Silent Running" from Mike & the Mechanics matched and are not in iTunes.
"Best I Can" from Queensryche's Empire did not match.
"Try Not To Breathe" from R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People did not match.
Tracks 1 and 10 from Bob Seger's Greatest Hits matched; the rest were uploaded.
Slaughter - The Wild Life tracks 1 and 14 were uploaded.
"Two Princes" from Spin Doctors - Pocket Full of Kryptonite was uploaded.
"Ace In The Hole" from George Strait - Strait Out Of The Box was uploaded.
"The Smartest Monkeys" from XTC - Nonsuch was uploaded.
There are others, but those are the most suprising.

Our Thread of the Week discusses what to do if your TV settings keep changing- seemingly by themself! In this instance, DarkDune's FiOS TV keeps switching back to 720p after it's set at 1080i and he can't figure out why. Thanks to everyone who helped solve this issue- including the OP who built upon all the advice given and figured this out!

    Thread of the Week:
Do you remember the days before the Interactive Media Guide- the guide we all refer to when looking to see what's on TV? I use our guide all the time and it's so very frustrating when it's moving slow. It's amazing how long a few seconds can feel when you're waiting for the guide to catch up. Sometimes a slow guide is a sign of a bigger issue with your devices, but more often than not you can solve the issue yourself as shown this thread.
    Post of the Week:
Here's an interesting question for you. Let's say you have multiple FiOS TV set top boxes in your house- can you switch them around or do they have to stay with the TV set they were originally hooked up with? Walt178 knows the answer- find out what it is here.

    Thread of the Week:
Do you live and die by your DVR like I do? With two little kids at home, prime time viewing is often interrupted by cries for the bathroom, a drink or a back rub so I never get to watch TV shows when they actually air. That means that DVR space is at a premium and I don't have time for it to not work properly. That is why I picked a thread that discusses what to do when you delete a TV show from your DVR'd show list, but it still persists on your list. Special thanks to lacticacidtrip for help in this thread!

Our member of the week is tlb for this very helpful, very thorough series of posts about changing email settings in Eudora. tlb battled some issues getting used to working in the Forums, but persevered to supply some great information and help a lot of people as they transitioned their email settings. Thanks so much for all the help, tlb!
By the way- the editing requirements are in place because we found a lot of newbies would come here, ask a question, receive some replies and then come back and change their original post- which made for a very frustrating experience for everyone! Thanks for your understanding!

One of the great mysteries of the Internet is why you can easily access every web site in the world- except the one you really need to get to.  I never knew why that happened- all I knew was that it made me crazy.  That is- that's all I knew until I read through this thread. iPhones purchased in the US are NOT guaranteed to work with 4G bands outside of North America.
For what crazy reason did you purchase an iPhone in the US if you live in Greece?  If your phone needs servicing, it will have to be brought back to the US.  You cannot get that phone serviced in Greece.

  • Verizon has changed the shipping date Galaxy S4 in May 23,2013

I have pre-order Galaxy S4 online since April 25,2013. Today I just check the order status and ti has changed the date from May30,2013 to May 23,2013 now

I read this story yesterday and it made me really happy because I ordered mine on the same day and since it will be available in store the 23rd, I'm hoping the people that pre-ordered it will get it either early or at least the same day because I don't think it would be fair for the ones that ordered online to not get it when others can just go to the store and get it.

  • May 1, 2013 Apple Requiring Retina Apps- iPad DPS Status

I recently read apple is requiring all apps to be retina on May 1, 2013 and am currently creating a multi rendition iPad layout.
I have DPS Single Edition. I am trying to figure out if I build a multi-rendition dps app. Is this considered a retina app?
Or does apple consider the multi rendition 1024 by 768, and would be regected by Apple?
What is the suggested path from Adobe on this issue going forward - forcing you to create retina only with no support for older models? Or to force the purchase of DPS Enterprise to create a Multi-Folio for both sizes?
Thank you I apreciate any feedback!

I have used MSOs with text and PDF images that are exported in vector format. MSOs use also Slideshow Auto Play and Cross Fade so that the MSOs start to change states automatically when page is turned. When I use the app from iPad 4 via Adobe Content Viewer, the MSOs have notable delay in focus. (and since iPad 4 has better performance I am affraid to even think what kind of delay there would be with iPad 1-3...)
If MSO doesn't have Auto Play but instead user triggers state change via Button, there is no delay.
I would really like to use the Auto Play due to better user experience. Does anyone have any advice for me how to achieve this without notable delay?
Is it possible that once the app is available in the App Store and user starts to use the app from the iPad the delay would be shorter? Or even disappear? What I mean is that, does the Adobe Content Viewer have longer delay?

Unmentioned in your post is the outpouring of support for the Funimation channel.  This channels cancellation, due to what is quickly turning out to be a less than factual reason of 'low viewership' from Verizon, has mobilized many of your customers.  In fact, I'm sure that most of the people in your list this week were kudo'ed for posts in 1 of 2 threads:
    Funimation Canceled!
    Save Funimation Petition
If we are to look at the pure numbers, at the time of this writing those 2 threads combined for a total of nearly 950 kudos and 3800+ views.  Even more telling:  198 of the 200 most kudo'ed posts are people SUPPORTING Funimation Channel and against Verizon's decision to cancel the channel.  (http://forums.verizon.com/t5/kudos/leaderboardpage/board-id/FiOS_TV_Entertainment/timerange/one_mont...
IMHO (and no offense to Justin and his very helpful document) either of these 2 would have made a much more appropriate 'Thread of the week'.
