My 2nd generation iPod touch will not connect with the newest version of iTunes (December 2012 update). My computer(windows7) says the device is connected when i plug it in, but it will not show up in iTunes. Can anyone help?

As said in the question, my ipod touch will not connect to the newest version of itunes. When I plug it in, my compter recognizes that a device has been connected, yet it will not show up in itunes. I didn't have this problem until I just updated to the new itunes. Someone help please!

It still could be cable or contacts in the iPod since different contacts/conductor are used for charging and data
