Winston is right. If it seems OK though, I would also add that you should make sure to check it at the same day and time you have tried to download the movie. I had the same thing happen to me and it turned out my speed was fine much of the time but was dropping to like a few hundred kbps from about 7-11 evenings (typically when we were trying to order a movie).

I just bought a second hand iPhone 5, but the sim tray seems to be for a sim sized ~14x8mm, thinner but longer than a nano SIM (~12x9mm). Can anyone explain why, and how to get a SIM to fit?

Backed Up Iphone to itunes and when restoring its looking for a password to restore! None requested or set at original backup. Can anyone help?
I have not restored device so have all my data on it still. Am not pluggin it in for first time, did this originally when setting up phone. I have an option to restore to original backup as well as 'set up as new'. What happens if I chose the 'restore from backup' option.' how do I go about backing it up first - if i right click 'iphone'' option on left hand side under devices the only option is'eject' or 'restore'. I'm not sure that my iphone is being recognised by itunes - should it not give the name of my iphone under devices?

I own an iPad (latest/64 GB/WiFi+3G) that has iOS 6.1.3 . The TED Talks app that was OK till recently now crashes each time it opens. I think this is after a recent update. I removed it from my iPad & re-installed it but its no use. Can anyone help?

Slow ADSL Speed, can anyone help?
Hi, I'm looking to improve our broadband speed as its pretty poor and we live in central London so i’d assume better performance is possible than we currently have.
I’ve had a good look round on the forums to see what others are doing and replicated some of the test others have done.
We are on BTHH 4, the modem is plugged into the master socket via a microfilter, there are no phones plugged in anywhere (we use mobiles) & thats the only socket.
I reset it occasionally to see if this helps, but doesn’t seem to including leaving it alone for a couple of weeks.
Not sure how I find out if I’m on ADSL2 or ADSLmax?
Cant do a quiet line test as I chucked the phone out years ago! (oops) ;-)
When it was installed I reset it quite a few times to try and get it to go quicker, I have subsequently read that may not have been a great idea! I should have given it time to settle.
Anyone got any ideas?

No luck then you should do
A1 .. Load the widget so you know what TM is doing.
A4 .. Reset of TM.
A5.. Verify the backup.
First thing.. though.. do a full network reboot..
Turn off everything.. restart the modem.. wait 2min.
Restart the TC.. wait 2min
Restart the computer. See if it now functions.
You might have to reset or do more severe stuff.. but try with that.

While streaming music from my i-phone 4s, it stops working after 2 miutes and so does music from my i-tunes after about two songs, very frustrating! Have tried allsorts!!!

Insanely slow upload speeds with normal download speeds -- can anyone help?
I have done LOTS of troubleshooting and I'm coming up blank. I've just moved from CA to HI and have a new ISP, but other machines in the house are not having this issue. I'm having a very difficult time figuring out why I can no longer upload files larger than 1 mb without lots of network stalling and eventual timeouts using most upload tools.
Here are the facts:
* It's only the upload speed: downloading is just fine on this machine.
* This machine WAS fine: No problem with uploads from this machine before I moved from CA. I've had it for about a year.
* Not the new cable internet: We also have a brand new Macbook Pro AND a PC using the same modem and connection and neither have trouble with upload speed.
* It's not the tool, the file, or the server I'm trying to upload to: have tried uploading various files, using various web interface tools, to different servers, (flickr uploader, blog upload tool,) including ftp from the command line -- same upload problems. Command line ftp doesn't time out like these other services, but takes a really really long time with lots of stalls (7:13 minutes for 2.1 mb?!)
* File sharing over our network between this machine and the Macbook Pro are lightning fast.
* Behavior is the same using airport OR built-in ethernet (even tried two different ethernet cables)
* Behavior is the same whether I use our internet connection or 'borrow' bandwidth from a neighbor's wireless connection (although I'm pretty sure everyone around here uses the same service?)
It seems to be some strange combination of this machine and my connection? I am stumped and really need to be able to upload files for working remotely!
Any advice would be much appreciated!

EnolaSo after MUCH research and back-and-forth, it appears that my problem here is the upload bandwidth provided by our ISP. They acknowledge there is a problem in our area with upload speed (download speed is excellent) and are apparently working on it. I am still baffled as to why this problem is so much more obvious on my mac mini than my husband's macbook pro, but I'm sure it has to do with all kinds of different variables. We both tried some speedtest sites like the one you mentioned, and we both get crappy upload bandwidth and lots of stalling. At least I know it's not that my machine has something terribly wrong with it. For now, I am making do!
