My backed up files from iphone to my mac cannot be seen as they are, but only numbers and letters, they seem to be encrypted even though I did not click on encrypted when backing up

I am using a Mac Book Air to back up my Iphone 5 on Itunes. What I can see of the files are encrypted even though I did not click on the Encrypt box.
Please, help.

Backups of an iPhone made using iTunes are stored in a format that is only meant for use in a restore and are not meant to be accessed directly. There are other methods of transferring things like photos and contacts to your computer such as iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer, iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ, and https://www.apple.com/icloud/
If you absolutely must directly access an iTunes backup there is 3rd party extraction software available such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

Why does my MacBook Pro sometimes restores its RAM when I open it, even though it did not run out of battery?

Sometimes when I open my MacBook Pro, it restores its RAM, as if it has run out of battery, even though it has not run out of battery and it has been charging. Why does this happen, and should it be happening?

It's similar to hybernation mode in Windows.
If you put your laptop to sleep, after X amount of hours it will move to the "deeper" sleep level (save memory to disk and shut down...), to save up battery.
Otherwise if you left your laptop asleep in the evening, you could wake up to a dead battery. Not a great surprise when you in hurry to leave the house with your laptop...

Just upgraded to the new iPhone 4S, but can't seem to find Siri, even though I did as instructed!

I have just upgraded to Iphone 4S. Very nice and as expected from Apple.
One of the applications I am keen on is Siri, however when I tried to hold the home button, instead of getting Siri, like I thought I was, I got the old voice control screen.
I know that Siri is in Beta, but does that mean it is not on Iphone 4S yet?

I had same problem.
go into settings and under General is an option for Siri, i had to turn it on.

After syncing songs are still showing on my iPhone even though I did not check them in my library. These songs were originally on my iPhone but I no longer want then there.

If the Find My iPhone service is not installed on the device you cannot wipe or locate the device. Sorry to hear about your loss :'(

One day this was happened to me:I deleted some videos that i don't need and after about a month i went to a music concert and i recorded with my iPhone for about 25-30 min and my iphone froze and automacitly restarted after a restart when a went home and i wanted to watch what i had recorded and in my camera roll on my iphone i saw the videos that i deleted about a month ago!!! Get an external hard drive for backup - they are not expensive.

randers4 - I decided to go with the My Contacts Backup app which produced success (I'll know for sure if I need to use the file)
JoFlo57 - I understand that I could use iCloud but I'm a little on the paranoid side about everybody's data in one location... what with hackers getting into Sony's Playstation accounts and other infamous huge hacking security failures I frankly don't feel safe storing anything on iCloud.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

That includes the back of my camera, the pic viewer on my macbook pro, and previews. They even look normal when I first open them in photoshop. I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.

Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.
