My brand new iPad 2 screen just flickered form the game I was playing to black several times very quickly?

I just bought an iPad 2 it's only about 5days old and the screen j flickered to black and back to the game I was playing several times very quickly. I haven't got any apps or watched anything that should cause a virus and I am worried about it any ideas?

Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

HT201250 How do you let time machine know that a restored drive does not need a brand new backup set and just append to the old one?

I had an external drive failure and had to buy a brand new drive. I was able to restore my info onto a new drive, about 1.5 TB of data. When I go to launch time machine now with the new drive connected and my backup connected, it treats the new drive as if it had different data and wants to create a whole new backup set when it should just append. How do I get around this?
I could just reformat the backup drive and start fresh again but would rather not do that if I can avoid it, just in case there were errors in copying etc.

I should have been more clear, sorry. I work from a laptop. I have 2 external drives - one for my projects which failed but has since been replaced and restored from a backup. My 2nd external drive is the time machine backup drive.
When my project drive crashed, I bought a brand new drive and restored it using my time machine backup drive.
Now the data exists on 2 drives - the time machine backup drive, and the new drive. When I connect the backup drive now, it thinks my new drive has new data, probably since it is a new device/drive, and wants to do a brand new backup, when in fact the data already exists on that very drive. It shouldn't have to back up all 1.5 TB when nothing has changed!
Unless there is a way to tell time machine to simply append to the old backup, I think it will try and do a new backup (1.5 TB). I'm thinking maybe I should just initialize my time machine backup drive now and start over so it is only one backup set of 1.5 TB instead of (2) sets of 1.5 TB!

Hi, in my brand new Ipad 2, when i look into the ipod icon (for music, videos, and so on), in "others", there are no voices like "podcast", " itunesU", "books to listen".. how can i do?

when I open the icon "Ipod" or music, the orange one with a note basically, on my brand new Ipad2, if I check in the voice "others", I cannot find podcast, ItunesU,books to listen (audiolibri in italian) and collections; I can see only genres and composers.

i downloaded podcasts from the ipad but I cannot see them any more. I connected my ipad to my mac, synced it and in fact in my itunes (of the mac) i can see what I had downloaded in the ipad...it is quite strange. is there the possibility that podcasts downloaded require some specific software to be seen in the ipad? my ipad has got the latest sw anyway (5.0.1)

Are you trying to send a message to a cell number or an email address? iPad does MMS, not SMS, meaning it can't send a message to a number. It can send a message to an email address........

Which pictures? If you are looking at pictures taken by the iPad's camera, you may actually be looking at electronic noise rather than pixels. This is caused by amplification required for photos taken in low light. If that is what you refer to, it can be improved by turning on more lights.

This should be the responsibility of the reseller to handle. If you opened the iPad in the store and found scratches, you should have refused the unit and made them give you a different one. I would suggest you talk to the store management/owner and calmly and politely insist on an exchange.
If the store refuses to exchange your iPad, you can try calling Apple Malaysia at 1-800 803-638 and asking to speak with someone in Customer Relations, and if you can contact a Customer Relations representative, explain the situation and ask if there's anything he or she can do to help.

Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute)

Brand new iPad fails sync due to "computer no longer authorized"

I have a brand new iPad 64GB that I can't sync to my existing iTunes library. Every time I try, I get an error that says, "The iPad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPad." In iTunes, I go to Store > Authorize This Computer, and that dialog says that my computer is already authorized. Then I try to sync again and end up with the "no longer authorized" error again.
So what is in the default load of a new iPad that iTunes doesn't think I've paid for?
The same iTunes (for Windows, version 11.1.5.5) has no trouble syncing my iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and several Shuffles. So why is it barfing on the iPad?

Actually, they won't replace the screen, they'll replace it. The following is a C&P from the link that I gave you.
"If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below."

The easiest AND quickest way would be to reset the iPad and start over.
Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset.
