Let me also say that this has been functioning this way out of the box...this is not new or a result of cookies or a full cache.

Looking for an information management solution. I have three boys that have brand new ipad mini's. I would like to set them up to manage information the easiest way.
My first thought was to use my apple ID for their apps and purchases. This would give me the advantage of seeing everything downloaded and be able to monitor this closely. The disadvantage to me, was that they would see all of my contracts, my apps, and my music.
My other thought was to create one new apple ID and to share that among the three boys. This way I would not have to worry about my information being on their ipads.
This is a very confusing situation for me. My goal is seperate my stuff from my kids stuff. Appreicate input from anyone who has in-depth experience with this as it applies to apple ID, icloud ID, and any detailed explaination of how to do this would be appreiciated. Thanks.I think I will do this. I will use my apple ID and set face time and message to work independently. That solves one problrem. My other problem and maybe my bigger problem is that if I am using my apple ID, how do I iflter all of this so that my kids don't see my contacts, get my apps, etc. ?

A "brand new" ipad mini 3 came with a photo
Received a "brand new" ipad mini 3 around a week ago. However, it came with a photo in the Photos folder that was taken on November 23, 2014. The photo looks like a screenshot with the QR code along with the ipad model code and the serial number of the ipad. It also says 99% in the photo. Did anybody run into this?
Sounds almost like an internal-use image (given the info that was in the image) that was not deleted or mistakenly taken before packaging. Did you try and scan the QR code (with another device that has the capability) and see what the QR code comes up as? (if it's internal use, it may not come up with anything)
Regardless, that's the first I hear of it. -
I have just bought a brand new Ipad mini and started setting it up. I had updated to os7.4 and after it finshed installing I had to leave it before answering all the set up questions. When I switched it back on it asked me for a pass code which as far as I'm concerned, hasn't been set up yet. Anyone know whats going on!

What is the white horizontal line and red vertical line on my brand new ipad mini?
Bought a brand new ipad mini 2 for my sons Christmas, took it out the box and it was during the set up process, ie entering his iTunes and icloud account, a white horizontal line and a red vertical line appeared on the screen and is there all the time now. Have tried switching off and on and resetting, but it is still there. Any ideas??

So the lines didn't appear until you were into the setup?
Does the orientation of the lines change when you rotate the screen?

My brand new iPad mini won't rotate done factory reset still not working. If I lock and unlock on landscape or portrait it remains in that mode. Any ideas pretty sure I've tried everything suggested such as off/on, reset, reboot, double checked lock off. It did work and I changed wallpaper and stopped motion, not sure if this related
Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. Your iPad will reboot on its own. You will have to enter all of the device settings again, but no data will be lost.
I eould not spend a whole lot more time trying to fix this, if the device is really brand new. I would take it back to where you bought it, bring the box, the charger, the cable and your receipt and if they can't get it fixed, return it and get another one. -
Brand new iPad Mini Retina- dead out of box
Just got a brand new ipad Mini retina and it won't turn on. Have tried all kind of reset button combos and nothing. Any suggestions or is it really dead? Have an appt at Apple Store in the morning, but would love to resolve it before then.
It's possible that its battery is totally dead. Try plugging it in and let it sit for an hour or two and see if there are any signs of life. Even if it does come back, I would still keep that appointment and get it checked out because normally iPads have a charge when you unbox them.

I've taken absolute perfect care of it and its been working fine, but I was just listening to music on it with the charger plugged in, and all of a sudden it just blacks out. I've tried everything including pressing the on/off and home buttons at the same time but nothing works. Please help!!!!!!!!

Brand new iPad Mini Retina won't charge when its connected to my PC
I just opened up my brand new iPad Mini Retina and attempted to plug it into my PC and set it up. The iPad quickly recognizes my PC, briefly displays the charge symbol then immediately displays "not charging." I have attempted to plug the iPad into the wall, and it charges just fine. All the cables I'm using are straight out of the box which I bought right from the Apple Store so I know its not any of those. My laptop is fully charged and also plugged into the wall, so I know its not my computer. I also double checked everything by plugging my iPhone 5 into my computer (with the new iPad lightening cable) and it charges/syncs just fine. Im stumped, please help me fix my brand new iPad Mini Retina.

ps when syncing it jumps through steps 1 - 4 real fast, i seem to remeber iphone showing the number of tracks transferring and names, but i see nothing? then it sits on 5 saying "waiting for changes to be applied"

Read this. As of april 16 any device that uses facetime must be updated to a certain level. So it may be as simple as you or the person you're calling needing to update your device to iOS 7.1.1 -
Brand new iPad mini 32GB LTE (Verizon) purchased on 1/7/13 is constantly crashing while on Safari and other apps. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do besides restoring it and rebooting it as I have already done so. Should i exchange it at the apple store for a new one? Any suggestions? Returning it is a way to go, obviously. Unless that's quick and convenient enough for you, you may try resetting it to factory settings first under Settings -> General -> Reset.
A new setup and sync (not restoring, to avoid the cause of the problem coming over again) might fix it once and forever. -

My brand new ipad mini is slow (retina edition)
My new ipad mini that I just got today from the apple store is slow it has 64-bit A7 processor but it's no faster than an old ipad 2 that I have in my house. What can I do to maybe speed it up or maybe it just hasn't warmed up enough after my 3 hours of being on it.
Have you tried just restarting the iPad mini? My coworker brought his iPad mini in today and it was slow as well. We did a hard reset and it fixed the issue.
