My Categories and sub-categories are now missing
I installed new PSE12 on my Win7x64. I previously had PSE9 installed.
My Categories and sub-categories are now missing? I need to know how to reinstall them and auto attach to my pictures?

So, did you import your pictures in a new catalog in PSE12? That can only restore tags which were specifically 'written to files' in the Organizer.
As a matter of fact, the solution in your case is not an 'import' via the 'get photos and videos... from files or folders'.
It's a catalog conversion, which creates a new PSE12 version from your old one. This is done in the File menu, catalogs... option : the catalog manager. There is a 'convert' button which you use to search and convert catalogs of any older version (shortcut Ctrl Maj C).

Creating a table based on Category and Sub-Categories

I am building an extensive home budget. I have 3 tables showing, monthly, quarterly and annual costs. These tables contain Categories and Sub-Categories. I have created a table and chart to show the percentage of the total costs for each Category. For the two Categories with the largest percentage of the total cost I would like to create a table (and chart, no problem, based on my first template) showing the breakdown of the Sub-Categories. However this information is to be retrieved from 3 tables, and I was hoping to create the table automatically. If not I must individually go to each different table and find the relevant Sub-Category and manually input the text and link the cell for the value to my new table. This gives room for error in my opinion and is a nuisance as my budget file now contains about 8 sheets so even on 27" iMac requires a considerable amount of scrolling around.
Am I expecting too much of Numbers or missing something totally? I do not have much experience of spreadsheets, just basic tables and calculations in Excel before coming over from the Dark Side!

I apologise also for my incorrect terminology - please bear with me on this, unfortunately I never used Excel much so terminology is pretty much my own . I believe that I have one sheet, which then changes into different numbers of pages depending on the page size I set, so with these examples 4 pages. 14 tables and one chart at this time
The tables on the second screenshot were the only way I could figure out how to retrieve the data for the final table and chart (% Total Monthly Expenses)
Now what I want to do is for each (or in fact the three largest) budget categories is to give a breakdown of what in that category is, percentage wise, costing the most. Preferably, I want to get this breakdown category information automatically so that human error is ruled out (that I cannot overlook an entry in the any of the tables in my first example). Perhaps I am asking too much, but I thought it was worth asking!

Why don't my photos appear as they do in iPhoto on my Apple Computer. Even though I specify to sync all Events, Faces, etc. the iPad 2 is missing Faces categories and the Events are in a different order.
1) The best way to relocate the iTunes library folder is to move the entire iTunes folder with all subfolders to the new path, then press and hold down shift as start iTunes and keep holding until prompted to choose a library, then browse to the relocated folder and open the file iTunes Library.itl inside it.
If you've done something different then provide some more details about what is where and I should be able to help.
2) Purchases on the device should automatically transfer to a Purchased on <DeviceName> playlist, but it my depend a bit on whether automatic iCloud downloads are enabled. If there is a cloudy link then the transfer might not happen. You can use File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. In iTunes you should also check out iTunes Store > Quick Links > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer.
3) Backup the device, then immediately restore it. In some cases you need to add a restore as new device into that equation. Obbviously not to be attempted until you're sure all your media is in your library. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device should it be needed.
4) I believe there is complimentary 1 incident 90-day support with hardware purchases, but no free software support for iTunes itself. AppleCare gets you a different level of support.

Does anybody know if Windows 8 is causing a problem with iTunes? Many songs on my old iPod are now missing in my iTunes library and I can't find them anywhere. . Also, I have a new iPod and am afraid of using it for fear of something else going wrong.
Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

Ym computer died and although most things came back when I logged into my account, some audiobooks I have purchased are now missing. Even itunes tells me I have previously purchased them, but I still can't figure a way to download them. Any clues?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.. Copy them from your backup copy of your comptuer. -

I had backed up my phone on iCloud. Later (on 11March '14) I used the application 'contacts duster' to delete/merge nearly 1900 contacts. Today(ie 13 March '14) I updated to iOS 7.1 after which I noticed many contacts are now missing. Is there any way I can now restore my lost contacts? Also, can this be done without a backup computer?

It sounds like some contacts have been lost. I know losing data can be stressful, and it's good that you had a backup in iTunes.
If you receive a message that there is not enough free space to restore the backup, I recommend going through the steps in this article:
If you can't back up or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes - Apple Support
Start with "Copy your backup" and go through the steps including "Free up space."
Note that with this method, any content or data added to your iPhone since making the backup will be removed from the device.

Please help...I want to know how can i get photos from ipad to the computer, that were synchronized previously to ipad but from another pc that i dont have access anymore and these pics are now only found in this ipad and no other place.Hi Alan,
Thanks for the help, but i've actually done that before.
It does not help, because it only shows the photos on the camera roll and do not show the photos synchronized with that pc that i dont have access anymore.
The photos/albums all appear on the ipad, i can see it without problems but i cant get them out of the ipad to save onto pc for backup.
And i reaaly need it, as it is the only place that i actually have these photos now... -
Why did this pop up today?
Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone.Turned on my Mac Pro a few minutes ago and I got the following "POP-UP" message.
" Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone. " ( my iPhone is not new. )
" If you recently signed into "xxxxx iPhone" you can ignore this notification."
On the bottom of this pop-up window is an "OK" button. Well it's NOT "OK" No option is offered if it is not "OK".
I have made no changes to my iPhone whatsoever. Just normal use today. In my iCloud settings everything is turned off except sharing Contacts.
I'd suggest you log on to iCloud.com with your Apple ID, and then go to Settings and look in the "My Devices" settings for anything you don't recognize.
I just did this. All of the devices are iPhones, iPads, and Macintoshes that I own and am familiar with. -

I rec'd an alert that my "Apple ID and phone no. are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone." I am not using iCloud and I don't have a new iPhone. Is this something to worry about?

There are a couple of possibilities that may apply to the email you have received regarding your Apple ID. The first is that the email may be a legitimate warning that your Apple ID has been compromised. For this reason I would suggest that you change the password to your Apple ID as soon as possible. Deleted contacts on my imac and contacts are now missing on my iphone
I noticed that my iphone contacts have automatically appeared on my works imac, so quickly deleted them all today.
I did not know that my imac in work was synced to my icloud account and my iphone. Which has deleted my contacts on my iphone.
I tried to backup my iphone from an earlier backup from my home imac (not icloud) and the contacts are still not appearing.
I can find all the contact data on my imac via my library folder but do not know how to add them back onto my iphone.I have tried that approach.
I have tried to backup from a previous imac backup (not icloud) and still nothing.
I found my contact data files within the source folder on my mac but cannot figure out how to add them to my contact app -
I transferred all of my "Favorites" from Explorer. I have a lot of folders and sub-folders and I would like these to be listed at the top (as in Explorer) with individual bookmarks below. Right now the folders and individual bookmarks are mixed together.
