Yes. you should keep your media in iTunes, and indeed you should also keep a backup of your library as well. if you have the device set up for manual management then the content would remain on it when deleted from the library, but you would have no way to restore the device if there was a problem.

I am trying to use my new iPad air to download iBooks with an iTunes gift card and it keeps telling me that my security question answers are incorrect. I do not understand that because they are the answers I provided when asked those questions! Possibility could have been you had caps lock on entering your security answer either now or when you set it up from the beginning.
Apple will help you out and you will be in good shape.
If you are not into phone calls then try to make an appointment at your local Apple store and they can fix it for you in no time. -

Security question keep saying they are wrong and I know they are right. I can't change them cuz when I try it tells me to answer the questions. I have tried everything changing my account and all and still can't get it can some one please help me out.
Go here and select "Reset your password." You will receive an email message with a link that bypasses the questions. You will then be able to select and answer the questions again.

I am trying to log onto a Mac Mini I haven't used in awhile and I forgot the password. I am trying to reset the password with my apple ID but the computer keeps saying the Apple ID and the password are incorrect whenever I know they are, as I am using the exact same ID right now.
I have switched my password in the past, so my theory is my mac mini thinks that my password has not changed and it will not update because The Wi-Fi password has also changed so it cannot connect to any servers...Does that sound like I am on the right track?

Another reason why the password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. I downloaded the new iOS 5 ....lost most of my apps ..restored them...however the kindle books app does not allow me to open books previously purchased from Amazon...the books are shown in the archive,but will not open when placed in home...a mesage comes up to uninstalll the books from "home' and uninstall the app and reinstall...which i have done to no avail several times...any cure for this?

My ichat buddies always appear offline when i know they are online and I appear offline to them
A couple months ago my ichat was working fine. Then all of a sudden all my buddies appeared offline when I knew for a fact they were online and I appeared offline to them as well. The only solution I have found is to delete each buddy and re-add them again and they magically show up online but after a while, like a couple days, they all appear offline again. I changed the port to 443 and deleted and re-added my jabber account and deleted the ichat.plist but nothing works.

This could be down to the priority that each account and each login can have.
In Messages you can set the Priority that the app (and that account has)
The Earlier iChat apps did not have this setting despite it actually using a Priority.
The iChat versions is set to 25.
This is the same Priority as the web mail page login.
In this case the last login would take the "lead" - you would not always be logged off the other login but the messages sent would go to the last login.
I don't use Jabber enough to say if the 0 in Messages is higher or lower than the 25 in iChat or the web login.
I presume that 0 is in fact null and 25 is the highest that can be set.
Anyway the idea is that you can log in on various devices and use the Priority setting to make one the "first Receiver" if you will.
I have always thought it defaulted to the next device on the next highest priority.
I.e. the Home computer could be left on but a Work computer would have a "higher" priority and take the "lead" and a phone app could be set "higher" still and override thing when you are not at a computer.
I would wonder, based on your comments, whether these Buddies have logins with the same Priorities and when one device logs out the other(s) are not taking over, making them look Off Line.

Trying to fix something else in my settings I accidentally turned my parental controls on. When I tried to disable them it said my password or adminstrative name was wrong when I know they are both right. I even tried to change my password to the account but that didn't help. I don't want to have to delete my account and am not sure how to back everything up if that is the only option. Is there a simple solution to this?
If you have Restricted your MAIN account in the perental controls that may be the reason. You may have to create a new Administrators account to change the settings on the parent controls.

I'm having a huge issue with itunes locating my missing files..and it's too many for me to locate 1 by 1..It says I'm missing over 3,000 songs and They are all in my music folder..What can I do to fix this issue? I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything.
