My com.icloudhelper.exe gets "stuck." How do I fix this?

After loading Mavericks, along with all of the updates, my Mail program would "freeze" upon trying to send mail. I discovered, also, that I couldn't get into iCloud in Preferences.
Somewhere on the internet, I read about opening the Activity Monitor and stopping "com.icloudhelper.exe" This was faster than forcing everything to shut down and re-booting and turning iCloud off then on again. I've not discovered that when it freezes, I can just go and stop com.icloudhelper.exe and it immediately unfreezes without a lot of extra trouble.
My question is why me? How do I make this work without the extra trouble? I kept expecting that a software update would fix it, but to date it has not.

Sorry, the "exe" was just a little extra I'm used to typing. I go to Activity Monitor and under Processes, I stop com.apple.iCloudHelper. It re-starts immediately, my mail gets "unstuck" and it's fine again for a while.

Are you running the 9.0.1 Update of the program and on what computer operating system is it running?
Is your video card/graphics card driver up to date according to the manufacturer of the card?
Is your computer optimized, including maintenance of pile ups of preview files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
What are your project settings and what are the properties of your source media? When you say that "used to be able to export...." is that on the same computer, same brand/model/settings for the camera recording the video now in use, same Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
Where player are you using for the playback of these exports?
Please give us more details on the size of the projects (then and now) as well as details of the customized export settings in your Share/Computer/ route. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is only a 32 bit application running in 32 bit or 64 bit system. Not sure if computer resources might be taxed more so now than before.

Nah... there simply is not iOS 6 Wi-Fi problem with the 4S. I have not experienced any issues and neither has anyone else I know with iPhones.
User's like yourself really should drop the attitude and try some basic troubleshooting.

You may the sort set to Custom. Click the dropdown menu on the toolbar (to the right of the word sort) and change to capture time.

A few days ago, I changed my default browser to Firefox.
This morning I received an email with a link to a web page which came up in Internet Explorer, even though my default browser is now Firefox.
I would like the links to web pages provided in my emails to come up with Firefox instead of Internet Explorer which, I understand, can't be uninstalled since it is intertwined somehow with my Windows XP operating system.

Don't know, how did you hook it up (what kind of cable)? You can send audio through an HDMI connection provided a MacBook Pro is (I believe) from 2009 or newer.
Converting to VGA or DVI will not send audio - if you're using that kind of connection, you'll need to add an audio cable from the headphones port.
Also check the Sound Out setting in the Sounds panel of System Preferences.

Firefox downloads a file with the wrong file extension. How can I fix this?

The title says it all. When I download files, it comes out with the wrong extension, not sure what extension it comes out as.
It actually just comes out as "file."
How can I fix this? Is there something in about:config I can tweak to eliminate this error?

This type of problems are not related with the browser you are using, in this case, Firefox. This issues are the consequence of the way that the website "packed" the file.
What you should do is download the file, locate the file, give right click on the file and select "Rename". Now, don't change the name!!! Just add "." and then the extension that you wanted. Example, you download the file "norwegianwood", after renaming it, it should read "norwegianwood.srt".

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
