My computer crapped out and I lost everything on my hard drive. I have a whole bunch of music I bought from Itunes. Does anyone know how to go about re-downloading this music.

Use the form on this page to request a free redownload, or use the Transfer Purchases feature if applicable. If neither of these works, you will need to purchase the content again to get them back; Apple needs to pay the copyright holders for each download from the iTunes Store other than podcasts, album artwork, and iPod touch/iPhone applications.

2 Macbooks and an Ipad were stolen from my house. When i was out of the house, I had my phone with me.
I always backed everything/synced to my computer AND to icloud.
Now we have a new computer and Ipad and you are telling me I would need to email my 1,600 pictures from my iphone photo albums to myself and reload them to my new computer?
You have got to be kidding me? I also do not understand how I saved all of my albums to my ipad & on the computer and synced to BOTH the computer AND icloud, but those albums are lost, because they were not on my camera roll?
1. I need another solution to getting my photos from my iphone to my imac.
2. How do i recover those albums that were saved to icloud, but I can only "see" the camera roll on icloud.
I know they are there somewhere - here is why:
When I first got my (new) Ipad and had downloaded (what i thought was everything) from icloud, I opened up my photos to show someone a picture that night and low and behold the names of several of my albums were in the photo app, but the pictures were all jumbled up. Almost like it was trying to search and organize, but it just wasn't done...... Example - dog album had pictures of leaves or people, not the dog.
The next day I opened the Ipad & went to photos, no albums, just photo stream, camera roll. Only the pictures that had been taken when we first got the (old) Ipad.
Can anyone provide assistance??

You need to use your backup to put the music back on the computer.

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

Lost iTunes from computer crashing; how do I re-sync my music again

My computer recently was completely "cleaned" because of a multitude of viruses. I had all of my iTunes music on it and all was lost. I have downloaded iTunes again, and have all of my music, etc on my Ipod, but it isn't recognizing it and won't sync it. How can I resolve this?

Just use your backup copy. This is why maintaining a backup is basic.

My computer crashed/froze/died. We reformatted, and I want to reset my library again. I reinstalled iTunes, but everything I read says that I cannot transfer the songs from my mini into a new library. I have to have it saved into a folder on my mini, then copy that into a new computer/folder. Since I wasn't prepared for a total crash, I didn't do that. Is there any way I can save my songs-many that are bought through iTunes?

There's also another method I've seen posted. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer.

I had copypod before which would've worked now, but I don't want to pay for another copy. You should transfer the song files from your iPod to your current computer, add them to the iTunes library, and sync your iPod to that library (after confirming all of those songs are there now).
Any songs purchased from the iTunes Store can be re-downloaded, at no cost, using the Purchased screen in the iTunes Store.
For other songs, you can't transfer from iPod to computer using iTunes. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on "ipod transfer," you should get some links. Add "mac" to the search if you use a Mac.
That would be the safest way to proceed, because you will then have a backup of the iPod's songs on the computer (in case the iPod breaks, gets lost, or needs a "Restore"). However, if you decline to sync when you first connect the iPod, it should get set to "Manually manage music." When it is set that way, you should be able to add new songs to it manually (by dragging songs to it in iTunes). But again, it would be safest to have ALL the songs (on the iPod) in the iTunes library on the computer first.

A couple of weeks ago my computer picked up a virus and went death blue. I have reformatted my hard drives and re-installed everything including latest version of itunes. I have connected my ipod to my computer and it recognizes it but I cannot figure out how to transfer my library from my ipod back to my computer? Any ideas? I hope this makes sense. Any questions? if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
