You need to either sync the iPad with iTunes so it will transfer the purchases to the iTunes library or download them from the purchase history. Then let iTM work on the "new" tracks in the library then all the music will be available on the iPad.

Try this:
Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

Can't sync music from iTunes onto my new iPhone 4s

I got a new iPhone 4s through work and already have 3 iPod touches at home that sync fine on our Win7 laptop with iTunes. When I plug my new phone into my home laptop and try to drag/drop the music over onto my iPhone icon, it just shows a circle with a slash through it and won't let me sync the music.
No explanation is provided - just the "can't sync" icon. Really frustrating and not at all user friendly!

Hi All,
Now I am trying to sync music from itunes onto my iPad, however when I plug it into my itunes, it comes up with a message saying 'Welcome to the new iPad' and says to set my iPad up already as a new iPad. And when I go to file and click devices, it disables me to open it, so therefore I cannot sync nor backup the iPad. Also there is no backup for this iPad already as it is a fairly new iPad, but already has so much content. Is there any other way to transfer the music from my itunes library to my iPad without having to restore it or even erase the iPad?

If you cannot powerup the phone, there would be no way to recover the photos from the device. Have you tried to just connect it to the computer? If the photos are that important, have you considered possibly a 3rd party repair to just fix the screen so you can access the device, or was there more broken than the screen?

How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?

All devices only sync what you select to sync.
If you do not want all of the music, then simply do not select all of the music to sync.

Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. First, is your iTunes account on your computer, the account you set up your iPad with and the one you sync regularly with? If yes, just reconnect your iPad to your computer, via USB and open iTunes. After your iPad syncs, and you see the message that it's OK to disconnect, don't disconnect. Click once on the iPad from the left side of your iTunes screen. This will open your iPad in iTunes. You would then click on Videos and you'll see the TV shows you downloaded. You can choose individual shows, or choose to sync all videos to your iPad. After you've moved what you wanted back, click apply, then sync again and you should be fine.
