My computer has Bitlocker encryption. When I plug in my iPod Shuffle to the USB port, iTunes does not recognize it. When asked to encrpt the Shuffle I say no, but still not recognized. When I encrypt it, still not recognized (even after it was restored by iTunes). Any suggestions please?

What model year is you imac? If it is a newer model year, late 2012, then that model imac does not have a audio input system and yes it is because it only has one audio jack and that is only for output. To successfully connect your musical instruments you will need a usb audio interface system of some type.

Turn the printer off.

Try one of your other USB ports. Be sure to insert it with the plated fingers pointing upwards.

its fixed!! After posting my problem with the FROZEN ipod classic (2007) 80 gb a screen popped up with similar subjects that I did not find in my original search. 'Rich Fleming' in the community posted a suggestion to someone with a similar frozen issue and it WORKED when I tried it.
hold the 'menu' and the 'circle' buttons down at the same time, KEEP the pressed until the apple appears. and now it is working. Hope this helps others.

Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem.

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. Usually takes about 10 seconds time. If still problem. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable.
