My computer was stolen. How do I sync my ipod touch with my new computer without wiping all the music

My laptop was stolen and now when I try to sync my music it wants to wipe my ipod touch 5th generation. How do I get around this ?

There are quite a few third party apps that will copy media from the ipod to the computer. Try searching the cnet downloads site or other reputable sites.
Good luck!

  • HT1329 How can I sync my iPod touch with a new laptop without losing apps, books, and music?

My new laptop is already authorized and I have all my music in the iTunes library. I just need to able to get all my apps on it and I need to be able to sync without anything being deleted. Please help.

Move or copy all the content from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.
    iDevices are NOT backup devices.

  • I want to sync my ipod touch with my new computer. But I don't want to lose any data from my apps.

I want to sync my ipod touch with my new computer. But i don't want to lose any data from my apps. If i erase and sync does it only erase music and videos or does it include apps as well? I specifically don't want to lose any data from Instagram, I don't want to have to start over. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks

Copy everything from your old computer to your new one.

  • After syncing my ipod touch with a new computer, will an icloud backup restore my app data including game progress?

I have an ipod touch which I have USB synced in the past on my Windows Vista laptop.
Now I want to stop USB Syncing with the laptop and USB start syncing instead with my Windows 7 Desktop machine instead.
Both PCs have the latest version of itunes running and I have transferred all purchases from the ipod to the Windows 7 desktop machine.
Home sharing is turned on on both PCs, so now their libraries appear identical.
The ipod has the latest IOS installed, and I have set up automatic icloud back ups for the ipod.
If i USB sync the ipod with the windows 7 desktop PC it warns me that all data will be erased, and replaced with data from that computer. I know that this will mean that all game progress is lost since it is not included in a USB sync backup and virgin copies of all the apps will be loaded onto the ipod.
    My Question is this;
What is the best way to keep the app data intact on the ipod?
Do I simply carry out a USB sync with the Windows 7 desktop PC, let it wipe all the game save info away, and then resore an icloud backup onto the ipod?
Will this result in me being able to sync with the Windows 7 desktop PC and keep my game save data intact?
    Thanks

    Two ways.
    - You can sync with the new computer by following these instructions
Sync Your iOS Device with a New Computer Without Losing Data - How-To Geek
All the apps have to be in the iTunes library so the app data will have a place to go.
    - Or just restore from iCloud backup. That will also pull down the apps from iCloud. Your apps data will also be restored.

  • HT1386 I repeatedly receive an error mesage when trying to sync my ipod touch with my new computer, "some of the items in the itunes library, were not copied to the ipod because you are not authorized for them on this computer."  My computer is authorized

I repeatedly receive an error message when trying to sync my ipod touch with my itunes library with my new computer which reads, "Some of the items in the itunes library were not copied to the ipod because you are not authorized on this computer." However when I try and authorize my computer I always receive the message that this computer is authorized. What am I doing wrong?  I'm missing about 100 songs as a result of this error!!

  • My old computer was stolen, how do I get my ipod touch music on to itunes

I have had my computer stolen with all my music, both itunes purchased and taken from old cd's, but still had my iPod Classic with all music.  Then got new laptop and transfered music from classic to new laptop.  Great.  Then my classic was stolen and my wife replaced it with a Touch.  Transfered all music that would fit to my Touch.  Still had all original music on laptop.  Laptop stolen again.  Now just have what is on Touch and have a new computer and want to put all the music from Touch to iTunes.  Will only take iTunes purchases.  How can I get all my music from Touch to iTunes?

Was your backup copy of your computer stolen as well.
If not, then use that to put everything back.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod touch.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You can buy software to extract the other music.

  • Why can't I sync my iPod touch with a new computer without deleting everything?

I recently got a new laptop, but now when I try to sync my iPod touch, it says "The iPod "Jessica's iPod" could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPod". I have authorized my computer, and when I try to authorize it again it says "This computer is already authorized".

One you sort the Authorization out you have to do the following to lose the content on the iPod

  • How can I sync my iPod Touch to a new computer?

My Laptop's hard drive died: that's bad enough, but my data was backed up onto my iPod Touch, including some very rare tunes that I can't ever get again. I then installed iTunes onto my wife's desktop, but now I'm told that if I want to sync the iPod, I have to delete everything that's on it as the iPod is already synced to another computer - which now doesn't exist.
I thought that backing up my rare music to my iPod made it safe; it was on my hard drive and my iPod. Now I'm told that if I want to sync my iPod to another computer I have to delete its contents. I can't afford to lose the music, because I can't replace it. Surely this can't be right?
Incidentally, because I can't sync my iPod I have missed at least 2 appointments because my calendar isn't updated.
I understand that Apple are worried about data being copied from one computer to another, but surely there must be a way to register a new computer as one to which I should sync?.

  • How do I sync my iPod Touch to a new account without losing playlists?

Hey, everyone. Recently, one of my computers, which I used to sync my iPod to, crashed. Luckily, my music was backed up on another computer, but the playlists, apps, etc. were not. Is there a way for me to download my playlists and such onto this new computer without deleting the music (some of which isn't currently on my iPod; the library is too large for all songs to fit on the iPod)? I'm leaving on a road trip early tomorrow morning and I'd really appreciate it if you all could help me out before then so I can have some great music for the road!
    Maggie
P.S. My iPod is a second-generation, and my computer is a PC with Windows XP. The version of iTunes that I have is pretty new, but my iPod hasn't been updated in a while, if that makes any difference. A quick fix would be awesome because of the previously mentioned time constraints

You can transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - You can transfer non-Tunes purchases by using a thirds-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - You can also redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - You can mov music from one comuter to another by:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    - You will likely lose the playlists but you can move the music to the new computer.
    - After everything is on the new computer you can retain app date and other iPod settings by:
    - Connecting the iPod to the the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod undere Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.

  • How do i sync my iPod touch with my new laptop?

I use to have a dell computer with my itunes library on it. I downloaded music on the dell and synced it to my ipod touch. But, the dell computer crashed and i am unable to access my original itunes library. Now i bought a new macbook pro and would like to sync all of my music from my ipod to my new computer but i am not sure how. Itunes gives me the option to delete all music currently on my ipod or only transfer purchased items from my ipod into my new library...but not all of my songs/movies were purchased or purchased through itunes.

Youll have to find a 3rd party program to pull your stuff off your ipod. I know there are some out there for the pc, not sure about for mac, but Im sure theres got to be. Itunes wont pull stuff off your ipod that you didnt buy from itunes, not even sure itll pull everything ya bought through itunes either.

  • How to synchronise my iPod touch with my new MBP without loosing all info stored in iPod?

Hey everyone!!!... I have been using my desktop iMac since 2 years already. Ever since, I synchronise it with an iPod touch 4gen (64gb).
Recently I bought an iPad and a MacBook Pro retina. I have been reading all manuals and watched some tutorials at the support center from Apple, but it does not makes it clear my following questions:
    1. How to syncronise all 4 items (iMac, MBP, iPod and iPad) with the same information stored in iTunes, Pictures and Videos???
    2. I have an Apple ID, but i can not use it with all 4 devices, right?... should I create 4 different for each and the use the iCloud account?
    3. I also bought a Time Capsule 3TB, but I do not know if this helps or not with this matter.
Thank you all in advance, I am kind of lost with this, and I have them all new in the box, and I can't hardly wait to use them properly!!!
    Best regards!!!
    Oscar.
