My computer will no longer recognize my Creative Zen M:Visio

My computer has suddenly stopped recognizing my Zen when I have it plugged into the computer and so I am no longer able to download to it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my software but that is not working. Does anyone have an idea as to how to get my player to be recognized by my computer when it is connected?!? PLEASE?

First use Rear usb ports. Sometimes the front one are not suppling enough power. Try a diffrent cord if available. Go to the recovery console follow link instructions here? http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ap&thread.id=3? Do a Cleanup>Reboot then try to connect.

  • HT1349 My computer will no longer recognize my iPod. When plugged in iTunes sits at "Verifying Dennis' Books", and iTunes locks up. Thoughts to clear this, anyone?

When connecting my iPod to any of my PCs it hangs up while it is "Verifying Dennis' Books" (the name of my iPod).  The iTunes session shows as not working in a Task Manager. The iPod works okay away from the computer, but I am close to finishing the books on it and need to clean it up to load the next batch.  Any thoughts on how to get past this hang up? It's not like I can reset to factory settings, since I cannot even get far enough to do that effort in iTunes.  HELP!

    - Transfer itunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - You can also redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - When they are in your iTunes library, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.

my phone was working fine, and one day i pluged it into my computer USB as i always do, to check updates, sync, and load pictures on my computer. well a  couple weeks ago, i did this as i did every day prior, and bang it doesnt work. went out and got a new USB charger cable thinking maybe i had damaged wires or somthing, but even then it still didnt work. when i took it to the apple store, they had no issues getting my phone to be recognized. I was also a bit  upset and disappointed that the person who set up the appt for me to go to the apple store (an hour drive). please if you have had hea

Could be a problem with the USB port on your computer. Try a different port.
Also reboot the computer and reset the iPhone. To reset the iPhone press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • MacBook Pro will no longer recognize new SSD via USB

I just received a brand-new 512 GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD from Newegg this morning.
    I own a 15-inch MacBook Pro (Mid-2012) with 16 GB of RAM and a 2.3 GHz Core i7 running Mavericks (10.9.1).
Earlier today, I plugged in the SSD via a third-party USB-to-SATA adapter that I also purchased from Newegg at about the same time. The machine recognized the new drive, and I opened up Disk Utility to format the drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Once that finished, I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone my existing HDD to the SSD. Before it began, the program asked me to create the Recovery HD, so I enabled that option. The rest of the process proceeded smoothly. I quit CCC, ejected the drive, and put it away for the rest of the workday.
When I arrived home tonight, I plugged the SSD back into the Mac in hopes of test-booting it externally. Unfortunately, the machine will no longer recognize that anything is plugged into the Mac. I find it highly unlikely that the USB adapter could be malfunctioning; I unboxed it this morning and it's been mere hours since the successful clone attempt. I also find it hard to believe that the SSD could be broken, either.
I tried to disable rEFIt and manually invoke the boot selection screen, but even when that happens, the drive fails to mount. For the same reason, I can't erase the drive to start over, either. I've tried both USB ports, as well as rebooting with the SSD connected and unconnected.
My research tells me that people often have problems trying to get SSDs to boot when they've been installed in the drive bay, but nothing I've seen suggests anyone's had a problem booting from the external SSD after a successful clone attempt. What am I missing?

I'd start by resetting the SMC. Follow the method for "a battery you should not remove yourself."

I have no experience with Samsung SSD's, but I've read a number of posts here of people having problems with some of them. That could be a possibility.
The other thing you could try at this point is to swap the drives. If it's cloned already and the drive is good, it should boot. That would indicate the enclosure failed after the copy.

  • I downloaded the latest Firefox security update and my computer will no longer access the internet in any fashion, despite the fact that I'm still connected to the internet. Other browsers no longer work either.

Immediately after I downloaded the latest firefox security update my computer will no longer access the internet. I still have a fine wireless connection but Firefox, Internet Explorer, Itunes, and every other program will no longer access the internet, saying there is a connection error. I even tried restoring my system to a previous date but it said that a security program was preventing it from doing so.

What's the security program called? Is it '''Win 7 Security''' by any chance? There's a rogue AV app that will prevent internet access by that name. It comes in many different flavours, but it's basically the same product with different names depending on the operating system its aimed at. See screenshot.
Do you have another computer you can use to download Malwarebytes? Or can you get a friend to download it for you and copy it to a USB drive? Download from here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
You can use the USB drive to transfer the program to your own PC and then install it.

I just updated an iPhone 4 from iOS 7 to iOS 7.1 and my computer/iTunes no longer recognizes the device; what gives? How do I get iTunes to show the device?

With iOS 7, the "call Decline" button is only available when the phone is awake. To decline a call when the phone is asleep, simply tap the On/Off button.

  • HP Photosmart 8250 will no longer recognize photos downloaded from Facebook. Any ideas?

I used to download and print photos from Facebook, but the HP Photosmart 8250 will no longer recognize these files on the SD card.  I believe Facebook recently updated it's photo format (incidentally, older images on Facebook still work fine).  Any ideas?
I'm running Windows XP, and have not changed anything on my setup.

The troubleshooting steps in this document may help resolve the issue of black not printing.  If not see the post here.

  • Iphoto will no longer recognize my camera, says it does not recognize the format....they are jpegs? And now it will not even open when I plug my Canon Eos Camera in to download. I have checked everything on the camera and it is working perfectly....

Iphoto will no longer open when attaching my Canon Eos Camera. I have checked the camera and everything is working perfecty. When I open it myself, Iphoto is working perfectly too. But now when I attach the camera, Iphoto no longer opens at all. Yesterday it did open after a really long wait but it kept saying that it did not recognize the "format" of the images....they were jpegs??? Then it flashed on and off and if I hit download at just the right second they would download. But today it won't work at all. Any suggestions.
    thanks

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Itunes will no longer recognize my phone

I just bought the iPhone 5c. When I plugged it in to my old itunes it synced all of my old music. I wanted to start fresh so i made an icloud account and deleted all of those songs. I then signed on with my new account. After this, itunes will no longer display my phone as a device. I tried everything from reinstalling itunes to checking the Apple Mobile Device services and still nothing. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong so I can get some music?!

    1-reinstall itunes(to last version)
2-reset all setting from settings(on iPhone)
3-change port of usb to your Computer
    was it helpful?

  • Windows XP will not recognize my Creative Zen To

Windows XP Pro w/ Service Pack 2
    Windows Media Player 0
    Creative Zen Touch 40GB w/ Firmware 2..0
For the life of me I cannot get this thing to get recognized by my computer. When I hook up my player to the computer Windows asks for the driver, and I know it shouldn't because the latest firmware with Media Player 0 is supposed to just recognize it. I also tried reformatting my player and that still didn't work. I have tried my player on a different computer and it is recognized just fine.
Help? Thank you.Message Edited by Shinobi28 on 04-24-2006 08:39 PM

You can try this "fixup.zip" file posted by our forum peer DM in this thread. It seems to help some others with connection problem.

You are my new lord and savior.
I nearly punched out my monitor, because it wasn't working again. I then looked in Device Manager and noticed that the player actally came up under "Windows Portable Devices." Before it came up as "Other Device" or something to that effect. Then, from spending days browsing the forums, I remember reading someone who automatically updated the drivers and it worked. Now it works. Thank you.

    What version of iPhoto?

  • TS1398 One IPOD will choose a network for wi-fi and the other IPOD will no longer recognize the same wi-fi in my home, why?

I have an IPOD touch that will no longer connect to my wireless router at home or anywhere else.  The other IPOD touch is still using the router at home.  The last time the IPOD was using a wi-fi was a week ago at a school to text a message.

    - Does the iPod see the network?
    - Is this your problem?
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
    - Any error messages?
    - Reset the iPod . Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • My computer (windows 8) will no longer recognize my iphone

Just recently (last two weeks) when in itunes-it does not recognize that my iphone is connected.  I can here the connection (beep) and it shows up in my hardware panel, so the computer knows its there.  I've reinstalled Itunes, deleted, updated, reinstalled drivers, changed USB wires-what esle can it be.
Its almost as if the Iphone is being told to open in WIndows phone (its tried a couple times, so i deleted windows phone app on laptop) and now it opens the phone as a file...when i right click it doesnt allow me to tell it to "open with" so theres notheing to change....anyone?

Found it..the other sites had me updated the driver, but for some reason it was updating and locating wrong driver.
    To find correct Apple Driver...
Go into Control Panel>Device Manager>Portable Devices> Apple Iphone>right click Iphone and select UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE- From there choose LOCATE ON MY COMPUTER...Important look for this file and update:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
Reopen itunes and reconnect phone to computer-should come up right away.

  • Itunes will no longer recognize my 5th generation ipod

Itunes will not recognize my ipod (running Windows Vista. My sons' iphone does not have a problem so it is probably my ipod.
Out of date software on the ipod, perhaps?

Did this iPod previously work with this computer (and the current Windows installation), and it is no longer working for some reason?  Or is this the first time you are connecting this iPod to this computer?
I would try doing a reset of the iPod while it is connected your computer.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
Even if the iPod's software is out-of-date, it should still be recognized by iTunes.
