  • What type of hard drive do I need for a Creative Zen Vision

    Hey everybody.
I have a Creative Zen Vision:M, and unfortunately after dropping it, the hard drive has decided to pack up!
I have decied to replace the hard dri've, but wondered which hard dri'ves are compatible with the Zen Vision:M? I know the hard drive is a .8" drive, but that's all I know what to look for so far...
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
It uses a standard 2.5" HDD. You can find them around in any good computer shop. You can use larger (capacity) as well. If you wish to find exactly the same one please try:
    (a) Open Device Manager,
    (b) Expand Disk drives item
You can see brand and model of the current HDD on your computer. If it failed already, pull it out and check.
    Regards.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M 30 gb - DRM information corrupt or missing.....???????

So I just started having this problem yesterday but it seem I'm the only ever to have it. I've scanned every page I can and can't find a solution. Yesterday I started playing my music then all of the sudden it stopped. Granted I was having problems before even though I just got this unit a month..........! I sent an email and still haven't received a response.
Here's the problem. While listening to my music yesterday I encountered a message saying - Playback Error. This error persisted after changing the track. After going home and reformatting, reinstalling firmware, downgrading -> upgrading firmware, reformatting over and over and over again, disk clean up, system restore, reboots, default restore, reformatting, again reformatting, deleting every piece of information I could delete...... you might be getting the picture so far.... After doing all of this I was unable to download tracks again onto my MP3 player. The only ones I can upload are unprotected content. I got thinking maybe there is a problem in my DRM file..... Where is my DRM file on the MP3 player and how do I delete it's You can't. At least not what I found. So again I tried everything over and over again and nothing works. I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I have a 30gb Creative Zen Vision: M player, Windows XP/Vista 64, Napster ToGo and now I can't use my MP3. This unit is a month old and I cannot use it. PLEASE HELP ME. This is very long winded but I'm hoping this will help a little. Thanks in advance, I'm going insane without my music.

Well I have never used a service like that. That's all I can think of off hand.

  • Creative Zen Vision M out of stock in Cana

    Hello guys,
Just wondering whether there is any place where there is Creative Zen Vision M MP3 players, I have ordered with Dell and they have promised me that it is coming "soon" several times . Futureshop is out of stock, so as BestBuy. What happened to all the stock in Canada? When are we expecting them to come out again? Thanks!Message Edited by zhuanyi on 06-2-2006 0:53 AM

I got mine yesterday in So Cal at Frys Electronic. They had all the colors..... I had the same problem. I called Creatri've and they told me they did'nt think they would sell so many. Sounds like the place I work for LOL. Lets see you will best of show at CES and you don't think you will sell a tun? I wanted to buy from the creative store but they have been out for a long time. I think they have them now.

PS OMG this thing is so awesome. Way better then the Ipod.

  • Creative Zen vision M 30 GB MP3 player does not resp

My Creative Zen vision M 30 GB MP3 player stopped working. It does not turn on, does not charge, does not respond to anything. Is the battery dead or what would be the problem. Please help.

There are a multitude of problems that could be causing your player to exhibit this behavior in addition to battery failure, including the failure of the main logic board. If the player has been dropped a few times, exposed to excessi've heat, or high humidity/water, the problem might not be the battery. On the other hand, if the battery has been allowed to fully exhaust on a regular basis and left uncharged for long periods, it is possible that the battery could be dead, but LIon batteries usually last at least 2-3 years with regular use and normal recharging practices if they haven't been abused.

  • HELP!!! Creative Zen Vision M - unresponsive in ANY way...NEED HELP!

Ok, so this might be a very simple question to answer, but I'm very worried.
Pretty much, I had been using my Creative Zen Vision M (30 gig) for a long time, but stopped about a year ago. The batteried drained, and I didnt get around to charging it.
Now, it's been about a year, and I've tried plugging in the Zen into my computers to charge.
There is NO recognition of the player, no yellow alert, no new device alert, NOTHING.
The blue light at the top DOES NOT flash
And My media explorer thinks that it is not connected to the computer.
I've read a lot about Zens going black, and the blue light keeps flashing, but literally, from the time I plug in the Zen, to when it's sitting on my shelf, I notice no difference. I cannot turn on the player and it wont charge.
I tried using USB ports in the back, as well as leaving the zen plugged in all day to "Charge". Over 8 hours later, and the player does not budge.
I do not own an adapter to the Zen, but I tried a 4.5V sony one, and recieved nothing.
    The simple question is:
After letting the player drain, and die after just under a year of no use, has my player bit the bisquit's
    OR
Is my battery (or firmware, which unfortunately I have no idea what it is, but it sounds like I can upgrade without having the player turn on) simply taking it's sweet time to recouperate.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! I am very desperate to get my player working again.

Leave the player connected to the computer & use a REAR USB port(with the computer on) for 24hrs. Or use a wall charger to charge the battery . It may take a hour for it to just start charging plugged in but once it does let it FULLY charge. That means until it stops blinking the battery icon it full & the player cuts off when done. Now I know Creative wall chargers are not easy to find & they are not cheap. The Sony PSP wallcharger is compatible with the players adapter(plugs into the center hole on the dongle) Also to get it charging after it has been connected for a time hit the Reset? while connected. Not easy but doable with a thin pin.

  • How to save video to play on Creative Zen Vision M

My (PC using) friend just bought a Creative Zen Vision M (the competitor to the video iPod). It will play MPEG1, 2, and 4SP and will play MPEG's created in an older version of iMovie (I forget which, it's been a few years). For some reason, the MPEG4 version created by iMovie HD6 is not compatible with the Zen player.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to export from iMovie HD 6 in a format that can be used by the Creative Zen Vision M?
    Thanks.

    >Hi,
Sorry about your ZEN Vision:M. From what you mentioned, I don't think the data is recoverable under normal means. You probably might want to take it to a technician? or someone who is familar with electronics to see if they can remove the harddisk from the ZEN Vision:M and recover the data.

  • Where I can find free drivers for Creative Zen Vision

I've lost my Creative Zen Vision:M drivers, so I can't share with my friends my music, videos and photos. Do you know where I can find these free drivers for Zen Vision:M?

I've downloaded Creative ZEN Vision:M 30 GB Firmware .62.02e and it says to me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". I've connected my Creative Zen Vision:M with PC and it always says to me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player". What I must do now Thanks.

The only mpeg 2 file that i was able to transfer to it was encoded with mp3 audio. Now i downloaded this file which was a music video off the net and i've not come across a software that encodes mpeg2 with mp3 yet. Most short video clips in mpeg 2 are in svcd format with mp2 audio and video with .m2v extension which is quite common as well.these woudn't ghet transferred to the player insisting on converting.converting a mpeg2 file at 480x576 or 480x480 resolution to 320x240 resolution just isn't really cool when the player can handle those resolutions in other formats.too much quality gets lost in the process and you only get an half decent wmv9 video with a low resolution.Sadly the player will only play wmv9 encoded at 320x240 resolution so it's not anoption for me.i much rathetr use third party software video encoder like the tmpgenc xpress or mpeg4 directmaker with the latter being good for converting dvd video files to avi with the subtitles embedded in the video.
The video playback quality is good and is better than the ipod playback quality.i will say only h264 encoded video on the ipod at high quality and high resolution is comparable.the inability to create video playlists and not being able to playback videos in sequence is one let down of the vision m.i have as much as 20 encoded music videos in the player and it would have been nice to just have the videos playback in any sequence you want them instead of going back to the the selection screen after each one. I rest my case here for now.creative please look into these issues and you will be doing much more justice to this brilliant product. <font face="Century" size="3">?<font face="Century" size="3">?

  • Creative Zen Vision:M Problen, PLEASE HELP

I have had my Creative Zen Vision:M for a little over a year now. I has remained my favorite MP3 player by far in comparision to the rest of the competition. The problem I am having is that recently I went to transfer some music onto it after I hadn't done it in a while. I opened up the Creative Zen Vision:M Explorer, and to my dismay it said that the player was not connected. I have tried multiple reconnections with the wire, startup/shutdown many times even uninstalled and reinstalled the software but it always remains having the transfer files etc options faded out regardless of the player being connected or not. The Device manager has it listed without the yellow exclamation point so I know it is recognized by the computer but I am at a total loss for what to do now. Also, I have tried system restore to a time where it was working properly but to no avail it's the same thing. Any advice will be appreciated.

well im not really scared. but it won't wpork anymore. like everytime i turn it off reset it or reboot it. it would just show the recovery mode and nothign else. that worries me ebcause i can't get it to work as normal agains. =[ so yea. maybe the filmwire thingy would work.

  • Creative Zen Vision M won't power up. Doesn't even show LED lig

I received a Creative Zen Vision M as a Christmas gift last year. Worked fine for about 3 months, then I started having repeated freezing problems. Fixed those, but eventually the unit just died. No indication of any power. Not even the blinking light. Went to Best Buy where it was purchased, but they could not help. Best Buy tried to find a purchase record, but no luck. After giving up on it for a few months, I thought I'd try again today. I've had it connected by USB for the last 7 hours, but no luck. So what can I do now I like the Creative Zen products (I have had no problems with another Creative MP3 player), and I'd love to get this player working again because I enjoyed watching movies on it in flight.
    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

This happened to me once, so I purchased a new battery, then left it plugged in for a few hours after that.
It froze when I started it up, but when I reformatted it, everything worked fine again.
That may or may not help, sorry.
    Good luck =]

  • Creative Zen Vision:M FM Radio Completely Disappeared!! (Reinstalling firmware doesn't hel

I turned on my Creative Zen Vision: M, and the FM Radio wasn't there. It just simply disappeared; it's not listed on the Main Menu, nor is it listed as an option from "Configure Menu". This has nothing to do with a new Firmware update that removes the?radio; my player was not connected to?my computer. I have had my player since July of 2006, so it's obviously too late to return it. I've looked around on the forum and many other people have had the same problem, but the only solution has been to reinstall/upgrade the firmware. This doesn't solve the problem. I've tried everything on the recovery menu--formatting, rebooting, cleaning disk, etc, but nothing has worked. I've also contacted Customer Support, but from what I've heard, it's probably not going to help. Has ANYONE been able to solve this problem? It's really frustrating that so many people have this problem and nothing has worked.

    Oh, right, sorry.
"OS Name: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    Version: 5..2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600"
Though currently, I'm installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 via Windows Automatic Updates.
    WMP Version: .0.572.5230
Should I uninstall WMP entirely to eliminate it as a possible factor?
(I have Winamp so I don't really need WMP.)
Are you saying that once I rollback my WMP to WMP0, my computer will be capable of reading my Zen & thus, allowing me to download the firmware and restoring it's previous condition (minus the contents-music, video, pictures, etc.)
Also, I tried to see if my Zen would try to connect to my laptop - I uninstalled the Zen program on it before connecting it, to see if anything would come up, allowing me to do anything, etc. But no, it just said "My Zen" but I couldn't do anything with that. And then I installed all of the software on the Creative Installation CD. After all of that, apparently my computer acknowledges that a device is connected via USB because it gives me an option as to what to do with it - open it, play it with wmp, explore, etc. The problem though was that the Creative program itself wouldn't acknowledge that it was connected. So I still had the "The player is not connected."
Just thought this might make a difference -
I also was looking for some kind of repair shops or sites that would be capable of repairing my Zen - the only thing I came across was http://www.zenrepair.com/Zen/index.jsp - does anyone know anything about this site? If it's reliable, etc. (Just a back up option in case this situation isn't solveable by other Zen peers.)
Also, thanks again for any help, effort, attempt, etc.

  • Creative Zen Vision M Display Problems

I purchased a Creative Zen Vision M MP3 player around 2-3 years ago and it's been great so far. I've even bought most of the accessories for it!
I switched it on today and found that there was a problem with the display - it's gone taint and there are stripey lines across it. Any idea what this might be?
I've tried to reset it and plugged it into the television through the AV function and it displays just fine on the television.
I've sent off an e-mail to Creative but just wondered if anyone has experienced something similar? And if so, how did you get it working again?
    Many thanks,

Replace the screen that is a hardware problem. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...n%3D4%26ps%3D0? Here is a source to purchase a new one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Drkr...e=channel_page? & a video to dismantle the player.

  • Creative Zen Vision: M, Firmware 1.40.02 and screen backlight not blank

Is there a bug in the .40.02 firmware?
I just bought a Creative Zen Vision: M yesterday.
I noticed that with the out of the box firmware (.30.02), the LCD screen backlight would turn off to conserve battery power.
Later in the day, I upgraded to the .40.02 firmware posted May 24, 2006. Now my LCD screen backlight stays lit all the time.
Since the player is so new, I wonder if I'm imagining things.
Can someone with .30.02 or earlier firmware confirm that their screen backlight turns off after some period of time turning the screen dark?
Can someone reproduce the problem with the .40.02 firmware that the screen backlight stays lit, no matter how long since the last button press?
If I'm not imagining things, this would seem to dramatically affect the playtime on a full charge.
    Thanks.

    This is INDEED a problem.
The screen is? SUPPOSED to blank all by itself , NOT only with the lock button engaged. I have this exact problem and returned one player only to see the same thing with the next. I also have the .40.02 firmware !!! Creative support said to upgrade my firmware to .6.xx? and see what happens. If the screen doesn't blank by itself without the lock button,? they are sending me another player !
