You may have blundered into "Full Screen" mode, an abomination ported from iOS, the iPhone Operating System, land of tiny screens and one-at-a-time Applications.
Try clicking the double-arrows in the extreme upper right of the MenuBar or Window.

If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.

How can I get Applications back to the Dock?

I've stupidly just dragged my applications folder to Trash (I was surprised Mac didn't ask me if I really wanted to). I've tried to find it in Trach but it's not there, but it is down left-hand in Finder. How can I get it back to the Dock?

To get the icon for the hard drive showing on the Desktop, go to Finder's Preferences (in Finder menu) and on the General tab checkmark the item "Hard disks".
To have an icon representing the hard drive appear in the Sidebar in a Finder window, in Finder's Preferences go to the Sidebar tab and checkmark "Hard disks" in the Devices section.
Yet a third way to see the Applications folder itself - open the Applications folder, either via that entry in the Go menu or by clicking it in the Sidebar in a Finder window. Another way - go to the View menu and select "Show Path Bar". When I opened firefox as my browser, I accidentally clicked on it twice, it opened two sessions. I closed one session, but, as it turns out I closed the session that had all of my app tabs, leaving the page that had none of my app tabs.
Now, I cannot get my app tabs back.
I tried doing a session restore to the previous session and that didn't help.
How can I get the correct session, with my app tabs in place, without doing a) a system restore point on the whole computer or b) restarting the computer?

On your iPod Touch, open the iTunes app. There should be tab named "purchased", which shows all your purchase history. Choose the "Not on this iPod" tab and you'll get a list of purchased products that are not on your device. Hope this helped.

Open the Applications folder, find them one at a time & drag them to the Dock, likely/hopefully you just dragged the aliases up off the Dock.

My navigation bar disappeared so now I cannot print, edit, etc. How can I get it back. The info on your page does not help.

I may have accidentally hidden the navigation bar i.e. the one that gives you options like File, Edit, etc. the info you provide for getting it back does not help because it asks me to use those tabs, which are not there anymore. This prevents me from printing, etc.

Use either the Alt or F10 keys to temporarily display the menu. Then in the View menu select Toolbars, then "Menu Bar" to make it permanently display the menu.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Lost Garageband and other apps when hardrive was replaced. How can I get them back?

I lost a few mac apps when I had to have my harddrive replaced..........since it went out and it was under a factory recall. And when they replaced it they couldn't get everything off the hard-drive. So is there a way I can get the apps back.

There are several ways to get those iLife and other App's from your original Disc Set.
1. May or may not be an option, but at least get an estimate to replace your Optical SuperDrive from the local Apple Store or AASP.

I just tried downloading 4, replaced 3.6 with this new version that is not supported on my system. I'm using a Mac 10.4.11. I have lost the previous version that I was using. How can I get it back?

I googled Firefox and tried to download the version I was using and it again downloaded this new version.
