The latest version does not show the security pad-lock, concerned about on-line purchases.
When you go to make purchases you always had a pad-lock in the lower right corner letting you know it was secure. This latest version does not and I'm concerned about on-line purchases.
In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.<br />
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server.<br />
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL.<br />
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

The library module in 4.3 version does not show all the images
The library module in the version 4.3 of Lightroom does not show all the images. They are marked with gray boxes instead of images. This is especially true of the images which I tried to import to Lightroom since I downloaded 4.3 a few weeks ago. If I want to seen an image, I have to go to the develop module to see it. What should I do? Get this fixed now!!!!!!!!
My bet would be on a corrupt preview folder.
Your preview folder is located in the same folder as your catalog. It has the same name as your catalog with the word Previews.LRDATA at the end of the name. Rename this folder and let Lightroom rebuild the previews. Go to Library>Previews>Render Standard-sized Previews. See if that fixes it.

My iPhone's (4S,iOS Version 6.1.03) calendar will not sync to my PC's Outlook 2010 calendar (Windows 7). I have the latest version of iTunes, which does not recognize my device even though it launched iTunes when I connectedd the USB. The iTunes "Help" and Apple's article does not address the "what if" the device doesn't show. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

2G itouch does not show on mycomputer or in itunes when trying to sync
Just back from vacation and itunes 9.0 available so I upgrade. Having not synced for a while i try but the PC restarts itself. Once started neither Itunes or Mycomputer sees the ipod and so cannot sync. When connecting the ipod to the PC I get a different beep noise to what you usually get when attaching an external drive through a USB port and the computer shows no sign of a drive attached. When I remove the ipod I do get the usual beep noise you get when removing an external drive from USN port.
I have tried:
1/uninstalling and re-installing itunes
2/deauthorising and authorising computer in itunes
3/different cables
4/different USB ports on the PC
5/powering off the itouch
...probably tried other things too but lost count.
Anyone help ?I had a similar problem the other day when upgrading from 3.0 to to 3.1 and then then my ipod touch wouldn't even turn on.
When connecting the ipod to the computer and holding down the ipod power and home buttons for 20 seconds the computer would beep but perform no action and itunes would not recognise the ipod.
If you right click on the usb connections on your computer you may find the computer is not recognising the ipod correctly if so you will need to update the drivers these are located in c:/program files/common files/apple/mobile device support/drivers
just point windows to that directory and it will load the driver usbaapl.sys
reconnect the ipod and hold the home and power buttons again
then once windows has identified the ipod correctly press the home button and itunes should identify your ipod which it will then reformat.
It worked for me and after that finally loaded 3.1.1 correctly.

I have been trying to download an update on my MacBook Air and it goes thru the process and restarts but the update does not load. I know it is not loading because when I go to " About this computer" the version does not show it updated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Firefox is running. I close the program. I try to reopen it. I get an error message: Firefox is already running. It does not show in the task manager, nor anywhere else. I can not close the old version, nor start a new one. I have to reboot.
Did you look in the Processes tab in the Task Manager?

When I try to include a white and black photo in a iMovie the result is a black totaly black picture which does not show in the movie. Why? Can it be fixed?
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Other than that, what version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I downloaded Yosemite and now my iPhoto has a bar across it and will not open. I need to update to the latest version. The app store says the latest version is not available in the Canadian Store. What can I do.
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library. -

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -

To my knowledge, I've only seen this for imessage only and not SMS.
The other users would need to have send read receipts enabled on their phone. -
My iPad 4 does not show up on my TV screen when in AirPlay mirroring mode using WiFi. The iPad displays AirPlay set to TV with the Mirroring On (green).
My iPad IOS software is 8.2 and my Apple TV software is at 7.1. The TV displays the Apple Menu. The “Settings” does however displays the General menu allowing me to see:

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device.
