My Email account wont send

I am a silver surfer and am having problems with my BT email account. Suddenly emails started to get over a 100 failure notices via email from By Yahoo, I was told to add them to spam and then delete them which I did. Because of so many each day it has now caused me to loose the option of sending mails. I have reported it but to no avail. Can anyone  advise me how to solve this problem . In normal English please not too technical ha.

Hi.
The failure notices (typically probably from mailer daemon) are due to a spammer using your email address as the "From" address in their spam run. This is usually a random act by their software, and after an initial barrage, they trickle to a stop.
However it shouldn't stop you sending emails.
Are you sending emails from a browser login to BTYahoo! (i.e. via webmail) or using something like Outlook, Thunderbird or Windows Mail ?
Can you say what happens when you try to send emails, are they failing to send with an error message ? If so can you post any error message, first having removed any personal details like email address.

  • Is there any way to setup a email account for sending only

is there any way to setup a email account for sending only?  i have a pop account that i fwd to my google acct, so all my mail is mapi thru google/exchange. i do need this account as a send email address so currently i have entered a wrong password so i do not duplicate my inbox.  its annoying as i get the bad reteival popup continuessly.  Many email products, like outlook allow you to decide which accounts to download.  it should be a simple fix from Apple, but dont think there is any one to talk too about this.  other option is to use the gmail app or chrome, but like apple's email better for iphone  Any ideas??

  • Email account can send email but cannot recieve

My new contractor email account can send email but cannot receive. GIT had identified the problem "Mail record not created in LDAP" but it has been more than a week and still no fix.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    James

    Hi James,
Contractors by default are not provided email access. Your manager needs to request for a mail record from APS. If your manager had already requested for a mail record, then you need to raise a service request with helpdesk.
Moreover you're reporting this issue in the wrong forum.
    Thanks,

  • How do I set up email accounts to send emails while travelling overseas using various wifi locations?

How do I set up email accounts to send and receive
emails while travelling overseas using various wifi locations?

Many ISP provided email accounts limit connections to their outgoing SMTP email servers to only connections coming from their own network. So, if you try to send email when not connected to their network (i.e. when not at home), the connection will be rejected.
If you are using an ISP provided email address, in these circumstances, you'll need to ask your ISP if they provide an "authenticated SMTP connection" so that you can send email via their SMTP server when not actually accessing the internet via their network. You'll need to enter your email account username and password in the Outgoing SMTP server settings and possible configure SSL or outgoing port numbers. Your ISP will be able to advise on this though, as the exact setting vary between ISPs.
By far the best solution though, is to use an email account that is not tied to any particular ISP, such as a GMail account, as these can be used from anywhere, on any network and provide authenticated SMTP as standard.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From what you say, you may have done some of this, but not exactly this in exactly this order. With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes..
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • How to prevent exchange email account from sending emails in Outlook

    Hello,
I'm using Outlook 2010 with two email accounts. First account is set up with pop/smtp (hosted email), Second account is set up with local exchange server 2003 (not full exchange, only used to store emails, calendars, public folders). For sending & receiving
emails we use hosted email account pop/smtp, which is default account.
The problem is when I receive meeting request.....if i hit Accept > Send the Response Now, for some reason it will try to send from the Exchange account (which is not set up for sending emails).
The only workaround I know is to hit Accept > Edit the Response before Sending > change account from exchange to pop and send.
Would you please help me if there is a fix or any way to disable exchange account from sending emails !!
    Thanks a lot !!!

When the meeting is added to the exchange calendar, it wants to send the response. One way to solve it (and i think the easiest) is to configure the exchange account to send mail using a smart host. Configure your hosted email address as the default smtp
address - the server will send any mail it receives and the address on it will be your correct internet address.

  • How to select email account for sending notifications

    I have three calendars (for example, C1, C2, C3). My Mail application has 3 email accounts (A1, A2, A3).
How can I make the calendar send notifications using a selected email account?
For example, I want all calendar email notifications to be sent using account A2.
    I'll appreciate your help.

    sd0084,
If I change, all my emails would go out the selected account.
    Correct.
I routinely use that method, which means that I must select a different account in the "New Message" window "From:" field when I choose to send mail from a different account.
    ;~)

  • Using Several Email Accounts and Sending from One

    First issue:
I use three email accounts on my iPhone (MobileMe, Gmail, and an institutional account). All of my incoming messages are routed to my MobileMe account. This way I can have access to all three accounts but I only have to look at the MobileMe inbox for new messages.
I'd like to respond to messages using my Gmail address even though I'm reading them in MobileMe to which they are redirected. Is it possible to set Gmail as the default outgoing address (even within the MobileMe view) so that I don't have to manually switch the "From" field when I compose a new message?
    Second issue:
When I forget to switch the "From" field to Gmail, it tries to send using my MobileMe address, which seems like the natural result. But every time I hit send it tells me that the server can't be reached (or some similar error), and it refers to my address as "@mac.com" instead of "@me.com". Does the suffix account for the error? How can I fix this, assuming I can't resolve the first issue above?
    Thanks.

    check this:
Tools > Account Settings > Copies & Folders.
do not select / uncheck the box:
'place replies in the folder of the message being replied to'
click on OK to save changes.

  • Defining email account for sending invites

I think I'm using iCal as intended. I work at home and have multiple calendars but let's just say I have three calendars -- Home, Work and Other -- and I have three email accounts -- eHome, eWork and eOther.
I seem to have limited control over which email address is used to send invites from a particular calendar. I think I understand why it changes but what I can't understand is why can't I set the outbound email account on a per-calendar basis.
Ideally, I could click on the calendar and in the info pane, select one of the e-mail accounts in my mail application (Mail). That would be static such that any time I sent an invite from the Work calendar, it would be sent via my eWork account.
Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? This seems like a rather obvious weekness that is causing confusion with my various associates. Is there a way to address this?
    Thank you,
    Chip

Yes, I think you understand the situation. However, just yesterday something happened that really confused me. I thought the messages were sent via one of the accounts define in Mail. However, I sent out invitations to two people and got the responses back on my Blackberry! dress in the address book.
When I investigated, the replies were actually sent directly to the Blackberry's e-mail address and the invitees thought they may have come from that address. I have no Blackberry account defined in mail and only the address is listed in "MY" card in the Address Book. Very odd.
I've looked at some recent invites and they are being sent via several different addresses/accounts (e.g. work, DSL account, .Mac, etc.) The Blackberry thing definitely has me confused.

  • Select from multiple email accounts in Send Link ...

When I use Firefox's Send Link ... function to email a web address to a friend the "from" email account is always the first account in Thunderbird. Is ti possible in some way to select from other email accounts I have in Thunderbird, or, specify that the default account is the second, or third account listed in Thunderbird?

Sorry, there's no way to change that in Firefox. Try a Thunderbird support forum.

  • Mac email account wont stop looking for new mails.

Just recently and out of the bloom my .mac email account started acting up doing two things:
    1. It fails to receive some emails (I get some, but other I just don't. It appears to be random). I've had several people tell me they've emailed be but I've have nothing in my inbox, neither on my mac nor on mobileme.
    2. The same .mac (just to clarify I have a @mac.com account not @me.com) account does not stop looking for new emails. That little circles that goes around when you hit the get mail button; it wont stop circling.
I've deleted the account from my computer twice and both problems are still occurring.
This started just last week. I've never had any problem before that. I'm not running out of allocated space; I've already checked that.
Please Help. Bothe problems are pretty annoying (specially not getting emails.

Just to clarify the point. You do have a .me account. The .mac is just an alias now for .me
Maybe you should set up the account as [email protected] and see if that improves the reliablity.

  • I have 2 emails accounts one sends and receives fine with a POP account the other IMAP and I'm buggered if i know how to change it or to even check the answer from this question.  OMG is there a computer buddy who can help this idiot pleeeeease

Firstly I apologise for my dumness when it comes to computers.
We have a new imac and i have tried to set up our emails.  One is setup up under POP (and is fine) and the other under IMAP, its the later that doesnt send or receive.  What do I need to do to change the setup.  I go into 'account' and where to from there??

You can access, usually under the Apple (icon) menu in the main desktop
window, note item with name "About this Mac" & click on that, to see more
information about your computer, its OS X version, and other. The system
version and build model are there. Do not post a serial number.
If you are setting up Mail in a Mavericks OS X 10.9.x system, there often
is access to information in the Help viewer from the main menu bar, or
in an open mail application. If you have a Gmail or other account, that
info is often on their home page where setup and help are located.
    The settings of each email account may vary according to their provider;
so you would have to change your computer to accept them. An older
link to a general look at that issue, change IMAP to POP, is covered here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16770816#16770816
While that may not answer your question, you could use the info in
your Mac OS X system Help viewer and use its search; or maybe
a Spotlight search to see an answer online.
You have to learn some basic things in order to actually use these...
and it helps to expand that so you won't have to pay for tech service
on things you can do yourself in a few minutes, beyond easy stuff.
Of course, you're hearing this from a guy with no ISP email, ever.
So mine are web-mail only; & I never save email to a computer.
PS: If you have a new Mac with an AppleCare plan, you may be able
contact Support for help. Ask someone (for 90 days, or up to 3 years
if the Plan was extended) there at AppleCare, for their guidance.

    Good luck & happy computing!
