My email address has shown up on my background and I can't get rid of it.

Not sure what I did, but my email address has shown up on my background. I can't move it to the side, or delete it. I can drag a box around it, as if it is in a text box? But I can't delete it. I can't highlight it either. It's like a ghost:) It just sits there unaccessible.
I have a Macbook Pro and using Yosemite.

Your Desktop?
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plists to your desktop.
Re-launch Finder by restarting and test. If it works okay, delete the plists from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plists to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Bearshare was downloaded to our home computer. Now it has taken over my Firefox homepage and I can't get rid of it. I have tried changing the homepage via Tools, Options. Didnt work. Deleted the Bearshare app and cookies and web history. Still didnt work.

It took over the Homepage in IE too, but I was able to change it using Internet Options.

You only get an alert stating "An attempt to change the homepage has been blocked" if you have security software or an extension that is protecting against such a change. Firefox doesn't do that by itself. If starting in [[Safe mode]] didn't help then that only leaves security software, so you need to look to see how you can allow a home page change.

TS1702 I have a problem with an app called GSN casino. It has appeared on my app screen and I can't get rid of it.

There is no way that I can see to get this supid thing off my app screen. I can't update apps I can't add new apps I can't do anything and I **** sure don't want this app.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Permanent vertical blue line the screen and a red one has just popped up too. What does it mean and how can I get rid of them?

I have had a permanent vertical blue line on the right side of my imac screen for some time now. It does not affect the use of the computer. A red one has popped up on the right side of the screen and is not going away either.
Would you know why these are appearing and perhaps how to get rid of them please?

Best guess is that either your GPU or LCD is failing. You should take it to the nearest Apple Store or AASP for proper diagnostic. Once you know what the problem is you can decide wether or not it's worth repairing.

Yes, it is a varient of the same malware however for Mac users it appears to only infect the browser using a Javascript lock.
Write down the url of the malware site, all you need is the domain name like discussions.apple.com, nothing else is needed.
1: Command tab to the Finder
2: Apple Menu > Force Quit > Safari
3: Relaunch Safari holding the Shift key down to disable reopening of previous pages.
4: Reset Safari.
5: Report the offending site to: https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_badware/
6: Restart your machine and restore from TimeMachine backup or bootable clone (optional at this time as we don't know much about it on Mac's yet)

My safari browser has been hijacked by so called in text advertising on both my iPad and MacBook Pro and I can't get rid of it.

Both my iPad 4 and MacBook Pro are affected - if I turn off JavaScript the problem goes but then I can't access gmail etc. I have deleted all cookies and web data and it keeps coming back. Words are highlighted green and annoying little pop up ads. How can I get rid of this?

Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Open the DNS tab again and change the server addresses to the following:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
Notes:
1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself.
2. I’m not advocating Google or anything else as a DNS provider; the server addresses are offerred merely for testing purposes. I have changed the email address related to my Apple ID.However the old email address has stayed on my old Ipad and I cloud.How do I change this as I can't remember the password.

The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.

I am having the same problem as the personal who asked the original question. I think they left out a bit of information. I am extremely frustrated. I just downloaded ios7. I want to utilize icloud. It has an email address for me which shows a gmail account instead of a hotmail account. It's incorrect, but icloud wants me to verify that account. It is not my Apple ID, but an incorrect variation of my Apple ID. iCloud is waiting for me to verify that account, which I cannot do because it does not exist in this or any other universe. I tried to delete the account from my iphone, but guess what? they want me to sign in with my incorrect email address and password to delete the account. How in the world do I get icloud to allow me to enter my apple id email address ? IAt looks like a terrible glitch and all I want to do is be able to use the Find My Phone feature. Help!!!! Babylon search??? has attached to my firefox and I can't get rid of it. There is a back tab with firefox and a front and dominant one with babylon. Help

Any search toolbar and changes to search engines can take place by downloading and installing software; usually "free" software from the internet. Babylon can be downloaded and installed by itself or as a "ride-along" when installing/updating some software from the internet. Always look for an opportunity during the installation to un-check boxes that will install "ride-along" items that you do not want. Firefox installation does not include such "ride-along" items.

Can't receive email from Mail 3.4 and I can't get rid of a draft email

OK, two problems here...
1 The most frustrating is that I can't receive mail from Mail 3.4. I can send and my wife's email account is working fine. I've got a green light from the "Mail Connection Doctor" and I haven't changed any settings that I know of. I've been accessing my mail thru me.com now, it's working OK but not like "Mail".

2 I have this piece of email that I sent...the guy received it...and it keeps showing up in my "Drafts" mailbox. I delete it, then it comes back, sometimes multiple copies! I've been getting an error message....

I think I've got it fixed....I "reset" my mail program, I deleted my mailbox then re-created it and I'm all set for now.

Firefox on Mac, now Bing search has replaced Google and I can't get rid of Bing- how?

Bing has mysteriously replaced Google and pops up in new tabs, etc. I have tried to change this, but Bing pesists. I don't want it, I didn't ask for it (intentionally, anyway) - how do I get rid of it?

I've had the same problem as you and it seems I've solved.
What I have done is, first uninstall an add-on called conduit firefox engine.
Second, in the address bar you have to put about: config. And find all strings that say "search.conduit"and put the option to reset.
I solved it for me the problem, I hope you serve.
