My Encore is crashing when I try and add a menu button?

I can't figure out what is causing this, there doesn't appear to be an update and Adobe support only services Cloud members now. I was also getting a "photoshop file error -1" message. Any ideas?

You are probably running Mavericks or Yosemite.
Yosemite is not supported for Encore, but neither was Mavericks.
Many of the issues in Mavericks appeared to be permissions. Most Adobe apps need read/write access, and those were not the defaults for the OS.
Some Mavericks users reported the following fixes their problems - I eventually assumed that somewhere in the process, it was fixing permissions. But perhaps it does more: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6109315#6109315
And comments for these operating systems for Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder, and After Effects may be helpful. (Encore does not have a support team that is active, so nothing official for it.) But there are specific bug fixes for these OSs in CC versions, so....

Indesign crashes when I try and open my document

I created a file in Indesign which represents many days of work.
It crashed indesign when I was pdf'ing the document and now it crashes indesign every time I try to open it.
It is my only version.
I have tried many ways to open it but nothing has worked - can you help?

NB Someone suggested I send it to Adobe and they may be able to fix it, but I can't find a contact email to send it to.

You need to empty the InDesign Recovery folder (which is hidden in your user profile/library). You can find the path to InDesign SavedData in this link: Replace Your Preferences and the recovery folder should be in the same folder with the InDesign SavedData file.
Once the recovery folder is empty you should be able to launch ID, then try opening the file. If it wasn't damaged while writing it back to disk it will be fine, in the last previously saved state.

Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing when I try and change brush colour

Hi, my Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing when I try and change brush colour. I use layer masks a lot and consequently need to switch between black and white brushes. CS6 crashes a lot and gets closed by Windows 7 when I either click in the icon to swap brush colour or press the X keyboard shortcut. It's driving me crazy. I run Windows 7 on a high spec Dell PC. The problem has only started a couple of months ago, had CS6 since it came out. Can I advise me please? Thanks.

Quicktime crashes when I try and open a movie or audio recording

QT crashes whenever I try and open a new audio or movie recording, as well it crashes when i try and go see the preferences for recording. I would appreciate any help, I have QT pro 7.2.0 and player 7.2

i just installed tiger (leopard just came out-I try to run stable systems) and my quicktime now crashes when starting new recording also. Was recording fine off of ISight camera on panther. IMovie can see the ISight preview but continues to tell me it can't find a camera....???? Go figure

PE7 crashes when I try to add a title...?

I bought PE7 a couple of weeks ago it's been a great piece of software, my measly 2.26ghz processor and 480mb of RAM handled it just fine and I was really enjoying liking the software.
So it came as a shock to me when one day whilst I was trying to add a title to my video, I was greeted not by a wonderoos selection of fonts but by a message apologizing for 'the inconvenience', the computer I was using did not have access to the internet and so I was unable to send the error report Windows had so kindly compiled for me, PE7 then decided to close...
"Well, never mind" I thought "I've only lost a few minutes work" So I tried again (to add the title), but the same thing happened, and again, and again e.c.t
The program only crashes when I try to add a title I cannot get it to do so any other way and everything else works fine. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a sucspision that one of the fonts may be corrupt, so if anyone knows the name of the folder they are stored in that would be helpful.

You stole some of my "thunder." Titler in PrE and in PrPro is very, very sensitive to fonts and problems. Fonts that PS, AI, InDesign and ohters will work with fine, will bring Titler to its knees. These can be corrupt fonts, badly formed fonts and even certain fonts. This also happens before Titler ever gets open. It occurs when it surveys the installed fonts on the system.
Now, and this might depend a bit on your exact OS, your installed fonts are stored in C:\Windows\Fonts.
I use a utility, Extensis FontDoctor to survey, repair and/or replace any bad fonts. A freeware program, FontFrenzy, (you do need to register, but it's still free) will do this too. It's so very much quicker, than the manual way of finding bad fonts.
One thing that I like about Font Doctor is that it can survey my entire system. On my workstation, I have over 12,000 fonts, though usually no more than ~200 loaded at any one time. Still, if I do install any, I do not want them to break Titler either. I use the Extensis Suitcase to manage/dynamically install these other fonts, as is needed for Projects.
Be aware that there are some fonts, that just kill Titler, regardless of what Font Doctor, or FontFrenzy say about them. One is Deja Vu, which is installed when one gets SunMicro System's Open Office. Something is wrong with that font, but it's not corrupt - it just flat kills Titler. I do not have an entire list of these rogue fonts, but would also suspect that some of the older Corel fonts might do the same. My recent Corel WordPerfect fonts do not seem to have any issues and I use several of these.
Try FontFrenzy, and see if it finds any corrupt fonts.

I would get an external drive today and copy all your stuff off the TC.. forget trying to load more onto it. There is a good chance after 3years (A 2TB should be only about 2years tops), the disk or the TC itself is on the way out. Do it immediately. If TM is also failing to backup you need to recognise symtoms of impending doom.
Unfortunately the error messages are archane and it is hard to discover their meaning.
You also cannot verify a network drive.. you can verify the TM sparsebundle though so do that.

Reboot the whole network from off.. certainly if you run later OS it can simply lose the drive..
If you still fail to be able to copy to the TC.. then get that external and copy off it. Tell us if you can do that.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

The ONLY caveat with it is: You CAN'T drag & drop files on it to open them. You MUST use the browse function to select them. If you drag and drop, it multiplies the output files. A 10 track album will produce 45 converted files.

Xcelsius Crashes when I try and Preview

So I have a file I have been working on for sometime, and for some reason when I try and preview now, Xcelsius just stops working and I have to shut it down. It only started happening today when I added some new content, but my real question is, what could have stopped it from working? Nothing I added in was any different that the stuff I had previously been working on. Thanks for any help, and if I need to clarify/add anything, just let me know.
EDIT: I have taken all the new objects that I recently inserted and deleted them. I then went one by one, re-adding them and after each object hit preview. It worked until a certain point where it continued to crash again. Is it possible that the file could be too big? It's only 260kb, which to me seems like it should work fine. Here is the log:

Actually it does nopen on my laptop now, I just had to be more patient :o) because it takes 3-5 mins to open the XLF...
Open the XLF is open I can generate a SWF without issues...
It could be to do with your memory settings for this kind of model which has quite a lot of components and individual bindings in it.
My laptop has an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz processor with 3GB running XP SP3 with Office 2007 SP2.
But I also have my XP Page File set to a custom size of 4094 (the most I can set) which may be why I have neough memory to generate the SWF.
You may want to revisit your dashboard design because you have a lot of components in it which will affect the startup performance.

App store crashes when I try and "Accept" I-Photo after clean install

I previously had Iphoto as part of the bundle with my OSX Lion Macbook Pro. I then perfromed a clean install and upgraded to OSX Mountain Lion.
The app store has clearly rembered that I own this software as instead of offering me the option to "buy" the software I am offered the option "accept".
However when I click this button it promts me for Apple ID credentials and then nothing happens. The wheel in the top left corner of the app store simply continues to roll and roll.
On some occasions when I try and accept the software the App store crashes.
I am running OSX 10.8.4
The machine is:
15 Inch Macbook Pro Early 2011
2.2GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.
