Try DFU mode and then restore
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
Or try using this program to place the iPod in recovery mode
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer

iTunes will need to be set up on your computer however you can set up a new Apple ID to use for your iPhone. Really all you need to do is Assign a new Apple ID to your iCloud account.
Follow the link to create a new Apple ID: https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
After you do that, on the device you want to assign a new iCloud account go: Settings > iCloud > Delete Account and then sign in with the new Apple ID.
NOTE: This does not effect iTunes, all of your devices can continue to use one shared iTunes account under your original Apple ID for downloading apps and backups. This simply gives iCloud a place to sync the individual devices information and will stop iCloud form merging all the information, such as contacts, with all of your devices.

Your are likely to find running two different AppleIDs on the same device to be more trouble than it is worth. Apps and content cannot be shared between IDs.

You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Far as your Safari problem do these things until it's resolved:
1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

  • My ipad is disabled and says connect to itunes. I dont know the passcode and I dont have access to a computer , can I restore it without connecting to itunes

My ipad is disabled, I dont know the passcode and I dont have a computer to connect to itunes... is there anyway of reactivating ipad without connecting to itunes?

Sorry but no. You will need to get access to a computer with iTunes somewhere to restore the iPad. You can get help with this at an Apple Store if you have them in your area. Note that if you haven't backed up your iPad to iCloud, you'll lose all your data. Apps and other purchases from the iTunes Store can probably be re-downloaded.
    Regards.

That's because the device has not been synced to that computer.  As per my earlier instructions... you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

My wife and I have seperate Apple ITunes accounts, is there a way to share libraries or the same pc?

    Simple search finds:
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single ...

  • My friend gave me her ipod but i cant get the music to my empty library

i have my friends old ipod with her music still on it. but i cant get the music to my empty library

This friend gave you their iPod, not their media.  The media is not yours and you have no legal right to it.
Restore the device as new via iTunes on the computer.
Purchase your own media and sync it to the device.

  • HT2480 After setting up an "Exchange" account my device, IPad/iPhone, it requires a new passcode to be set before data will be downloaded. I did this on the iPad and now I have to enter that passcode everytime I turn it on. How can I avoid this on my iPho

After setting up an "Exchange" mail account on my device, iPad/iPhone, it requires a new passcode to be set before data will be downloaded. I did this on the iPad and now have to enter that passcode everytime I turn it on. How do I avoid needing to enter a passcode on my iPhone everytime I turn it on?

The passcode is a requirement set by the administrator of the Exchange server you are connecting to.
It is purely for security purposes.
If you do not want the passcode, you must remove the Exchange account. There is no way around it.

  • I restored my ipad today and i put in the passcode and now it is not letting me in and keeps disabling itself. i have reset it twice already and nothing has worked.

i have been trying to unlock my ipad for over an hour.i restored it today and have been putting in the passcode and it won't let me in. the passcode is right.

TRY FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

  • HT204053 my wife and i have seperate itunes accounts is there a way we can link our accounts to share songs so we dont have to pay for the same song twice?

When the first ipad came out i set it up and created an itunes account, since then she got an iphone and an ipad and everything was good. I had an android but wanted to try out the iphone. When i set it up ut jumpled all of our contacts, apps, and everythin. it was a mess.
Since, i purchased and ipad 2 and an iphone and to keep our stuff from combing i used a different computer and created an new apple ID for myself so our info wouldnt combine, I was wondering if i did the right thing or if i should have went about it a different way. I was going to see if there was a way when she purchased a song i could get it. I dont want to pay for the same song twice and only want to share songs. If i cant do this can i copy her library and paste it into my itunes??
Any help wouldl be greatly apprecieated we both have icloud set up but i cant figure out the best solution.

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

  • If I have 2 iTunes accounts, is there any way I can combine them into 1?

I had used the same iTunes account until a few months ago. For whatever reason, my information could not be found so I made a new account. The issue I am having is that on my current iPhone, there are purchases made under both accounts. When trying to backup my phone, I am forced to chose one account and risk losing everything on the other (purchased music and apps). Is there anyway I can combine accounts?

    No.

  • My daughter and I share an iTunes account.  Both of us have synced up to the cloud and now I have all of her contacts.  How can we separate them?

Is there any way to have separate contact groups going to the cloud to your different devices?

I think i understand BUT BUT BUT
my wife has a Cotactsphone book in my AddressBook
My kid has a Contactsphone book in my AddressBook
And i have clearly my own Contactsphone book in my AddressBook too.
How is a seperate cloud going to diferentiate between each book?
In iTunes i could choose to synch the books of choice...
when my phone was conected i chose my contacts only and vice versa for each phone.
I dont see where this function works with a seperate cloud ID
surely they get a seperate cloud ID that syncks with MY ADDRESS BOOK and all its other address books within.
Resulting in back to square one.
where is the synch address book contacts alternatives that were originaly found in iTunes?
