This statement is correct. All of them would be able to be accessing the shared folders at the same time. This is the purpose of shared folders.

Sorry, not trying to confuse you. You mentioned to connect to a local machine at the same time. If you are staying away from RDP, then you won't have this issue. I would keep all shared folders on the server, not on any workstations.
You are correct 2 people can be RDP into a server at once. For client computers (workstations) you are limited to 1 person at a time. If you setup Anywhere Access correctly, then your friends and family should not need to RDP into a
client computer, they should only need to access the shared folders.
Something to keep in mind...for Anywhere Access to work, you will need to purchase a public certificate. You can do this from GoDaddy.com, Comodo or others. I would recommend either Godaddy or comodo. They make it easy and give plenty of instructions
on how to obtain the certificate. You will probably also have to purchase a domain name, and a static IP from your ISP. To fully do what you are looking at, it will take some out of pocket $$. -

Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to transfer ownership of music.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, that way you can each manage your own mail, contacts, calendars, documents etc and avoid unintentional deletions and unwanted editing. If there is information you wish to share between you, this can be done with a secondary account.
Having separate iCloud accounts, doesn't mean you have to have separate iTunes accounts, so whilst you keep your personal data separate, you can continue to share music, apps, books, TV shows, movies etc.
However, you should also consider, she will likely want her own account one day and it may mean she leaves even more music behind if she waits. -
Received computer after Best Buy did the initial "start up"..."User" is labeled "User1" - I can't go into Users and change the user name - even by using my valid Apple ID and password that I created years ago ("wrong password" keeps appearing). Don't know what I'm doing wrong.??
The procedure under 10.7 for resetting your password when you don't know your old password requires your Apple-ID. It may not be willing to reset the password using a different Apple-ID.

Hello, I just bought a MacBook, and it was an open box item that didn't come with any manuals or restore discs. I'd like to get a copy of restore discs to re-format everything since the computer was a display. Does anybody know how to go about getting them? I know the discs are very specific to what model MacBook you have. Thanks in advance for your help...
The manuals you can get online but the restore disks you will need to call the store. If that fails call apple support and tell them what has happened and they will advise you on what to do. If this fails you could by a copy of lepard and you can reformat the HD and reinstall lepard.

I'm new with HTML and CSS, need help
I'm creating a static html webpage for an assignment. Someone suggested to me that I could manually create my webpage using dreamweaver instead of creating it from scratch, which has turned out much easier. However one of the tasks require me to Create a CSS stylesheet to work with my structural HTML. So my question is where is the CSS code inspector (if there is one). Is it possible for me to somehow add this and link it to my HTML?
Sorry if my question isn't clear, I'm quite new to this and have only a general idea of what I am doing.Because the assignment requires me to submit the css and html separately. It means both have to be done is separate Notepad files (this is where I will paste the code from dreamweaker to submit).
I'll save the html as hompage.html and the CSS as homepage.css

With iOS 7, if you don't know the password for the previous owner's ID you're going to have to get the previous owner to remove the device from their account, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.

Recently I started using Creative Cloud and I am loving it. One of the main reasons I joined was to take my small magazine (circ in the hundreds not thousands) into interactive app form. I have paid my Apple fees, created all my certificates and have started the fun part of actually creating the app. But it has come to my attention that I may not be able to do what I want with Creative Cloud; creating an app for my mag and sell new issues from within that app as they publish. From what I can tell I can publish as many SINGLE apps as I want but cannot publish one app for my mag that has new issues added for sale? From what I gather I would need one of the high end versions of DPS which are way, WAY out of my budget.
Can anyone correct me if I am (hopefully) wrong or give some advice how I can still make this work. The mag only publishes about 4 times a year, so would it be unheard of to work around this with four different apps and would Apple be OK with that?

Moved to USA from Australia and I need help with my iTunes account.
Okay so I moved to USA from Australia and I changed my address and all that for the account but when I open iTunes it say that my account isn't valid for use in the United States. So I look into it and it says I need to have no credit left over to change my account from Aus to USA.
Okay so my question is how do I use 15 cents in the iTunes Store so I can change my iTunes so it works, does any one have any suggestions.You can contact iTunes Store support and ask them to remove it - http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ that is, agree to forfeit it and they can remove it.
Or, buy something, and pay for the remainder of the balance with a credit card (if you still have one in Australia you can use?). -

It is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

My daughter got a new ipod touch and set it up using my apple id. Once she sync'ed it, she had all my contacts, so she went ahead and deleted the ones she didn't want. Unfortunately, my iphone then sync'ed to the cloud and all my contacts were wiped out (the ones she deleted).
So, I wiped my iphone and did an icloud backup/restore. This restored all my apps, but my contacts are still the ones from when my daughter did her update. It doesn't appear as though I got back my contacts, even though I chose an icloud backup from before the deletion. Logging into icloud shows the reduced/deleted contacts, not the full list I had, and I can't see a way to revert back to an old copy.
Any ideas? I thought restoring from the cloud would have done it, but the contacts I got were the 'current' copy, not an older/archived copy.
I'd appreciate any ideas. None of the articles I found seemed to address retrieving an 'old' copy of your contacts from the cloud.The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.
