My harddisk no.1 is broken. - no. 2 still functionable. got recovery kit, but it does not work
have swithed no.2 hardisk to no.1 slot

it comes up with failure and can not finish!

If you can still read the 25 character microsoft product key on the sticker on the bottom of your notebook, you can try this...
If you can read your 25 character MS product key, you can make your own Windows Vista installation disk. Just download the 3 files you need at the link below, and read all of the instructions to create a bootable DVD installation disk using imageburn.
When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message that about a WIM file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.
I selected No, make the ISO file.
It was not that hard to do. I burned both the 64 bit disk and the 32 bit disk in case I ever need them.
I tested both of them (just short of going ahead with the actual install) and they appeared to work perfectly.
Apparently when you enter the product key, it knows what version of Vista you have.

After you successfully install vista, you can download the drivers you need from your PC's support and driver page.

It is not always possible to return a jailbroken phone to a pristine state. Jailbroken devices can NOT be discussed here per the terms of service. As for unlocking. It was previously hacked and has re-locked to the original carreir. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Find out who that is and contact them or do as steve359 advised above and try to return it for your money back.

i don't see a way for you to back up your phone, because it will require you to unlock the phone.

Harddisk not found by Windows-XP-Setup + RnR does not work at all !?!
Hi all,
I wanted to recover a my system (R61, 8943-DKG) using RnR from the Windows XP-platform. It took more than 24 hours and "finished" with a reboot saying "windows could not be startet, as the following file is missing or has been damaged: \windows\system32\c_1252.nls. You may try to repair the file by starting the Windows setup from the original CD. Use the "R"-Option to start the setup-repairing" (this is my translation of the german message I got, the exact english wording thus might be different).
Two problems occur and leave me with no options/ideas at the moment:
1) Starting the "R"-Option or the "install new"-option of a windows setup from an XP-CD (from another machine, the ThinkPad came without any CDs/DVDs), gives me the message "no harddisk could be found". In the BIOS the harddisk is found an the hardware check passed.
2) Pushing the blue Thinkvantagebutton while booting starts the Rescue and Recovery software, but after "configuring your system" the laptops reboots, so no chance to start RnR !?!
My questions to the honoured community:
a) Is there any chance to make the harddisk "visible" for the XP-Setupprogram?
b) Do you have another idea how to start the RnR-software in order to at least reinstall windows-XP freshly from the harddisk?

1. You need to go into BIOS and set 'SATA AHCI' mode to 'Compatibility' under hard disk drive option for your HDD to be seen by Win XP CD.
2. Sounds like the partition has become corrupt. To recover you system again, recovery discs are needed. If you have not created recovery discs in advance [http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70804] then you will have to obtain them from lenovo usually for a fee.

Mounting of external usb or firewire harddisk does not work anymore

since two days I have the problem, that my xserve doesn't mount an external usb or firewire harddisk.
The disks are not on the desktop and not visible in Disk Utility.
On my macbook the harddisks work.

On my iPod Classic, the right ear bud does not work and the left one spots off and on. The music works fine on a dock, and I know it is not due to broken headphones (a problem I've encountered many times), because they work fine on other iPods, other headphones have the same problem on this iPod, so it must be the connector in the iPod that is not working. Can I fix this myself, do I need to take it in to get it fixed, or do I need a new iPod?
Yes, if you got very steady hands, and you must have the correct tools to open the Ipod. (which is the most difficult part).
For the parts, you can buy off ebay, the audio jack and cable, less than $20 I think.
Those plastic opening tools that they are selling only works for cases that has been opened before, they dont worked for sealed virgin iPod cases.
The screws are quite tiny, so be careful, it might jump out off the window or into the some hole, so better lay white sheets of paper on the floor.

Touch my ipod touch broken and ill have to getscreen not working

have you tried to reset it by holding the ome and power buttons down at the same time for about 1min or untill apple logo appears, also have you tried to restore the device?
if you attempted to restore the device and its requireing your passcode you may have to put the device into recovery mode, turn the device off, hold home button and plug into computer hold the button down untill the connect to itunes logo comes up
if the screen still does not work its the device and you should prolly either replace it or see if the apple retail store will repair your device -
Isight not working-is it broken?

My isight camera is not working. It does not show up when I use skype, ichat, or photobooth (there is a black screen and a camera with a slash through it instead of the camera).
I've looked through the apple support for advice and no the System profiler does not recognize the isight camera.
I reset the smc and the pram and still no camera.
I have tried all updates.
The only thing I can think is that my camera is broken. I'm not sure if my computer is still on warranty so I don't know how much it will cost to have it professionally repaired. You may have already done this, but be certain you have tried all relevant suggestions from:

If your iSight problem occurs in more than one Apple app and more than one user account on your Mac, the reset suggested there often restores proper function of inbuilt iSight.
However, if after carefully following all the suggestions in the "How to Troubleshoot iSight" article, your built-in iSight still does not work, and if it does not show as a USB device in your Mac's System Profiler, yours is most likely a hardware problem. In that case, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

Broken Timecode during capture in FCP 5.04 Tape does not have broken time?
I am trying to capture video froma mini dv canon camera and fcp is telling me that there is broken timecode. I have checked it with imov with no problem and when I view the tape there is no broken timecodde? can anyone help

joeiMovie does not use timecode.
Canons are notorious for weak timecode and firewire support. Try capturing the tape using another DV player.

It appears that something happened to yur computer/iTunes files. It happens sometimes. To recovery:
- Import the old music into the current iTunes library
- Make sure all the apps are also in the library
- If in the USA and therplaces where iCloud has benn released you can redownload most iTunes puchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- You can always redownload apps at no additional cost as long as you are singned into the same iTunes account the originally purchased them.
- After all the suff in in the iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes.
- Restore the iPod from backup and restore as necessary. -
I tried to update my sons iPad now it won't turn on or off it shows a cable and iTunes symbol tried holding down sleep button & screen button but no luck does this mean it's Broken I've seen posts saying their iPad died after doing updates.

You will need to connect the iPad, via its cable, to a computer's iTunes (you will need an up-to-date version of iTunes installed on the computer), and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync the content to it. -
my iphone 3gs has broken [was in a sort of reboot loop] so that is being fixed and i get it back on Thursday. I may loose all data from it being fixed and that would of been fine as i have a recent back up on my i-tunes. However yesterday my laptop decided to turn itself off and not work anymore so thats going to be going to get fixed soon as well but is there anyway of getting my back up i had on my itunes on a different computer?
