My header changes keep being changed in page setup
For the past few days I have blanked all the headers listed in page setup. I have saved the changes, and to test I exited Firefox and then opened the program and they were still blank. But the next day when I turn on the computer the headers are back. In looking at the troubleshooting information I see there are a lot of printers listed that I have used and tested in the past. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Thanks.

Sorry I have been away from this system forr a while. when I turned it on this morning and launched Firefox it upgraded me to version 31.0.
Attached are three Png files, one is what happens if I try to print to do a print preview. If I try to print a web page it prints the same thing.
The other file is what comes up when I click on page setup. It opens a very wide window that is a copy of the web page that was there when page setup was clicked on.
The Third is what happens to the above page setup window when I drag the window to the left.

My password in network prefs keeps being changed
I am having a lot of trouble connecting to the internet through network prefs pane. I went through a setup with Applecare and had to start again with network prefs. Everything was entered correctly but when I applied the info and then clicked the locked to save changes from nowhere my password suddenly changed from 9 characters to 24 and the pane hung (ie couldn't do a thing with it). |I had to force it to quit which I assume won't save my changes. I have to now eter my password through the internet connect app which connects me fine. Applecare have not ben able to solve. Any help?
I thought I was savvy and seasoned in MacOS 10.4.11 with network prefs but there was still minor quirks like what you describe, only less severe.
Now having finally upgraded to MacOS 10.5.5 (in one fell swoop), I cannot imagine how I ever got by without it. The way it automatically solves connectivity problems is amazing. In system prefs the control you have to limit unwanted access is still there, just made a whole lot simpler.
For example, have you ever tried screen sharing with VNC in Tiger? It's one helluva crazy jumble of little bits to sort through like router firewall and ports and pref panels. Now in Leopard you just do one checkbox -- and be sure to leave all other checkboxes unchecked for protection. And it works!
So perhaps, if you're having so much trouble, it's time to upgrade? -
After an upgrade to Yosemite GM and later the 'release' version, the "computer name" my MacBook Air is announcing to the network gets supplemented with a (##) all the time, where ## is a number of course. This is typically something that happens when a hostname is already considered to be 'in use', leading me to believe something is wrong.
Is anybody else experiencing the same?Yes, there have been a few threads here on this. It may be a bug; I've reported it to Apple. I don't know of anything you as a user can do to really fix it at the moment.

I don't know what happened. All of a sudden, my settings have been changed, my homepage, and EVERYTHING. No matter how many times I go in and change them again, the SAME pages open up when I start FireFox and I am constantly being asked if I want Yahoo as my start page and default search engine. I click the box 'do not ask me again' and it comes up EVERY TIME. I change things like I don't want history remembered, and when I reload FireFox again, it's back to the way it was BEFORE. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don't know why this is happening, or how to fix it. What do I do??
I do not want to download another virus program.. I do not believe it is a virus. I am running the full version of Norton 360 and it is doing a daily scan. I have Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

Can I change header image on one or more pages of a template site?
Hi all,
I have a site I created in D.W CS3. I'm kicking around the idea of adding an affiliate store. I think I might be better served if the store has a different header image than the main site. I can either create a whole new site for the store, or what I'd rather do for now is just make a new page from the main template, and change the header image just for that page to see how it goes. Does anyone know the code I could use to have a page from template override the CSS and use a new header image just for that one page?

I want to remove the header and footer when printing from my mac, I can do this in the Page Setup on my PC but not on the Mac. I can do it each time I print but then it resets. How do I make a universal change?

Every time Firefox openedGo to the "File" menu, then "Print." The window that appears will have three drop-down menus at the top.
The first is labeled "Printer",
The second is "Presets".
The third is unlabeled but has "Copies & Pages" selected by default.
Click on that third menu and select "Firefox" near the bottom of the list. -
I keep getting a warning stating that the document could not be auto saved in pages. The file has been changed by another application. Then it says click save any way to keep your changes and save the changes made by the other application as a version, or click revert to keep the changes from the other application and save your changes to a version.
What in the heck does all that mean, and why are they trying to behave like a Windows product or a Microsoft office product. I just don't get it.
Why is another application changing my documents? It's like they've created a virus within their own programs. It's a pain in the neck and makes no sense.I am also having the issue of a warning saying "could not be auto-saved in Pages. The file has been changed in another application. I then hit "save anyway", the warning will go away for a time, sometimes minutes, sometimes hourr, but then the warming reapprears saying the same thing. This is not the case with all Pages documents but it is the case with many.

I have nine, 1-page PDF files that are accessible and need to combine into 1 PDF file. I have tried appending, adding and the combine PDFs process. The file created is not keeping my changes. The created file is partially accessible but I have to re-fix issues I had fixed in the single files. I need suggestions on what else can be done if any. Using Acrobat pro XI.
Out of habit, I tend to combine PDF files in the Page Thumbnails pane by right-click then "Insert Pages" -> "From File". For me, this preserves the tags from both documents, although the tags may have to be moved into the right location (if I recall correctly the tags for the inserted pages get put at the end of the tag structure, regardless of where the pages are inserted), If I first put the tags for the document to be inserted inside a container tag like Section, it makes the process easier. Moving that set of tags to the right place is the only re-fixing that I recall having to do. What behavior are you experiencing?

How can I change the background in the heading on a new page? When you add WELCOME page the heading color is tan, the ABOUT ME page the heading is light blue, the PHOTOS page the heading block behind the heading text is light green, etc. How do I change those colors?

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select "done", in the upper right corner
sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.
At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Open the webdynpro in Admin mode and then right click on the page and you can Edit whatever text you want in End User Logon page as well as can enable and disable fields according to your requirement.

Canon LBP3300 usb port keeps on changing
Following the guide https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Canon_LBP2900 , I have LBP3300 worked fine.
However I get 2 problems
1. After a some kernel upgrades (which is relatively often in Arch Linux) the port keeps on changing (/dev/usb/lp0, /dev/usb/lp1) which make udev rules did not work properly.
2. "/etc/rc.d/ccpd restart" does not work properly

- The unit is almost only 2 weeks old, but I have just been in the store where I did buy it, and have now being told that it is being sent to Sony to get fixed. So hopefully then I get it back, I don't see this problem anymore
I do however think, that Sony should try to look into this problem, so no customers will get a faillure in their devices anymore, as being described. I have just been unlucky in this accidentally problem. Besides that, I'am very happy for this top modern Android phone from Sony. Keep up the good work Sony!

I'm having trouble with my changes not being saved/published.
I can choose to edit a page, click publish... it then shows the
page (in contribute) with my changes. But, when I go to the actual
website, the changes are not there... and when I go back to
contribute and move around in contribute's view of my website and
go back again to the page I was working on.. the changes are no
longer there.
thoughts? Should I uninstall and re-install
contribute?No, don't uninstall...
First, emty the cache of you Internet Explorer and see if you
can see the changes then.
1. Main menu in IE, go to Extra>(internet)Options
2. go to Browsing History
3. click Remove... (delete/empty, I don't know the text of
the btn in english version) and emty your cache.
Second, change the settings of IE.
1. Main menu in IE, go to Extra>(internet)Options
2. go to Browsing History
3. click Preferences (next to Remove.. btn mentioned above)
4. change the setting for Temporary Internet files so that
the pages refresh everytime you visit the pages. -
PAGE SETUP LOST/CHANGED ON DUPLICATION
Using Pages '09 (v4.3) to produce a custom envelope for printing, discovered a problem of Page Setup info being lost/changed when you Duplicate a file or when trying to print from a template produced from that file.
I set up the file using Merge Fields for the recipients, working from a Master and using the File>Duplicate command to make a copy of the file for examining the output. Everything looked good in the Print Dialogue displays, and also when checking by, for example, Saving PDF to Preview. On running an actual test print, however, it came out a total mess; text on the envelope in the wrong place and the wrong orientation, totally unuseable.
On examination I found that the Master's Page Setup info had been changed in the duplication:
"Format for ....." changed from <My printer> to "Any Printer"
"Paper Size" changed from <My custom size & name> to "Other", although dimensions were retained
"Orientation" changed from Vertical/Portrait to Horizontal/Landscape
This happened each and every time I duplicated the file,and I learned to simply go in and change the Page Setup info before printing. Once happy with the design, I saved the last good Master off as a Template so I could call it up from My Templates for future use. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that the same thing happens from there. Drag the vcards into the displayed file, set up the Mail Merge, and go to Print and all will look well but, once again, actual printouts will be messed up and, on examination, for the exact same reasons.
Page Setup is being messed up in a way that isn't visible on any of the visual displays before actually printing; there, all looks as you think it should and it appears that the printing should go well. The info actually being sent to the printer, however, is incorrect. So, there seem to be two errors here, both linked:
The Page Setup info is not being reflected in the images or icons showing what the printed output will look like, and
The output produced at the printer is not what is shown before you print.
I'm far from a Pages expert so I can't help but wonder: Is there some essential step I've been missing here? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Slight correction to the above: The corruption/change of the Page Setup information occurs as the template is selected, i.e, the new "Untitled.." window opens. If you go ahead and change the info back to what it should have been, what it was saved as when the template was created, then all works normally.
Same is true of the duplication: The setup info changes as soon as you dupe the file. The original will still have the correct info, but the copy now shows the same stale default values (terms used might not be appropriate). -
Page Setup Changes For iCal / Epson R1800

I am trying to print from iCal - using custom A4 paper sizes so that I can hole-punch the paper in an appropriate place. My problem is that when I try to print from iCal, the Page Setup is set at 'Roll Paper'. I can't change that setting and when I try to print on my Epson R1800 A4 sheet-fed paper, it keeps on coming up with paper not loaded error - I'm assuming because it's looking for Roll Paper. I'm getting so worked up about this I fear for the safety of my printer !!!
Any help would be welcomed.after you have changed the print setting in the .rpt itself and if you are still experiencing the same behaviour:
1) first, try to see if just the .rpt itself is changing...i.e. send the report with saved data to someone that is experiencing the issue that also has crystal reports installed. if it is still happening in the crystal reports designer itself, then it is an issue for this forum.
2) if it is only happening in the web application, then you will want to repost to the appropriate sdk forum.
