My HP Photosmart C309a series printer can't find the wireless router 3 feet above it. I ran the diagnostics and got "The wireless radio is not functioning" message. In what device is the wireless radio located? In the router? In the printer? I reset the router, did the #6 with the printer, but I am still unable to connect my wireless Macbook to the printer. My desktop Mac is connected to the printer with a cable and prints fine. Is my router messed up or my printer?

My printer was working fine until I printed something from my laptop? Since then I cannot print anything from any device. I ran a wireless network test report and a HP Network Configuration page and the error message says "Your HP Printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your wireless router is powered on (which it is). Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your wireless router name name (SSID) exactly. I would like to assist you today with resolving the network communication issue that you're experiencing when printing from your Mac OS X 10.6 computer to your HP Photosmart C4780 All-in-One Printer. Because your Wireless Network Test Report indicates that the printer cannot find the Wireless Router, I am going to have you run some standard network troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
Step 1: Powercycle Network:
First, unplug the power cable to your Router
Once your Router is unplugged, turn off your printer
Next, shut down your computer
After 30 seconds to 1 minutes, plug your Router back in
Next, turn on your printer
Turn on the computer
After a few moments the internet connection will return. Please check on your computer and verify that you can browse to websites before continuing.
Step 2: Check Connectivity:
On the front panel of your printer select the Top button to go to the Scan Options
Press the Top Button to go to the Wireless Menu
Select Print Network Configuration
Take note of the IP Address
On your Mac, open the internet browser
In the address bar type in the printers IP Address. Do not include www.
Search to that website
If a website for you printer opens: This indicates that your printer and computer are 'talking' over the wireless network. Please try to print. If printing now works, than your router was blocking communication. This may have been caused by a router update. Usually powercycling the router resolves this issue. Should the issue return, there may be settings on the router that need to be adjusted.
If a website for your printer fails to open: This indicates that the printer and computers are not 'talking' over the network. To resolve this issue please follow the steps below.
Step 2: Restore Defaults:
On the front panel of your printer select the Top button to go to the Scan Options
Press the Top Button to go to the Wireless Menu
Select Restore Network Defaults
Once the restore is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Reconfigure Wireless:
Connect a USB Cable from your printer to your Mac
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Run the installation and when prompted choose that you want to configure wireless
Select your Network Name SSID and enter the Wireless Password (key) when/if prompted
Once the wireless is configured, please test printing again.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue when attempting to connect to a wireless network.
Have you changed the router for a new one?
Make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Make sure that you are with in the 4'-20' range.
You can try the HP Print and Scan Doctor as well. Let me know if you see any error codes or messages.

My HP Photosmart C7280 all in one can't find my wireless router even after I enter my WEP key and ESSID. My other computer is wired into the printer and it works but not wireless. Can anyone help me?

Is the other computer wired with USB? if so that is fine. If it is wired with Ethernet, that is the source of the wireless problem.
What router? Oh, and don't use WEP, it is not in the least secure. I recommend changing your router settings to WPA, create your own password and then try to connect the printer.

Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

My Toshiba Laptop , can't find my wireless router

My toshiba Satellite L500D Laptop , after 9 months after it was bought , can't find my wireless router anymore . I had a look over the internet and have worked out the problem is connected to the wireless finder and it won't fix because the combinatio Fn + F8 is not working ??? I really need help please !!

The Flash cards usually do not fail once installed. For FN/F8 to work you need to have the right utility. Also you need to have working and properly enabled Wireless devices. If they are not then you will not have this option.
Is your wifi actually working. Does it see any Access Points? Can you go to Device Manager to see if the Wifi is not banged out? Not sure but you can check to see if there is a wifi switch on the computer. Look around the edge. Some machine have this switch to enable the antenna.
When you say Flash cards do not work. Is it the FN/F8 only or all cards. FN (F1-F9). If they do not work reply back and I will try to help you with the flash cards and then work on your wifi problem.

The HP Photosmart C309A Printer does not support the ePrint functionality. An alternative to this would be Google Cloud Print which you can read about here : LINK
Most of our new Photosmarts do have the ability to ePrint, as well as AirPrint and iPrint! Definitely remember to check those out.

HP 8500A Wireless All In One has been working fine for ages (minor occasional hickups), but now can't get it to print. Computer still picks up my wirelss network fine. HP 7510 All In One Printer - Can't find my wireless network

I have 2 wireless networks. The printer finds one just fine, but it will not find the second. Even when I disable the 1st network, the printer will still not find the 2nd network.
The second network is a brand new Linksis WAP300N and has a different SSID.
Any ideas?

Thank you for informing me your steps. Have you tried restoring the network defaults on your printer?
If you haven't performed this step please follow:
1) Touch the Setup menu on your touch screen of your printer
2) Next press the wireless menu
3) Go to the very bottom and look for restore network defaults
4) Click yes to confirm these settings
Next perform my steps in my previous post.
You can also try a power cycle of your router. Turn off your printer, restart the computer, unplug the power cord from the back of your router, and wait 30 seconds.
Please inform me if this step worked for you.

Satellite T110-11U - Can't find the WLAN router

Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite T110-11U. Have had it since Feb and loved it - happily used it wireless throughout the house. Then one day about a month ago unless I was in the same room as the wireless router, wireless doesn't work. I have 2 other laptops (and an iPhone) that still connect wirelessly throughout the house and the garden without problem.
As you can imagine, this was very strange. When I take it out in to the garden, my other laptops find all the wireless networks in the area, but my Toshiba finds none.
Suspecting it was a driver issue, I made sure the wireless drivers were up to date. With no joy there, I recovered the system to as it was when purchased (doing a full restore by interupting the booting up and letting the hard disk be wiped and reinstalled etc). Still the same problem. I've even changed the rooms the router is in, and the same problem - the Toshiba can't find the router unless the router is within a couple of metres of the laptop.
Before I lose the will to live, can someone suggest the cause of my problems, or is it time I admitted defeat and took it back to comet under warranty (where the will probably test it next to a wireless router and tell me all is fine!).

Does this mean that the T110 can find the wlan but only if its placed near the router?
Just other hint;
Go to BIOS and set it to default! Ensure hat Wlan is enabled and dont forget to save the changes.
You should also go to control panel -> device manager -> Wlan card properties -> Advanced tab.
Should check the Wlan settings like the Wlan encryption, Wlan channel, etc
Be sure you have enabled the WLan card on your notebook as well!

I have BT home hub which is now my main router in the house. I also have Apple TV which works off the router and a network adapter around the house which is perfect for all my needs. However, I also have a time machine but haven't used it for a while now as it's internal router overrides my current network which causes problems.
Being that i'm not very 'technical' I was hoping someone could give me a 'guide for dummies' instruction on how to turn off the wireless signal inside my time capsule without messing up the BT router?

Apple TV can't find Xfinity wireless router

we have a Mac Book Pro, 2 Iphone's, 2 IPad's and 2 Apple TV's. All devices are connected wireless to the router ACCEPT 1 Apple TV!! I can't figure out why it's not working. Well it was for a few weeks...after an update for the Apple TV is wasn't anymore.
General>Network>WiFi>...nothing..it show's OTHER, click on other to enter the router name manually, can't find...with Ethernet is works just fine..

You need a wireless base station or wired hub. My best guess is that you computer is directly connected to the internet via direct connection to your dsl or cable modem. You need to insert an apple Airport, Airport express, or wired hub. The Apple support page has a lot of info about the use and istallation of LANs (Local Area Network). Page 14 of this manual (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/ManagingAirPort_Extreme_Networksv3.4.pdf) shows the topology of a LAN network.

According to this page, your configuration comes with an Intel wireless card already installed. You shouldn't have to buy a new one to have wireless functionality.
