My HP printers' software is disabled by/not compatible with any versions of Firefox I have ever installed and this is extreme;y inconvenient.

I have Windows Vista as my operating system, I install every Firefox update. An earlier version of Firefox allowed me to use my 1st HP printer but haven't been able to use that printer or a newer one for 2 years. I used to reinstall the software each time but now that doesn't work either.
I want to use my two very good HP printers/software with my laptop.
I have an HP computer and 2 HP printers and want to have them work together.

Is your wretched printer the same model? How about the Mac - and your OS.
I have tried to persuade HP that this should be investigated here:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-printing-and-scanning/Unable-to-send-print-data -Photosmart-C5280/td-p/434623/page/2
Please do contribute to that discussion too, since I assume that HP will be the organisation to investigate/correct any driver problems.

    It is up to HP to make that program compatible with Firefox.
    That application last worked in Firefox 3.5, but HP was always very lax in updating it for a new version of Firefox. Usually they didn't bother to update it until like halfway through the "run" of a particular Firefox version. • HP Simplepass not working with any version of Firefox

    Long story short, after I upgraded to Firefox 6 and discovered my HP Simplepass doesn't work, I reverted back to Firefox 3.6 but can't get any version of HP Simplepass to work. I originally had the Digital Persona version, which I upgraded to the EgisTec version. I currently have version EgisTec 7.0.74.0 installed (supposed to work with FF 4.0 and no luck). I have tried older versions of HP Simplepass with no luck as well. I also tried to go back to my original Digital Persona version, but can't get it to reinstall (1722...error as discussed in other posts here). I can't seem to overcome that either. Any suggestions? I am pulling my hair out.

  • Photoshop CS3 gives me an error "not compatible with his version.."  when trying to reopen files

    Photoshop CS3 gives me an error-
    "Could not complete your request because this file is not compatible with his version of photo shop" when I try and reopen psd's or layered tiffs,
    it usually happens to files over 1gb in size,
    I can open them up in illustrator but not in photo shop,
    this is very annoying, it also happened today in CS2

    "could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of photoshop"
    We've just had te same problem with a PSD file, it could not be opened by Photoshop CS nor CS3, and ImageReady showed the layers empty. So we downloaded The GIMP to give it a try. It took a extremely long time for The GIMP to open the 500MB file, but it did, without throwing error messages. Some layer masks were interpreted incorrectly, and the color profile tag was ignored. But at least the project could be saved to a new Photoshop file, which was opened by Photoshop without error messages except for the color profile tag.

  • I cannot run Airport Setup Assistant as the software is not compatible with my version of OS

    Bought a pair of Airport Express adaptors to link to (a) a BOSE sounddock and (b) one of my TV's to stream music etc.
    Installed the software but my Mac Mini tells me v4.2 is not compatible with my version of OSX.
    When going to apps | utilities I only have Airport Admin Utility (which won't run) and Airport Utility which runs, but doesn't find either of the fuly powered up and plugged in Airport Express devices.
    At the moment, this is an expensive waste of time.  How do I upgrade my software so that I can use these devices in the same way that I already use my Apple TV?
    Cheers.

    If you are running OS X 10.6.7, then you will want to use the AIrPort Utility that came with this operating system to administer your AirPort Express Base Stations (AX).
    Try temporarily connecting them, one at a time, to your Mac using an Ethernet cable, and then, use the AIrPort Utility to configure them.

    hello paisley157, this error might be caused by security programs such as zone alarm - please temporarily disable those programs for the following procedure:
    *download the full firefox setup file from getfirefox.com
    *uninstall firefox on the machine (but don't chose to delete your custom files & settings in the uninstaller!)
    *manually delete all remaining files in the firefox program folder, which usually resides in ''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\''
    *reinstall firefox

    XULRunner keeps saying "error: platform version 20.0.1 is not compatible with >min version=19.0 <max version=19.0" how do i fix this?

    This is caused by a broken (corrupted) Firefox installation where not all files have been updated properly.
    Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 20.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
    Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
    *Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
    If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

    Hi,
    Often the error "The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client" is raised when the unmanaged dll OraOpsX.dll can't be found, can't be loaded, or is the wrong version. For version 10.2.0.x of ODP.NET and .NET Framework 2.x the file should be called "OraOps10w.dll" and should be found in the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin directory.
    Since the ODAC pieces are installed on the same host as the database, are they in a separate Oracle Home or the same Oracle Home as the database software? If there are multiple Oracle Home directories, which one is in the system path first?
    I would start with verifying the version of OraOps10w.dll and the system path on the server. You might also confirm that the Oracle Home directory (and everything under it) has the following permissions for Authenticated Users:
    - Read & Execute
    - List folder contents
    - Read

  • Why does it say that the updated version of Firefox (which I am trying to download) is not compatible with my operating system when I have Mac OS X 10.5.8?

    Why does it say that the updated version of Firefox (which I am trying to download) is not compatible with my operating system when I have Mac OS X 10.5.8? I had an older version of Firefox and it said I needed to update it but that was the message that appeared.

    Sorry, it's because Firefox 4+ are only compiled for the Intel processors.
    There is a separate project for PPC Macs called Ten Four Fox. You might give it a spin when you're tired of 3.6.

  • Bootcamp support drivers "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you are running"

    Hi,
    I've searched everywhere I can think of for a solution to this problem with no success. I see other people have reported similar issues and these have not yet been resolved.
    I have installed Windows 7 32 bit on a new Mac Mini under Bootcamp. When I go to install the Bootcamp drivers in Windows, I get the message "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you are running".
    Other people have reported this issue when trying to install 3rd party software on a 64 bit version of windows but I'm simply trying to install the Bootcamp drivers on a 32 bit version of Windows.
    Is it possible the Mac Mini needs a 64 bit version of Windows installed under Bootcamp? I haven't seen this requirement mentioned anywhere.
    Appreciated all and any help that can be offered.

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
    That's because the Late 2012 iMac and Mac mini only supports the 64-bit Windows 7 version, so the drivers you downloaded are designed to work with the 64-bit version and you can't install them on a 32-bit version. Install the 64-bit Windows 7 on your computer

  • "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.[...]".What can I do?

    I must run a 32-bit programe  on a windows 64-bit operating sistem, and i receive this message:"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.[...]". I tried with Troubleshoot compatibility - didn't
    work. I tried set to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP in file properties window and it didn't work.  What can I do more? I
    must run this programe to acces my database.

    Hello qqnicol,
    What program do you run?
    Please contact the software provider to confirm if this 32-bit program can run in 64-bit Windows.
    As some programs can only run in specific version of Windows, please download the right version of software.
    Most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.
    Device drivers designed for the 32-bit version of Windows don't work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows too.

  • Windows desktop application -- version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running

    I am developing on 64-bit Windows7 Enterprise using VisualStudio 2013.  I created a new Windows desktop VB.net application and just created a release build of the default solution/project targeting "Any CPU".  I provided the EXE to a
    colleague who is also running 64-bit Windows7 Enterprise but receives the following error...
    "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.  Check your computer's system information to see
    whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
    I changed the build configuration to create a "x86" build but my colleague received the same error.  Any ideas why this would be happening (I checked and my colleague has .Net4 Framework installed as well)?  Thank you for your time and
    response!
    Sunish Abraham
    "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.
    Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

    Hi sunisha,
    According to your description, you'd like to run the application in your colleague's computer.
    I provided the EXE to a colleague who is also running 64-bit Windows7 Enterprise but receives the following error...
    If you want to test the application, you could provide the whole Debug folder to colleague instead of the single exe.
    "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
    Check if the collegue's computer is running 64-bit windows:
    Enter Control Panel, click on System and Security.
    Under this, you can view the system type. This will describe whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit.
    You can also try compatiblity mode.
    If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
    Use the following steps:
    1)   Right click on the Program
    2)   Click on Properties
    3)   Click on Compatibility tab
    4)   Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully.
    And if you still have questions, I suggest you deploy the application to the Local Network with clickOnce, then your collegue can install the application from the network.
    #ClickOnce deployment
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t71a733d(VS.80).aspx
    And also, you could recreate a new small application in your computer in Any CPU, then check if this small new application can work well in your colleague's computer. This can judge if the problem is caused by your application.
    If you have any other concern regarding this issue, please feel free to let me know.

  • Another: The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client

    Hi everybody,
    We still have problems with the ODP dll. with our .Net development. I copied all the dlls as mentioned here: [http://splinter.com.au/blog/?p=156] and in many other posts here in the forum. The .Net development works fine on our Development PCs (WIN XP32) and on many other PCs in the company. But we still have some PCs (As well WIN XP32) that come up with the Error: The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client.
    Has anyone an idea???
    Thanks a lot for your help
    Best Jan

    Hi Jan,
    If there has never been any Oracle Client software installed on the machines, it seems unlikely that there would be Oracle policy files and version(s) of Oracle.DataAccess in the GAC. But, yes, the CLR will look to the GAC first for loading the Oracle.DataAccess assembly. I'm not sure what Framework or Domain setting would be involved here if there is no Oracle client installed. Are the machines configured the same as far as Regional/Language settings, etc?
    One thing you might be able to try is to create an application configuration file and enable ODP.NET trace in the file. This is an ODP.NET 11.1 new feature. However, it's possible the error will prevent the trace file from being created. You would create a file named YourApplicationName.exe.config and here is a sample of the minimum content to enable ODP.NET trace:
    {noformat}
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <configuration>
     <oracle.dataaccess.client>
       <settings>
         <add name="TraceFileName" value="c:\odpnet2.trc"/>
         <add name="TraceLevel" value="1"/>
       </settings>
     </oracle.dataaccess.client>
    </configuration>
    {noformat}
    I wish I had an easy answer for you!
