My I pad2 shouted out an alert, repeating it several times then told me to go to the website SSOPM dot com to fix n restore protection. Is this really from Apple or is it Spam or. Threat?

I don't think so...I am pretty afraid to hit anything I don't know about...which is a lot! But when I tried to update my iPad last week or so I had a heck of a time. I had too many questions and I had to be connected to my computer si I could not stop in the store for help. I will have to check with the store on Monday. Thank you.

Based on some Information that my Account iD isn`t valid anymore i opened a second account ID. After several month i found out that both account-ID`s are still in place. Is it possible to request a consolidation of both account IDs from Apple?

After an Update I-Tunes I received an Information that my Apple-ID is not valid anymore. So i opend a new account filling in the same personal informations but using a different Emailadress (Account - ID) and passwort. Now after several month i recognized after syncronizing my new Iphone 4s that both of my Account-ID`S are still activated. Now i have 2 questions.
1. Is it possible to request a consolidation of my 2 Account-ID`s via Apple i-Tunes Support and how this be done?
2. If there is no other way can i cancel my old Account ID within I-Tunes? And if so do i have to buy all App`s and Songs which are related to this Account-ID one more time?

Since posting the above, I have resolved a sensible work-around in regard to ebookstores which prefer us to have separate accounts for our separate Adobe IDs.
However, I really would appreciate it if anyone here can confirm that a DRM controlled book does actually become associated with a particular Adobe ID account at the time of first download to Digital Editions on that PC/device.
Two large book stores have said using my account with them to download books to our two separate Adobe IDs is OK, but I don't want to find my husband is unable to open his downloaded books.

Something has happened during boot up with my video display. It starts out smaller than usual then does something crazy across the screen before correcting itself. Any idea how to correct this?

I recently used my macbook pro for a video presentation. Now when I boot up the computer the moniter does some crazy thing. It starts off small, then some wierd streak comes across my screen, then it finally corrects itself. Does anyone have any idea how to correc this?

If I check a website offer, then try to delete , it refuses to go. I can log out, but then every time I want to use the browser, that site comes up and refuses to go. What can I do?

I am having a very annoying problem with some websites that take possession of the Safari browser. I cannot delete them and when I manage to quit the browser, the next time I bring up the browser this website spews its message once again. What can I do? Quit Safari.
Hold the shift key down and relaunch Safari.
Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the box next to " Remove saved names and passwords".
Click "Reset".
Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
Turn off Extensions if any, and launch Safari.

How to find out what computers user logged on? (not at the moment but history)

I have a user working mid-night shift reporting that he received error message "The group policy client service fail the logon, access denied". He is using multiple PC and he did not remember which PC gave him the error message. How do I find out
which computers he logged on? I have access to my domain OU. I can manage my own Computers and Users objects in my domain (no domain controller in my department)
I searched internet but most of them are finding out which computer user is currently logging on - not the history, thanks.

To fix this error, please follow the steps given below and check if it helps you to resolve the issue :
1. Logon to the machine with a machine administrator account (assuming this issue is with a domain account, if not logon to the machine using another account with administrative privilege).
2. Move the machine to a work-group from domain. (If it was part of one work-group then change it to another one or join a domain.) You could do this through Control Panel\System and Security\System and then Change Settings.
3. Restart the machine and logon with a machine administrator account.
4. Delete your user profile data (or move it a different location) completely from c:\users. "C" in my case is system directory but if you have a different one then use that one.
5. Join the machine back to domain account (or to work-group that the machine was originally joined to), and restart the machine.
6. Logon with your domain account that you were having trouble with. Keep fingers crossed.
If all goes well, you should be logged on.
Coming to the second query, if the user are in DC, you can try our free tool
Lepide last logon reporter that will help you to get the logon details by specifying Domain Name/IP of the Domain Controller, User Name, Common Name and Last Logon Time.

You should be able to do it via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes - if you are using iTunes on a PC then try pressing Alt-S and the Store menu should appear.

knows I'm becoming a big fan of DW.
But alas, there was one drive - on my 2002 iMac G4 "Lamp Screen" whose directory DW couldn't replace. So, I'm letting that drive slowly (or more quickly) fade. But that drive in the meantime has been running in a seemingly normal fashion and the computer it seems, has been operating at normal speeds.
Until Yesterday.
Huge thunderstorms here where I live, twice (very temporarily) knocked out power - only for a few seconds each time. My iMac shut down during the first one. I tried four times to bring her back to life but got only the endless blank blue screen. I thought her drive was finally gone for good. (I already had everything backed up days ago from the preview pane of DW!!) So ....
I started thinking about strategies for installing the system on one of my external drives and booting from there or buying a new drive on which to install the system. But, since the CD / DVD drive on my Macbook is dead I would be needing to utilize the CD /DVD drive on the iMac itself. So I did a firmware boot by holding command-option-O-F at the startup sound and got the white screen. I typed eject-cd / return at the prompt to open the CD tray and put in the install DVD. Then I simply pushed shut the tray and typed shut-down / return at the prompt for shut down. Then I booted from the install disk.
After the computer started up from the disk it occurred to me to go ahead and give Disk Utility another try. I'M GLAD I DID!! It turns out that during the "verify" phase of disk repair the report spat out a new error message besides the "keys out of order" (un-fixable, even by DW since the disk has mechanical problems.) The new error was "invalid volume header." After disk repair finished I immediately ran it a second time to see if the volume header at least was fixed. It did not come up in the report. So I went ahead and rebooted from the iMac drive.
IT'S ALIVE!!! Well, at least for the time being but still ....

Can you think of any substantial disadvantages to installing my system on an external drive for the iMac as opposed buying a replacement internal drive ... I mean, I can daisy chain external FW drives so the only advantage I can see is just a small amount of extra external clutter .... ?

Basically, you can't. There are no adjustments or filters in FCE that could separate the music from the 'shout-outs' and enable you to lower the music and/or raise the voice.
You could attempt a workaround by using noise reduction with a plugin like WaveArts MR Noise but that may or may not work since music isn't a constant type of noise. However, you can download a fully-functional demo to test whether or not it would help.

I haven't seen anything other than Jailbreaking it or recording with a camcorder. I Googled it and the only way is to Jailbreak. I wouldn't Jailbreak though.

i know the work around is to set up the sys-log and configure the sys-log server to send out the mail.

If there are no email alerts when a real server fails the probe and gets put out of rotation, how else will one know that the server is out of rotation.
