My iCloud server is bouncing email

For some reason email addressed to my account is recognized as spam, even though it is not. I checked the sending account's IP address [noted below] with MXTOOLBOX, it isn't coming up bad. Then I checked the account IP listed in the bounce message and likewise. Why is the iCloud server bouncing back emails addressed to me? Here is the bounce notification I received... (obfuscated my email for security reasons).

You have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • TS4083 emails sent from my iPhone do not update the iCloud server or my computer

I have a problem that emails that I send from my iPhone do not appear in my computer or in the sent folder in the iCloud server. Any help with this? I have a lot ef sent emails from my iPhone that I don't want to lose!!

Yes, iCloud is my default mail.
The problem I see with deleting the account is that I fear I will lose the sent mails which are only stored in the iPhone but nowhere else. I have also realised that the only emails that the iCloud server Sent foilder has stored are the ones that I sent from my Macbook and not the ones I sent from the iPhone. So in Summary:
    - Emails sent from MacBook Air - stored on the iCloud server and MacBook
    - Emails sent from iPhone - stored on Sent folder on iPhone
    Any further thoughts?

  • I am not receiving emails from a static IP address becasue icloud server thinks its spam when it isn't

I am not receiving emails only from on preson. they get a message bumped back to them indicating that there is a DHCP block from there static IP address. What I gather is the icloud server thinks these emails are spam coming from the IP address so it's blocking it. How do you unblock it becasue it's not spam?

the email provider is icloud.com email address. It has blocked a specific static IP address that is a customer I do regular business with. I get all other emails just fine. I event sent an email to myself from my work email which is from a static DHCP server and  it went through with no problems. It appears the icloud server has blocked a specific IP address because they think it's spam or something in a title of an email may have looked like it had illegal content. So I guess the email provider is Apple? Who do you contact? I know that they can change this by unmasking the IP address.

  • Emails to/from server always bounce to some domains

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I've wasted 2 full days and sporadic time throughout the last 3 weeks on this.
I recently migrated a site from Server 2003 to a new Windows Server 2008 server. Ever since the move, my emails to and from my email address bounce from the server. I've spent 3 weeks with tech support on both ends getting nowhere.
Here's a rundown of the problem and what I've done about it:
Problem 1: Email from my domain (call it mydomain .tld) sent to the new server (call it serverdomain .tld) always bounces
Emails sent from mydomain .tld to serverdomain .tld get bounced back INSTANTLY with the error "550-The mail server could not deliver mail to "user@ serverdomain .tld".  The account or domain may not exist, they may be blacklisted, or missing the proper
    dns entries."
Problem 2: Email from serverdomain .tld sent to mydomain .tld always bounces
Emails sent from serverdomain .tld directly to mydomain .tld always bounce back after a 5-10 second delay with the error "550 Sender verify failed."
All emails were sent directly from server to server using webmail interfaces.
    Possible problems/solutions I've explored:
    Spam Filtering:
The new server's mail server (SmarterMail 2010) has spam filter bouncing disabled. No blacklists or greylists are defined.
The server hosting my email account is a shared hosted server, so I don't have access to its spam settings, but I have been assured by their technical support that the server's IP address is not blacklisted or blocked in any way.
Blacklist tests at MXToolBox.org all come up clean.
    SPF Records:
I have defined an SPF (TXT) record for the domain "v=spf1 ip4:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -all", which points to the IP address of the mail server / web server. I do not have a type (SPF) record as Windows Server doesn't have an option for this type of record.
SPF test passes without errors at www . kitterman.com/spf/validate.html. Test email through spf-test@ openspf.net returns no errors.
    Reverse Lookup:
I have a working reverse IP set up and is confirmed by checking it at ipadmin.junkemailfilter.com/rdns.php that points back to serverdomain .tld.
    Testing through Telnet actually works:
I followed the steps at technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123686.aspx to log into the SMTP server on the new server's end and was able to successfully send an email manually to the new server, even using the same email address that keeps failing to send
    directly to the server.
    Some observations from the logs:
When sending email from mydomain .tld to serverdomain .tld, NO LOG ENTRIES are created at serverdomain .tld. This leads me to believe something is blocking it before it ever connects to the server.
When sending email from serverdomain .tld to mydomain .tld, the following log entries are created:

I'm totally at a loss. This is not just blocking email to/from me, but it has blocked email to at least one other domain name as well. I can get no useful help from tech support on either end.
(I had to put spaces in all links in this post because it wouldn't let me post links. Also, this forum crashes every single time I try to post in IE9, but works fine in FireFox. How ironic is that...)

    I can only help with Exchange, but generally speaking, that line;
13:02:57 [60055] RSP: 550-The mail server could not deliver mail to user@ serverdomain .tld.  The account or domain may not exist, they may be blacklisted, or missing the proper dns entries.
Mean the server checked the GAL (it's global adress book) and it refused it. It's usually a simple antispam and antirelay configuration. The strange thing is the log after, that the email is received...
That lead me to think the antispam software/hardware is badly configured, and for a reason X, it does not block the email from passing by it's filter. So yes, their answer is correct, but that mean all email is filtered in some way, so it's not
    correct in some way too.
Does they configured your domain alias correctly and such basic information ? I have a big doubth at this point.
Run some wireshark to be sure the problem is not in your CIE, and after pass that to their IT's tech, if the email is sent correctly, and you receive a server answer back, then something in their config is not ok.
Don't forget that if the packet X is sent on your WAN to their datacenter, they are responsable for the correct receiving when it enter their datacenter.
(edited: A last point; don't forget they HAVE to run a antispam's box, as the MX is the same IP, so basicly the antispam box dispatch the email to the correct server (like check
https://www.barracudanetworks.com/ns/downloads/Setup_Guides/Barracuda_Email_Security_Service_SG_US.pdf) you will see what I mean, a list of domain and server)

  • Can I search email archive on iCloud server from iOS device, or can I only search what it has downloaded locally?

Can I search email archive on iCloud server from iOS device, or can I only search what it has downloaded locally?
I currently have an iPhone and iPad, and am soon changing over to a Mac. When that happen I'd like to try to see what I can migrate over from the Google ecosystem to the iCloud ecosystem.
    1) Currently I have the Gmail iOS app (a webapp container) that can search server-side of several years of email archive.  Can iCloud do this using the iOS native mail application?  Or is the search just limited to what the device has downloaded locally?
    2) Do I have to use a @me.com address for the full iCloud email sync to take place between server, Mac, and iOS devices?
Believe it or not I've read quite a bit about the iCloud services, but the answers to these questions were far from clear.  Many thanks for the help.

    2)  iCloud only syncs email between .me/.mac addresses.  For other accounts like google, you set up the account in the mail app and if they're IMAP accounts, you can sync between the google server and any devices you have defined that account on.
I'm not absolutely sure about 1) since I haven't had to search going back years - I use MailSteward for that on the mac.  On my iPhone/iPad, when I go into a mailbox and the emails are not immediately available, it downloads them.  I suspect for a search, you need the emails downloaded.

  • ICloud server blocking Earthlink forwarded emails

Looks like a problem that has happened before with respect to blocking of Roadrunner emails sent to people with me.com email address has resurfaced, this time with Earthlink. I have an old Earthlink account (at least 20 years old, which I keep only because of the number of online accounts linked to this email - almost 1000), and I have email forwarding set up on it to forward all emails to my me.com account, where I can review it at home or on one of my mobile devices. It has been working well for about 8 years.
Today, however, messages sent to my earthlink.net address are being bounced back to the sender due to this error:
    host mx4.me.com.akadns.net [17.172.34.66]: 550 5.7.0 Blocked - see https://support.proofpoint.com/dnsbl-lookup.cgi?ip=207.69.195.100
It seems that the spam filtering service, proofpoint (who was at the root of the problem with roadrunner blocked emails before), has blacklisted several of Earthlink's IP addresses, probably because they were the source of some email spam. However, there are many legitimate emails also being relayed via these IP addresses, which are being blocked. I called Earthlink, and basically wasted 90 minutes talking to a level 1 tech ("try restarting your computer") and his supervisor ("it's Apple's fault, not ours"). I spoke with Apple, who was more receptive, but unable to help (escalated to iCloud engineers). I personally entered the IP information on ProofPoint's website via their online form for such inconveniences. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.
As an aside, I wish I could just jettison Earthlink after all these years - it's an archaic system, with horrendous email. But, I just don't have the time to go to literally hunderds of websites to update my email address. Anyone have any solutions that have worked for them?
    Thanks!

Still no resolution on this issue after 48 hours. Emails forwarded from Earthlink to iCloud are still bouncing. I submitted the culprit IP addresses to Proofpoint (for me it was addresses in the range 207.69.195.98 - 207.69.195.101 - there may be many more, of course). If you haven't submitted this info to Proofpoint yet, it's probably a good idea to do so at:
    https://support.proofpoint.com/dnsbl-lookup.cgi
Enter the IP address that is being blocked (based on the email bounce message your sending parties receive), and then add your name and destination email address. Hopefully, Proofpoint will open up the corresponding IP range.
For now, I just added my Earthlink account onto my Mail.app accounts and onto to my iPhone (POP). I wish Earthlink had IMAP capability. What an archaic system!

  • HT4864 does email remain on icloud server indefinitely

does email remain on icloud server indefinitely?

Until you delete it or run out of space. (whichever comes first)

  • HT5622 Can I setup a business apple ID ? I'd like to use icloud as our business email server ?

How can I use icloud for my business email accounts ?

If you mean that you want multiple people in your business to have email accounts, then iCloud is not yoru answer since you can't have multiple separate email accounts. You can have multiple "aliases", but they all are tied to the primary iCloud mail account and not completely separate as would normally be needed for multiple users. All the email will appear in the primary account regardless of the alias a message sent to.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4897
So unless you have unusual requirements, iCloud probably will not be suitable. I'd suggest you look to other services for your business email.

  • I just moved to iCloud and now my email is not working on my non compatible MacBook, but all other devices seem to be working.

I have several Apple products, some eligible for iCloud and some not.  I was using MobileMe and elected to keep my email address after June 30.  I moved to iCloud and everything seems to be working except for my MacBook that couldn't be upgraded to Lion so not eligible for iCloud.  Now my email doesn't work on that machine.  What's wrong?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • HT204053 Can I log into iCloud with an alias email?

Noob here, did a search and couldn't seem to find an answer. (or I didnt look hard enough. ) So aplogies if these have already been asked before.
I want to change my iCloud email address, but I've searched around here and read that you can't change it once you create it and link it to your apple ID. So, I created an alias and was wondering if you could log into iCloud with an alias email?
For example if my iCloud address is [email protected] and my alias was [email protected], could I go to icloud.com and login using [email protected]?
Also, what are the proper steps to get the alias email to behave like the icloud primary email;I stupidly chose a dumb icloud email address and regret it, and if I set the alias to be the only email to be able to send mail in my iphone and macbook, can I basically ignore the primary icloud email and use the alias the whole time to send and compose mail?
Also, I don't necessarily need to know/use the primary icloud email, since I use my apple ID to log into icloud.com?
From what I understand, the primary icloud that is linked to your apple ID is mail server, right? I'm not really sure, to be honest.
    Thanks!

In the Mail application on your Mac, add the aliases, separated by commas, to the 'Email address' field in Preferences>Accounts>General. They will then appear in the drop-down menu for the 'From' address in the New message pane.
They already appear in the equivalent place in the new message pane at icloud.com.

  • Suddenly Bounced emails - Is there something changed or bugged with the HPePrint services?

    Hello,
We are using HPePrint with several printers on different locations for over a year now, without any real problems.
But since yesterday, we get bounced email our of the blue. Nothing changed on our end, same email adresses used, but now our people all get the following error (except for the Received-From-MTA, which is different for most people from different offices):

What gives? Is the service REALLY unavaible for 2 days now, which I can't imagine from a large company as HP with it's prime marketing service ePrint.
We checked Spam/Blacklists to be sure that our Mailservers and office IPs aren't listed suddenly, and they are all not listed anywhere, so this can't be the problem.
Please explain what suddenly changed, and we missed somehow, or what we should change/update on our ends to get this working again, as it did up to a few days ago.

For those who are experiencing ongoing issues with their web services, you can attempt to try the following steps that may help resolve your problems.
1.)    Completely shut down your printer and restart it
2.)    If you have prints that have not printed, log into ePrint Center (or create an account if you do not have one) and then look for your printer status. If printer status is green but you still have pending jobs, delete the pending jobs one at a time (Starting with the oldest first). There may be a print job stuck in the queue that further restricts other jobs from completing.
If option 1 or 2 above still doesn’t work, removing web services and re-adding web services will cause the printer to reattach to the cloud.
Please note that if you attempt option 3, you will get a new eprint email address (and lose your custom one with no ability to get it back) furthermore, you will need to re-add your printer back to your ePC account.

  • Mail app constantly synching with iCloud server after upgrade to Mavericks

Since upgrading to Mavericks, Mail has been constantly synching with the iCloud server - and I mean constantly. I know this because I have the Activity window open. Consequently there is often a significant lag between clicking Send on a new message and it being sent, or new messages being downloaded. I have another iMac at my office and the same problem is being experienced there.
I left the computer running all night to see if it would eventually sych everything, but it seems to be going in a constant cycle ever since the upgrade.
If it means anything to anyone, the Console window displays a continuous stream of data similar to this:
    9:24:37.448 am fseventsd[48]: implementation_added_client : failed to add client for path /Users/Kevin/Library/Mail/V2/AosIMAP-kbish…
    9:24:37.449 am fseventsd[48]: implementation_register_rpc: implementation_added_client() => 22
    9:24:39.808 am fseventsd[48]: implementation_added_client : failed to add client for path /Users/Kevin/Library/Mail/V2/AosIMAP-kbish…
    9:24:39.809 am fseventsd[48]: implementation_register_rpc: implementation_added_client() => 22
Can anyone offer any advice on what the problem might be and how I might fix it.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

No solution here, but I have either the same or a similar problem. Apple Mail with Gmail (IMAP) used to work fine with Mavericks.
Now with Yosemite most emails load ok, but some show the spinning wheel and "Loading..." message forever. These messages never load.
I also have Thunderbird and it loads and shows these messages just fine. The messages that don't load in Mail are simple plain text messages so it's unrelated to complex attachments and such.
Clearly something is broken in Yosemite that wasn't broken in Mavericks.

  • EX2010 Hard Bounce email from one specific domain

    Hi
I have exchange 2010 install no edge role as i use a smart host. lately it seems exchange is bouncing mails from a particular domain, i view the logs in smart host and see the remote host as my external IP. The smart host vendor is saying that its my exchange
server which is bouncing the mail but since i have no edge role. i am puzzle why my server would bounce those mails

ah you have ex 2010. ok let me capture the screen shots for you.. but please let me know do you have any SPAM protection installed like forefront/ Mcafee or Symantec etc or its just plain exchange with inbuild security. if inbuilt security then go to ECP
-> server config -> hub transport and there enter the IP address of destination server whose mails are getting bounced.
make sure in organization config.. --> hub transport -->IP allow is enabled.
Mark as useful or answered if my replies helped you solving your query.

  • OSX Mail will not connect to iCloud server?

    Hi all,
I realise that this has been asked before but nothing suggested seems to work for me? Basically the Mail app will not connect to the icloud server? I use a @me.com email address. The error I get is:
The server returned the error: The connection to the server “p01-imap.mail.me.com” on port 993 timed out.
I cannot for the life of me change this server address. I think I need to lose the p01 part? I have tried deleting account and adding it back but still the same. The strange thing is that the settings on my home iMac seem to be the same but it is my Macbook pro with retina that will not connect. I am completely up to date with latest software on Mavericks. Mail is working for my work email on an exchange server so I know that app iteslef is working. Its been like this for a few weeks now but I thought it was just my work network blocking it but only just realised it is happening at home as well where it used to work.
    Any advice gratfully received.
    Thanks
    Chris

the 'p01......' is correct, so is the port 993. I would recomend opening mail and selecting Mail>Preferences>Accounts and then highlighting your icloud account and delete it by clicking the "minus" button, then add it back again.

  • Ironport alt-mailhost filter and bounced emails.

    Hello!
I have problem with ironport configuration and hope someone help me )
I use filter with alt-mailhost rule for users within domain but located on another server.
It's work fine. But... i have problem with bounced emails. They don't affected by filter and use smtp route.
How to attach my filter with bounced emails?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,
bounce email messages are handled outside the work queue so they are not subject to Message Filter or Content Filter processing. Only SMTP routes will apply here, an alt-mailhost action is not possible.
The only possible workaround would be to loop the delivered bounce message over the appliance again (e.g an SMTP route that points to a secondary listener on the appliance), so that it can be reprocessed by alt-mailhost. Please note that looping certain messages over the appliance again bears the risk of an endless mail loop so you may need to adjust your filters accordingly to prevent this.
Hope this helps. If not, please let us know.
    Regards,
    Martin
