My Imac 24" alu screen will not go to sleep!

Just got my new Imac Alu 24" 2,8 Ghz with the Geforce card.
In energy savings i set my monitor to go to sleep after 10 min.
But nothing happens!
Any tips on this issue?
My Imac will run 24h a day in this is not good!

I have found interesting soultion how to manually turn off display in windows XP on Mac or Macbook:
go to control panel - nvidia nview desktop manager.
There set a hotkey to switch display to TV. If you then use that hotkey - you will simply switch off your main display. And than if you use a hotkey again you will turn it on. So that's it

I've read a ton of posts, and it seems that others have similar problems.
Here are some details: I have a 2 year old iMac now running updated install of Yosemite. I have a brand new MBP running clean install of Yosemite.
I have a 2 year old AirPort Extreme connecting my home wireless LAN. How can I get my MBP to connect to my iMac using Back to my Mac once the iMac has gone to sleep. Back to my Mac works if all computers are active.
The appropriate energy saver selections have been made. Leaving the iMac awake is not an option.
it just doesn't seem to work. No wake on wireless LAN?

Someone else may come along and have an idea, but as far as I know the iMac shuts off wifi when asleep so it can't be used to wake up the Mac. It has to be a wired connection.
Leaving the iMac awake with the display off really doesn't use much energy so it might be worth considering.

If your iMac is not starting up normally you may need to do some checking to make sure things are working correctly. I would suggest starting with the steps in this article -
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck - Apple Support

My screen will not open. I get the Apple and the little whirligig but that is it. It just keeps going around for about four seconds.

Try starting up in Safe Mode. If all seems fine in Safe Mode, restart and see if that helps.

Okay. I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Double click the home button (square) and all the things you did are there.keep sliding the bar that will come up on the bottom to the left till it cant go anymore there should be a icon looking like this.press that and it should work

If the costs are $500 or over, consider using the money toward a new or "newer" (used) Mac.

My IPad mini screen will not unlock. It was fine one minute and the next, I couldn't slide it to unlock it.

Does anything happen when you touch the screen, the slider doesn't get a box around it (which would indicate VoiceOver being 'on') ?
If not then have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

The button on the right is the rotation lock... Turn it off.

Try charging the iPhone via a wall socket for at least 30 minutes then try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

I'll presume that you can adjust the brightness after bootup. If that display preference is kept in PRAM, it's possible that the PRAM battery is wearing out.

To test that possibility, turn off "Set date and time automatically" in the Date & Time panel of System Preferences (if it's set), shut down and unplug your Mac, then let it sit for a few minutes. When you reboot it, check the system date and time. If the PRAM battery is failing, those may be set incorrectly.

Screen will not return

when in a phone call if I need to access my screen, to select an option, the screen will not come back. Has anyone had this happen?

QUICKLY press the on/off button on the upper right side of the phone and the screen should return. Do not hold the button in!

Double tap the home button (opens multitasking) and scroll one page to the left. All the way to the left there will be a gray icon with a swirled arrow - just tap it once and the orientation lock will be turned off.
