i have tried to upgrade to the latest version of i tunes. I have been unable to do so as when it gets 2 thirds of the way through the installation a message appears saying that i have lost the installation source for apple software update any ideas of how to get this back and install itunes again?

On the MBP, in iTunes, switch to Song view and enable the iCloud Status column by pulling down View > View options and selecting the option for "iCloud Status." Close the small window. Look for any tracks that have a status of "waiting." If you see several of them disable iTunes Match while holding down the Option key. Quit iTunes, wait a few seconds, then open it again and turn iTM back on. Let it compelete the scan. Wait until all tracks that are "waiting" have a status of either "matched" or "uploaded."
On the iPad, turn off iTunes Match then launch the Music app and let the contents clear out. Power cycle the iPad for good measure, then re-enable the service once all the tracks in iTunes have been processed. -
When I insert a disk, a disk icon does not appear on my desktop, nothing happens and there is no option to eject. I have to restart in order to eject the disk. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

my ipod touch 4th generation, is stuck on the apple turn-on screen where you turn it on, but all you see is the apple. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I've created various playlists on my iphone5. Everytime I sync my phone with itunes on my PC I lose these playlist. Any ideas on how to stop this happening? I've tried various methods but the sync always results in the playlists which I've set-up on itunes on my PC over-writing my mobile created playlists. Having just purchased an iphone 5s I want to ensure that my iphone playlists transfer over ok to my new phone.

my ipad continues to drop the wifi connection. I can get it to re connect for awhile but then the ipad loses the connection. any idea how to fix this problem with the Ipad, it is very frustrating!! I have reset it, tried shutting it off and on, turned on airplane mode and then back to wifi etc??

I followed your advice to the letter and it was unfortunatley unsuccessful....

I was trying to backup my iphone to the computer, I got some message that said it didn't finish an update and now the iphone is stuck. It has the itunes symbol and the usb cable picture on the screen, any ideas as to how to clear this???

i recently lost my iphone 4 so im trying to reacivate my older iphone. unfortunetally with it will not syc with itunes so there is no way to activate it. i need this thing activated ASAP so any help is greatly appreciated.

I have just today recieved a brand new iPod Touch 4th generation iPod with the latest update. Everything else on the ipod is working and my computer is able to read the camera fine, but iTunes cannot recognise it - even after restarting and trying different USB ports and cables. There is nothing at all coming up on the device list and iTunes is working as it would if I had no iPod plugged in. This is my first iPod on this computer and I have already tried redownloading iTunes. My computer is a windows XP computer. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem?
Since this is an XP machine, which version of iTunes do you have installed? Is it the latest version?
Have you tried starting iTunes, attach the USB end of the cable, then while holding the home button on the iPod connect the 30-pin connector end of the cable to the iPod...that is the recovery mode but also should make iTunes see the iPod.
If that doesn't work you may need to take the iPod back and have it tested by the genius bar techs to make sure the connector is not bad.
