My internet explorer session terminates when I try to access a PDF file (eg my XCapitolOne bank statement or nist time request). I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader with no change.

What is your Reader version?
Can you try to disable Protected Mode (Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)).

Have been here before but still have not resolved a fix for a black screen when I try to access a PDF file using Safari...Now I've got a new iPad and need the User Guide which is only available in PDF and FireFox will not work.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Restart your IPad. Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

• Firefox closes when I try to view a pdf file

when I try to view a pdf file a warning comes up and firefox closes

I am not sure what is happening, but if you are unable to open pdf file whilst they are on your computer, it is unlikely that you will be able to open pdf files that are on the internet.
I am not sure your problem is with firefox, because it seems you may not be able to open pdf files even with another application such as Adobe Reader.
The runtime error message is probably generated by your OS Vista, and indicates you have a problem with whatever you are trying to run.
* see MS link " What is a runtime error? "
Post back again once you are able to open ordinary pdf files that are on your computer.

when I try to download a pdf file all I get is a black screen

Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Your file association is corrupted; reinstalling or repairing Adobe Reader will likely fix it.
If you want to fix it manually, tell us your operating system & version.

• When I try to open a PDF file the reader flashes on the screen then closes

When I try to open a PDF file the reader flashes on the screen then closes. I have to open the reader, then search for the pdf file through the reader. I'm using Adobe Reader 11.0.5 with windows 7 service pack 1 home premium. Is there any way I can just click on a PDF file and the reader automaticaly opens? I purchased the upgrade so I can convert PDF to Word but it didnt make any difference.

Some things to try...
Update Reader to version 11.0.06
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

• After having upgraded my MacBook to Snow Leopard, the following error message pops when I try to access iTunes: "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a new version of iTunes".  I cannot now access iTunes.  How can I resolve

After having upgraded my MacBook to Snow Leopard, the following error message pops when I try to access iTunes: "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a new version of iTunes".  So, now after the upgrade, I cannot access iTunes.  How do I resolve this??
Thanks

zepel has it, but perhaps some more detail will help.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Uninstall Reader. Use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Tool. They try re-installing Reader 9.2
