My Iomega external HDD can no longer be read by my Macbook Pro *Please Help*
The day before my problem began my external was working fine then the next day I plugged it into my mac and now it can't be read. I get a message that says it can't be read with the options to eject, ignore, and initialize. When I click initialize it sends me to disk utility where I see the HDD but it doesn't say Iomega like it usually does instead it says External Raid Media. To make things worse it says it's not partitioned. I can't even verify or repair disk because the options are greyed out. I tried restarting, opening it up to see if it was a physical problem. I don't know what to do any assistance will be appreciated.
Do a reset.. power off the TC..
Hold in reset and power on.. keep holding in reset until it flashes rapidly.. if it turns on at all.
If you bought it in June.. take it back today.. it is broken.. at a guess.
Some Gen4 are failing this way.. get Apple to replace it.. even if it is a few days out of warranty it won't be much.

Did you go on-line and fix your billing information? You probably need to do this from iTunes on your computer, not your phone.
If you've double checked your credit card info and it still won't take it, contact your card issuer. -

Iomega external HDD - Should you eject them or just switch macbook off?

I have an Iomega eGo HDD (Mac Edition) which I connect to my macbook via Firewire 400 and backup using Time Machine. It doesn't have a power switch on the HDD. When I want to switch my macbook off should I right-click on the Iomega icon on the desktop and click on Eject "Iomega_HDD" and then unplug the firewire cable and power the macbook off? Or can I just turn the power off on the macbook and leave the HDD connected?
Any help appreciated as the online support for the HDD doesn't mention this? I know the mac sometimes gives error messages if you disconnect devices without exiting them properly, so I just want to make sure I'm doing it right and not damaging the HDD. Can anyone help please?You can just shut down the computer (as long as the HDD stays plugged in till it's done shutting off). Finder will automatically eject all disks before shutting down.
Just make sure to eject if you're unplugging, that's all! -
Upgraded to v. 6.0.1, can no longer burn CDs. Details below. Please help!
Like many other users, I can no longer burn CDs since my recent upgrade to version 6.0.1. I was able to burn CDs with no problems before this upgrade, but now when I click "Burn Disc", iTunes freezes with no error message. I have to exit out using Ctrl-Alt-Del, as iTunes is not responding.
I have a Gateway Profile 4 with Windows XP Pro. CD diagnostic info is below for both blank and recorded CDs.
Please help this frustrated user!!!!

Try updating your drives firmware. Click 'Firware Updates' on the right hand side of this page, then follow the instructions and download the update, then install. See if that helps. Its worth updating the firmware anyway :P -

Look in the headphone output, is there a red light?
If so, try plugging and unplugging your headphones, also try a different set of headphones,all the jacks are noe exzctly the the same size, if there is a red light it means the MBP is in digital mode. You can try rebooting with headphones plugged in, or cut the end off a Q tip and GENTly insert it in the headphone jack and GENTLY "massage" it, stop at he least bit of resistance, this will some times free up the the micro switch that does the digital thing. -

I changed the country from US to Mexico in my App Store Account. Now I can´t reinstall iLife apps onto my Macbook. When I try to download them, a message says that they are available in my purchased apps, but they don't appear under that menu. Please help
The issue is that you purchased the apps in the US app store, not in the Mexican App Store.
If you set your App Store back to US, then you should be able to access your purchases from teh US Store. -

I have treated myself to a Macbook pro. I have had a macbook from 2008 it has Lion on it. I can't transfer all my information and applications from the old one to the new one...I have logic Pro 9 and Final Cut express, which I bought from apple but haven't got the disks anymore after a fire. What can I do? Tried the ethernet connection and the firewire thing...it's not seeing the old machine. Please help!
I tried to use the migration assistant and had the old Macbook in Target mode but there was no reaction at all. It didn't recognise that there was anything attached. Tried time machine but it won't recognise that there is old backups at all - just starts it as a new time machine.

Hi I have an apple tv 2. I don't recall the last time I updated, but I was always advised against it. I was turning on apple tv but had tv on wrong output and I guess I accidently hit update. It says not to unplug or turn off, so I went ahead and let it update. I have a collection of old movies that I owned before RedBox came out, so I downloaded them to my itunes library. Now a lot of my newer movies will not show up on my playlists. Movies that were there before. Anyone know what happened, but better yet, please tell me there is a way to undue this new update? PLEASE!

My Time capsule did a backup yesterday in the morning without any problem. All of a sudden, it disconnected from the wireles system last night and the little indicator lamp turned off. It still makes a noice, as if a disc was turning inside. The Time Capsule was bought last year in June. Any suggestiom what to do? What happens if I press the little buttom (reset?), will I loose af my backup?

I got my notebook this summer and I am terrible with electronics. I am unable to update my macbook pro and there are many things I am unable to do because of it. I have tried everything but it always says it is unable to save. Please, if anyone knows how to help please do!
What are you trying to update? Where are you downloading the software? What apps? Maybe your hard drive is full, but I would expect a different notification.
