Help this smart cover scratches and damages my iPad 2
It started out fine when I got it but after a while it got dirty and well u know the rest

Agreement with skyupi. To clean mine, I just got my hands soapy and rubbed it on both sides. Rinse it off and I'd set it to dry. Cleans real well.

Ipad smart cover auto unlock clock and status bar issue after ios7

Im using an ipad mini with apples smart cover (auto lock/unlock enabled), it used to show the lockscreen(before swipe) whenever I opened the case, but after ios7,whenever I open the case,its already swiped and I have tu enter my code.
the bug is that you have no clock in the status bar on the code screen. whichs forces you to enter your code each time you open the cover just for checking the time! or swiping back to the lockscreen.
any fixes?

I know.. it was better in iOS 6..
To make the clock (time) appear without entering the code simply Tap the Screen once.
For example:
While holding the ipad in the landscape position peel the cover open just enough to get your thumb under the cover and tap just below the battery indicator.

No, because you scratched it, not Apple. Furthermore, it is going to be hard to prove that the smart cover caused the scratches on your device, and that they were not in there earlier.

Obviously it shouldn't do this. Either the Smart Cover is defective - or your iPad is too sensitive. See last comment in the following similar discussion - Apple replaced the person's iPad.

Go to Settings > General > Lock / Unlock and turn this ON (Green).

How can a new iPad smart cover of polyurethane having moister problems

I bought the New iPad with a smart cover, Now after 3 months one side of the smart cover is getting lose and I sent it bach to the store after investigation he said apple doesnot give any garantee becos of moister issues. How is this possible as polyurethane doesnot absorbe moister.

Yea, I know, I figured it out shortly after. I feel kinda silly now but it just seemed too easy after all the fuss with Apple support. Like I said, if they don't really know what their talking about they go off in all sorts of crazy directions. I wasn't even having Compressor issues like so many others do (told ya my computer never lets me down). Not sure what the lesson here was, Apple Care is usually pretty helpful (or atleast moreso than other tech supports), but next time I'm having trouble with anything remotely music related they will be the last ones I call.
By the way, thanks for the reply anyway and reading my lenghty complaining. I really needed to blow off some steam after that needless ruckus.

IPad 2 Smart Cover

When you fold the Smart cover behind the iPad so that it is laying flat against the back, do the magnets hold it there?

While looking at a Smart Cover in the Apple Store on the 12th, I tried turning it over and mounting it on the back with the outside away from the iPad. I wanted to see if it would mount backwards like that so that when I am using the iPad on a table, I wouldn't have to worry about the inside protective fabric that normally goes against the screen being gunked up by stuff on the table when I mount it normally and close it. The answer is, "Yes" it mounts backwards. The problem newly discovered, however, is that when you mount the Smart Cover backwards like this and lay it back against the back of the iPad, it goes to sleep as if you had mounted it correctly and closed it (because the proximity of the magnet to the sensor apparently). Oh well...

Engraving on iPad 2 Smart Cover!

Does anyone know if you can engrave a logo or wrighting on the leather smart cover..?

And, at least in the poly cover, the material's too thin to do any kind of DIY incising or embossing. Although you could, if so inclined, mod it with stamping.

Opening Smart Cover and lock screen picture

I Would like to the see the beautiful lock screen picture when opening the Smart Cover (not Apple branded) and then swipe and see the input numbers option or just press Apple's Touch ID. Is it possible? Thanks ;-)

Nope. Closing the Smart Cover puts the iPad to sleep and opening it wakes the iPad again. If you have a passcode set to lock at some specific interval and that interval ends while the iPad is sleeping it will, upon opening the Smart Cover present the number pad to unlock the iPad.

Is My Smart Cover Real

i recently bought a smart cover off of amazon and i cant tell if its real or not
its is black and its supposedly leather but i cant tell
the magnetic hinge seems to be sturdy
the inside of it is like a light gray and it says Designed by Apple in California Assembled in China
please help i would just like to know

im not sure as its a gift and i havent opened the iPad as i have never felt a smart cover i cannot tell if it feels like the leather in the apple store, i wasent sure if all smart covers had that Designed by apple thing or not
i have also seen smart covers where the inside is the same colour as the outside

Smart cover unlock passcode

how do u unlock the iPad or iPad mini with the smart cover and a passcode

When you pull back the smart cover, the screen should turn on, and the enter passcode box should appear.
Enter the passcode there to unlock.
The Smart cover merely turns on and off the screen, it does nothing else.
What exactly happens when you do this?

Smart Cover Leaves Streaks

Hello all just purchased two I pad 2 with the smart covers. After using it a few days when I turn it off I see the 3 lines on the screens from the smart cover. I tried to wipe them off with no luck. I have noticed this is a problem when I search on the web. I don't wan't this to be happening. Anyone else notice this and where you able to get it off?

I have the same problem-
I just fold the smart cover into a triangle and use one of the sides to wipe the screen down. Its simple and easier then having to carry arounf extra clothes ect.

The smart cover screached the side of the iPad. I generally keep it on exept when it falls of. My iPad is still under warenty.

Scratches are not covered by warranty only manufacturing defect.

My smart cover is scratching my screen and will not put my ipad to sleep what should I do?

Ever since I got my IPad the smart cover half the time does not put the Ipad to sleep. Also, the cover is scratching my screen. This smart cover is really causing me to regret my decision to sell my IPad 1 and get the second generation IPad. Also, Safari is and some of the other apps are constantly crashing, I am getting really frustrated where should I go from here the apple store has not been much of a help?
P.S.
I hope that this is not like the first generation Apple TV I bought which has never worked correctly (waste of 220 dollars).
