My iPad 2 won't connect to the internet without wifi

Why can't I connect to the internet

Need a bit more to go on than that please.
You do have wifi right? Because the ipad doesn't support wired internet.
What are you trying to do and are you experiencing any error messages?

    Hello Rattisate,
Sorry to hear you are not able to connect to Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro.  I would be concerned about this too.  You can find information on how to troubleshoot this in the following article:

my ipad 2 won't connect to the internet

Ok. Do other things work on your home internet?
Generally, you go into settings, wifi and you should see the name of your home network. Tap on that and you should be prompted to enter the password you set up on your network (presuming it's password protected).
If it just stopped working, you can always try to power cycle the router....as in unplug the router's power. Count to ten, plug it back in and let it reboot.

  • 1st edition Ipad suddenly won't connect to the internet.

My ipad was working fine online until I turned it on the other day and found it would not connect to the internet. I instantly went into the settings, the wifi section in the system preferences is greyed out. I have reset it via iTunes and it still does nothing, its like it has no inbuilt wireless capabilty at all. Its nothing to do with my internet as all my other devices are working correctly. It just does not recognise anything. Help!

Its always worked fine, its the first time its happened, and seems to be for no clear reasons, I have reset the ipad, reset the wifi etc, connected it to iTunes. I have also tried pressing down the on button while holding sleep and it does nothing. Its got no wifi symbol either. In system pref, it says No wifi, so I can't click on that. I have then gone into genral to the VPN and it says not connected. When I press on it ask for information to add a configuration, but I have tried putting info in there, although not entily sure what to add in some of the requests it want sin order to save the pref. I just do not have a clue. Other than thinking it needs a new card installed, but can you even do that on a iPad, I did this on my Macbook.
    Thank you.

  • Ipad 2 won't connect to the internet as it use to with my sim card

My sim card was working fine in my ipad2. about a week ago or so I noticed that it was having trouble connecting to the internet. It will say "no service", the bars would be really low. I never had this happen before. I went to my provider and got a new sim card and even with the new sim card I am having the same trouble. I checked my sim card with someone elses ipad2 and it works fine. it connects right away. What can I do to resolve this?

  • What have my iPhone and iPad both suddenly quit connecting to the internet via wifi?

My phone quit connecting to the internet even when connected to an internet enabled wifi network and then a few days later my iPad has quit. I have taken both to other locations where there are wifi networks available and they will not connect to the internet, though they are connecting to the wifi.

Setting/General/Reset - Reset network settings is a good place to start.

  • My iPhone 4S connects to the internet without wifi?

Trying to share my iPhone's internet connection wit my other apple devices, but I cannot because the personal hotspot option is not there. Does it have anything to with the following: My iPhone, inside or outside the house, connects to he internet without being connected to a wifi network. Is this why? If not, how can I connect my devices?

Can both MacBook Pros see other Wi-Fis, just not yours? What is the make & model of your wireless router/gateway device? If this device supports Ethernet connections, can both MBPs gain network/Internet access this way?

  • I upgraded to Fiber Optic today and now my ipad mini won't connect to the internet although it shows a signal

As the title says, we changed to fiber optics today (yay! so speedy) and all our devices (Macbooks, iphones) connect just fine.  My ipad mini (about 1 year old) won't connect although it finds the network on the airport effertlessly and shows full signal bars as if it is connected.  For all intents and purposes it looks like it is connected, but it isn't.  I have done all the usual - turned on and off (router and device), forgotten network, renewed network lease, reset network settings, reset all settings, etc. Everthing! Still not working. Help please!!!!!!

    Hello Tom,
So this is the Airport Forum.  Hence when you were discussing your "Airport", one assumes you are referring to the Airport Extreme or Airport Express  (ie - http://www.apple.com/airport-extreme/ or http://www.apple.com/airport-express/).  It is slightly confusing when Apple refers to the Airport being the wireless in devices as well as their wireless routers.
It would help us if you told us what type of connection, for instance I live in the UK and have Fibre Optic (to cabinet) and have a cable modem from Virgin Media, which I have then connected (via ethernet) an Apple Airport Extreme (6th Gen) to distribute the internet connection and my local LAN.
Maybe you had ADSL prior and are now on Fibre via cable?

  • IPad 2 won't connect to the internet..?

I went to my friend's house and brought my iPad, and the internet was fine, then started to get slower. Then after a few hours, the internet on my iPad, just the iPad, stopped working. I went to the settings and it said that I wasn't connected to any network, so I reconnected back to the network I was using, but it kept saying that they were unable to connect. When I tried the other ones I found that don't need a password, it still said they were unable to connect. And, I can't check the

  • Playbook won't connect to the internet on wifi WPA setting with d-link router

Hi, I'm using a D-link DIR-655 router with it being set up with a WPA security system. For some reason though, when I've tried to set up my playbook, it won't connect to it. Can anyone help. Thanks.

Let me see if I can find how to reset your router. I think it's the same as mine actually. Your router is a pretty good router. I think with the settings I suggest to you you will get your PlayBook to connect reliably.
Also, when you get into your router, make sure your firmware is the most recent. Update it if you have to.

  • My iPad won't connect to the Internet while I'm in Europe, how do I connect it ?

Helpppppp !!!!??? My iPad won't connect to the Internet while I'm in Europe, how do I connect it ?

What is the difference between roaming and Wi-fi.  I'm going to EU in a week.  Your answer implies that if I use the Wi fI in the apartment I'm staying at for my Mac or my Iphone, I won't have to pay extra.  Do I have that right.  My carrier is ATT on my phone.
That's right, wifi is free around the whole world (except if you have to pay to access a protected network). It doesn't matter whether you're with ATT or Verizon. Beaware to turn off Cellular and Data Roaming as it is very costly if you don't have an int'l plan.  I think the cheapest ATT int'l plan at this moment is $25 for 50MB.
Also, you can text anywhere in the world for 50 cents with cellular and data roaming off.  At this rate, you're not going to be popping 50 text messages back and forth, but for a few, I find it to be very reasonable.  It's cheaper to text a fellow traveler than to call him/her at int'l phone rates.  The cheapest text plan is 50 messages for $10.  See ATT.com for other plans.
Another option to consider is Skype. With a wifi signal, you can call anywhere in the world for about 2 cents a minute.  When I set my Skype account up, they required a $10 prepayment.  At 2 cents a minute, that's 500 minutes.  While I think I set my Skype account up from Europe, I think it might be easier to do it here.  Skype works great on both my iPad and my IP.
