My ipad displays the old user name. the control panel shows my name but I can not login.

Why can I not log in this support area using my itune username?
I am the second user of my iPad. The settings area for the App Store has my correct information. But the App Store application shows the previous user. How can I fix this?

Unless you transfer the files from Setup Assistant, Migration Assistant creates a new user with the data.
To transfer the files to your first user, you have to log on this new user, and copy all your files to /Users/Shard folder. This is a folder where you can put the files you want to share between two or more users, and all users can read and write in it.
After copying the files, go to your first user, open /Users/Shared folder, and copy the files to your user folders. If you migrated applications, you must know that they are stored in a common folder (/Applications), so you don't have to transfer them. To open /Users/Shared folder, open Go menu (in the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type the folder

You are mixing different issues. I will address Numbers.
Has Numbers ever been installed on this new Mac? Did you have the Mac App Store version of Numbers or did you have the DVD version of Numbers?
You should be able to redownload a previous purchase of the Mac App Store version of Numbers from the Purchases pane after signing into your account.
If you had the DVD version, then you will need to install that from the DVD media.

I have tried to reset the network settings, nothing has worked. I can connect to the internet via my iPhone personal hotspot and all other wireless devices are operating normally on my home wireless network.

I am also having this issue. My boy just got an iPod 4 touch, upgraded to iOS 6. I have a D-Link DGL-4300 108G Wireless Gaming Router. With the iPod I can connect to the router, get an IP address (either DHCP or Static) and even browse through the menu on the router, but I can't connect to the internet.
With a DHCP IP address the iPod give the error "Not connected to the internet" with the static IP address it takes a long time when trying to connect to a website but then it gives the error "server stopped responding".
Clearly the issue is in some setting in the router. I've tried setting up a filter so that the iPod will always have access based on MAC address. I've tried changing the various wireless connection settings, all to no avail. I would greatly appreciate some guidence here.

I bought a brand new iPhone 4 as soon as it came out which was 2010 I think. No problems until two weeks ago. I fractured the screen on it so I am slowly losiong some functions like charge, touch screen ability and need to activate my new iPhone but I am having trouble with iTunes showing my full song library. I have 554 plus songs but some that will not update or download,. Two weeks ago is when this all began. I used to have a different apple ID but changed it after a few months for security reasons. Now when I try to observe my itunes library it only shows the most recent songs I have purchased,35. Not all, and there are still songs that it states it can not download because my computer is not authorized, I authorize it and it says it is already authorized. Then it gives me the old apple ID from years ago and I change it back to my new one, but this only causes it to do it over and over. I called apple and they said all kinds of mean things that my son or husband had been using my ID or account, of which is impossible because all purchases have to be password protected and I get warnings if anyone attempts to access. Also, their ID's are not my old one. Their libraries have none of my music. I do not home share but I thought that iTunes says you can use the music for households if you homeshare so I do not know why the person was so abusive but I am frustrated. So, any ideas? I was instructed to install icloud and did and it seems to me to be the culprit so I bought the stupid iCloud sharing manage,$25 yearly so that it automatically downloads your full library but no luck, still only shows the purchases I recently made with my gift card. I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

If you're trying to run an app that requires a newer version of iOS, you may be out of luck. A 1st-generation iPod touch can only run up through iOS 3.1.3, and the 2nd-generation model only up through iOS 4.2.1. If you have one of those models and are trying to run an app that requires iOS 4.3 or later, you will not be able to do so.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

See if the iTunes update is available with software update, get it from downloads (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576), or otherwise find the link to 10.7 in the "how do I downgrade from iTunes 11" threads. Most of them link to non-Apple sites carrying previous software versions like itunes 10.7.

Can not Login Dev or End user ID

Hi all,
I created a new WORKSPACE WS1 as the SUPER ADMIN.
I then created an admin user WS1_ADMIN for this workspace (WS1).
I also created a developer user WS1_DEV for this workspace (WS1).
I also created a end user WS1_USER for this workspace (WS1).
My problem is, I can login successfully using the userid "ws1_admin" , but I can not login to "ws1_dev" and "ws1_user" even if I tried changing password over and over again. It kept on saying "invalid credentials".
Is there anything I missed out?

I have an application named ABC id 101, I developed in apex 2.0 in 10gXE database using the schema HR. I can run it on public using the id HR. Then I migrated it to APEX 4.0.2 in another database which is 11gR1. I migrated it using export/import. I imported it to my new worspace (WS1) and user "ws1_admin".
My problem is when I run the application is still asking for the HR id.
It will not accept the ws1_admin id in which It was imported anew, I am confused now where did it imported the old id "HR". How can I change the login id to the new ones?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
3. Other issues
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.
