Once disabled, you have to restore/recover the iPad before you can use it.
You will lose your data.

Depending on how you configured the iPod, it could be quite easy. You can use a computer to make the iPod play a sound. Read the bottom of page 33 in the user manual.

If you haven't already, restart the ipad by holding home and power for ten seconds until the apple appears.
There may be an app that is draining the battery.
Try the following:
1) Kill all apps by double-tapping the home button, then holding any app's icon until it displays the ' - ' symbol. Touch the ' - ' symbol on all apps. This stops the app.
2) Go to airplane mode to turn off wifi and 3G, if so equipped.
3) recheck the battery life by using an offline-only app, like a game, for an hour or so and see if the battery seems to last longer than before.
Typical battery life is a drain of 10% per hour. Your mileage may vary.
If the battery is lasting longer, you need to isolate what is causing the drain.
4) If still rapidly draining, try going to Settings, General, Reset, reset all settings.
5) If none of this gave you any change in the battery life, you may want to do a restore of the ipad from within itunes.

I have the same problem. Yahoo Sportacular aborts every time I try to open it. It attempts to load and then the device goes right back to the home screen. The problem started April 26 after I switched leagues from NHL to NBA. Closing all apps and Restarting doesn't solve solve the problem.
All other apps on the iPad work fine. IPad2, OS6.
Any other suggestions? I suppose I could delete the app from the iPad and try re-installing it

If you just got it back and it isn't fixed or something else is wrong with it take it back and have them do the repair correctly.

You will need to restore your iPod from the same computer that you most recently synced to.

I assume that you mean that the screen doesn't rotate. Settings>General>Use Side Switch to...see how that is set. You can choose lock screen or mute sounds.
If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it,swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the control center. There will be a lock icon in the row of icons at the top. Tap that icon to unlock the screen.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the button

Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then restore via iTunes on your computer.
