My iPad says my email address is invalid when it is not

This is an ongoing problem I have with my iPad. I create a login for a site using my usual email address. When I attempt to login again to the site, the iPad insists the email address is invalid So I can't login. I moved to a different email address and the same thing happened. I tried updating the operating system but to no avail.  This is very important as I'm attempting to apply for a new job.

If this is just happening on one website, that suggests to me that the problem is with the website. Or is this something that happens anywhere that you try to use your email address?

    Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
    If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.

    Hello Experts,
    I was adding a user with an apostrophe in his email (like "John.O'Hara (at) mycompany.com") and BPC didn't like that character with "Invalid email address" message. I've removed an apostrophe, added user and then modified email address directly in the tblUsers table.
    Here is the question:
    Is it possible that apostrophe would pop-up as an error later on in other modules of the application?

    P.S. I can't modify user via Admin Console if apostrophe is in the email address... And it doesn't display user details when I click on that user name.

    SAP BPC doesn't allow you to use some chars insight of ID of users or dimensions members because it can cause some errors later on. I don't advice you to force the insert direct into table because later on you can have problems.
    I will provide just an example:
    Single quote is used to delimitate strings into SQL Server.
    So oifyou used insight of ID you can arrive in the situation where the system will perform a select like:
    select * from table where userid ='John O'Hara'
    The result willbe that actually no users meet this criteria.
    This will happen because actually the condition will be just: userid = 'John O' the rest will be truncate.
    So the BPC doesn't allow you to insert some chars into ID or other field just to avoid errors like into my example.

    Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

    It could be that another setting that you entered is incorrect. Review all settings. Sometimes it is easier to delete the account from the iPad and reenter all seetings.

    From the information that you have provided, it sounds like your Apple ID has been disabled.  You can read this to see how you can troubleshoot that issue.
    Apple ID is Disabled - Apple Club - Google Sites
    You can try signing out of your ID on the iPad and sign in with his ID and see if that works.
    Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Then sign in with your husband's newly created ID.

    I would guess this is  an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
    I would also guess you travel to other countries.
    There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
    Can you Log in here  https://settings.aim.com/ ?
    Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
    For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
    This does not work for Apple IDs used as  AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
    AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
    However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
    More recently this has been a sticking point.  It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM  servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

    I have no problem with free apps or updates; but when I try to buy an app (directly on my iPhone), I get a message saying the email address associated with my account is invalid. It clearly isn't, I get the receipts showing every download (all those free apps and updates, any tracks I download). It's a .mac address for crying out loud! I would like to use the store from my phone, if it would let me.

    I too have this problem, starting with 2.0.2. My email is gmail and has not changed. I can download free apps and updates, but no purchases. I cleared this once by visiting my apple account (not changing anything) or maybe buying from iTunes, but it is a pain as I'm often away from my desk. At least make the error message more accurate - there's nothing wrong with my email settings.

    You can edit keyboard shortcuts in Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Edit.

I'm trying to not personalize this too much, but it's grandkids talking to Grandma and Mom and Dad trying to solve new machine hiccups. Normally, I could just go in via iChat and control the other machine and troubleshoot, but I can't do it with Facetime only. My buddy list doesn't see  the other computer even though we are connected on Facetime right now. My name is not highlighted for the other computer. What could have gone so wrong?
