My ipad screen is full of horizontal lines

My ipad screen is full of horizontal lines & it wont switch off. Even after force close, when i restart, the lines are still there ?
What do I do ?
Regards
Sumit

First try a simple reset if you already havent. Hold down the home and power buttons for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple then let you device start normally. If the lines are still there the next step would to be backup your device and restore from iTunes as a new device. If the lines are still there after you restore your device would need service or replacement.

I have an iphone 4 and i'm having lot of problems:
_ my back camera is blurred although my front camera is fine and working normally
_ my biggest problem is that the screen is showing colored horizontal lines(as perhaps electrical problems). The phone did fell and I already changed its back and front but everything was normal until these problems appeared suddenly
Please can somebody help me to solve it and tell me what are the reasons?
    Thx

you can try turning it off and on again, but i doubt that's gonna work, that sounds like more of a hardware issue. Your best bet may be to contact apple and seek service or replacement

  • My iPad screen has developed a vertical line down the middle

My iPad screen has developed a vertical line down the middle for some reason. I have tried turning it off and resetting it, but the line still appears. Does anyone know what causes this or how it could be rectified?

    Hi JoMayo,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're noticing lines or distortion on your iPad screen, I would suggest completing step 4 (update iPad) and 5 (restore iPad) in our iPad assistant:

  • Mirror iPad Screen at full-resolution on HDTV?

Best I can tell from what I've read, there's no accessory I can use to hook my iPad to an HDTV via HDMI, DVI, or RGB analog, and still mirror the iPad's screen at full iPad resolution.
    Is that true?

Thanks for confirming the impression I got from reading this forum, and various other sources.
What I'm mostly looking for some sort of way to have my iBooks (or Kindle books) show up on my big-screen HDTV. That, so that I can read while I exercise on my elliptical machine. I created a ... book rack ... for my iPad and attached it to the exercise machine, but, not surprisingly, it ends up jostling around to the point of being unreadable.
Probably the best bet would be to find some what to attach it to the wall instead of the exercise machine.
I read ... somewhere ... about a rumor that Apple might add iBooks, and possibly Apps capability in general, to AppleTV. As best I understand it, that plan apparently has either been scuttled, or it was just an unfounded rumor in the first place.

  • My screen get white with horizontal lines

    Hello,
I have an Ibook G3; I bought it in october 2002 in France. A fiew days ago, I took it with me to school, and there all of a sudden the whole screen was white, with many horizontal lines. The system was not responding anymore. But after that, it worked fine again. It happens now more often. I don't know if it's worth to repair, since I don't have any warranty anymore. What could the problem be?
    Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
It sounds like you may be having logic board problems. Enough dual USB G3 iBooks suffered from this problem that Apple began the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program in January of 2004. Check out the FAQ page and if the symptoms look familiar, give Apple a call. If your iBook qualifies, it's a free fix.
If you are past the three-year time limit, ask to speak to Customer Relations and ask them to please make an exception to the three-year limit in your case.
    Good luck!

  • Screen going crazy, pink horizontal lines, frequent random crashes?

    Hi all,
First post here... I felt compelled to post as usually Googling a problem will bring me to a solution from one of these discussions but in this case there are many similar instances of my problem but no-one seems to be able to offer an explanantion that fits my particular circumstances.
    I have a late 2011 MBP 15"
    Processor = 2.2 GHz i7
    Memory = 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics = Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    OS = OS X 10.9.2
Recently, my screen started randomly going crazy, all blocky and with horizontal pink lines all over. Then it would go either fully black or fully white. This usually happens when I open another tab or app. Sometimes it crashes and powers off. Sometimes it restarts.
If it powers off and I restart it or it restarts itself, the horizontal pink lines appear on the startup/spinning gear screen.
Then the screen goes fully white and the fans go crazy. Now it sometimes just stays hung like this and sometimes it powers off after about 3 minutes of crazy fans.
I switch it back on and it does the same thing.
It gets stuck in this loop for ages and often, if I just leave it and come back to it some other time, it powers up just fine however sometimes it will continue to refuse to power up.
If I try to boot into recovery mode, it blue screens.
If I try to boot into safe mode, it blue screens.
If I try diagnositics, it blue screens.
What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

I've had a similar issue with my mid-2012 13" non-retina MacBook Pro twice. First time I dropped it and it fell hard ( I mean it fell down a flight of stairs). It sounds like your graphics card and/or logic board and possibly the RAM sticks might have an issue. For me, a new logic board costs about $480 but Apple covered it twice since its less than a year old. Other issues I've had it would have a "checker-board" on startup and it would have a similar glitch when I would move it or set it down. It would also freeze and even shut down. I've also pulled it out of my bag, and it would be a lot hotter than when I put it in. I'd say set up a Genius Bar appointment or take it to a local certified apple service technician or if you really wanted to, setup an appointment and find out what's wrong and then repair it yourself, just make sure your data is backed up. I would suggest back it up to both iCloud and an external hard drive that can hold more data than the internal drive on your mac.

  • My IPAD screen shows a bunch of lines then goes black

When I turned on my IPAD2 the screen showed a series of different color lines, then went black
It worked fine last night any ideas on problems.
I have a lock code on it, so I can't even get in to unlock it.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • Screen Not Working Correctly- Horizontal Lines

For the past few weeks, when I open my computer, sometimes the bottom half of my screen is just a lot of lines or is not working correctly. Sometimes if I tilt the screen enough, it will go away. But I don't know what to do!

First step in user troubleshooting is to turn the phone off and back on. If that doesn't help, then a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will restart. If this does not solve it, then a restore from backup, and finally if necessary, a restore as a new device.
You do not indicate what iPhone version you have. You also do not say if the phone has been dropped or any user damage to the screen. If anything, you can make an appointment with the Apple Store Genius bar to get the hardware checked.

  • My lcd screen have a thin horizontal line

i bought my MCP two weeks ago, and today i was using i movie, and i was doing this render and from one moment to another this thin line appears in my lcd screen, its like gray, im not sure whats wrong? i alfready restart the computer ans it still in there, and its goes through all left to right in my computer the size its like a pixel i think so, can somebody help me?

sounds like a row of dead pixels, you might be able to massage the edge of the screen around the line and get it to start working
also you should be able to call apple and get the screen replaced

  • 3 years old A100-001: horizontal lines when playing games

    Dear Everyone!
I have a Satellite A100-001 notebook, almost 3 years old, with 3 GB memory ram, nVidia GO 7600 256 MbRam VGA with rather fresh (6 months old) Windows 7 Professional 32 bit OS.
I use my notebook every day, mostly for work or gameplaying. I never had a problem (and this is why I love Toshiba) until yesterday: when I play, after a few minutes (5-10-15 at most), the screen turns stripped with horizontal lines, and freezes down. Like I said, I never had a problem before.
I don't really know what happened. Could anyone tell me a solution?
I've been thinking of the loss of temp control. I don't really think that the VGA card died (or at least, I hope).
    Thanks for you support!

    Hi
Hmm the lines on the notebook screen could be related to the graphic chip issue but you should connect an external monitor to be 100% sure that this is a vga related issue and not notebooks monitor problem
But in my opinion its vga issue possibly the graphic chip starts to malfunction due to a higher temperature while gaming what do you think about this theory?
I think you use this notebook long time and maybe the cooling fans dont work properly due to the dust. How about cleaning the cooling module?
Try an compressed air spray. Such tool helps to get rid of dust and debris
    Good luck

  • Horizontal lines on iphone5

    Hi!
I'm extremely exciting to receive my first iphone - iphone5. But it turned out there some issues on the display.
Right at the center of the screen, occasionally there are few horizontal lines flashing, and the funny thing is, screen under the flashing horizontal lines becomes blurred and almost unreadable. But as I said, it happens occasionally, it just becomes normal minutes ago, while the last few hours, those lines are just exicitingly flashing like I was hours ago.
I read through the forum, it seems this issue happened in the past generations, anybody sees the same?
    Have a nice weekend

I have this, not everytime - maybe half.

I have called Apple to create an escalation.  I have a hunch this is an issue with the App store rather than the phones.  I am waiting to see before I go through all the hassle of replacing it, the phone is performing excellently otherwise.  I have a mixture of numbers and letters in my password, seems to be triggered by flicking to numeric keyboard and then dissappears when flicking back to text keyboard.
