My ipad was stolen in the airport in Madrid Spain.  Is there anyway to turn it off or at least turn off my email?

My ipad was stolen in the Madrid Spain airport.  Is there anyway to have it turned off or at least turn off my e-mail remotly?

If it was a 3G iPad you can have the service disconnected from it by your carrier.
If it was just wifi, there is nothing that you can really do about it.
If you had a passcode lock on it then that would have been helpful if it was set to "10 bad tries and then wipe device".
Sorry to hear that it was stolen.

You are not addressing Apple. They would not be able to help you. This is a user to user forum. If the device had not been activated, there is no way to track it. Report the theft to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

  • Since upgrading to ios 8 from ios 7 on my ipad i keep getting the annoying certificatepop ups. Is there anyway to eliminate them? Its more of an inconvinience to keep having to close them.

Check to make sure that the year, date, and time are set correctly on your iPad.

  • My ipad was stolen without the find your ipad app. is there no way to shut it down or trace ip address?

    sol i guess..........

Hopefull you have the Serial Number. Give the S/N to the police. It will help if someone tries to pawn.
Without Find My iPad or password required, someone can easily erase all your files/pps & your unique info.

  • My iPad was stolen yesterday. I cannot track it while using find my iPhone is saying is off.

My iPad was stolen at the house yesterday. I have reported the matter to law enforcement. I have tried to track it using find my iPhone from my iPhone and it shows that the iPad is off. My work and important documents are there. Anyone who can assist on how I can trace it?

You cannot trace it if it is offline.
Hopefully you have a passcode on your iPad and you have backups of these documents.

  • My friend just had his iPad stolen at the airport.  Any advice on finding it?  Thanks!

My friend just had his iPad stolen at the airport.  Is there anything he can do to locate it?  Thanks in advance.

Unless he'd set up MobileMe / Find My iPad on it before it was lost/stolen, then no, there isn't any way to locate it. If he did set up MobileMe on it then he could try locating it either via me.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on a another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or MobileMe disabled on it.
If it was stolen then he should report it to the police. As a safety precaution he should also change his iTunes account password, his email account passwords, and any passwords that he'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

  • My ipad was stolen however i have the serial number...is there any way i can see if someone is using it?

My ipad was stolen but I have the serial number.
How can I track it and how can I register my new one?

If they haven't already wiped it and started over, and you activated Find my iPhone on your iPad, you might be able to track it.  If you did not activate Find my iPhone, you will not be able to track it.  Apple will not help you.  But, you should immediately go and change your Apple ID password, and any other passwords you use for accounts like Twitter, Facebood, Mail, Apps you make purchases with, like the Starbucks Mobile App, etc.

  • My ipad was stolen this morning. what steps should i take? I am filing a police report; does Verizon have the serial number of the ipad that I purchased through them? I have total moble protection; how do I file a claim?

My ipad was stolen this morning; can Verizon track the location of the device an assist the police department in recovering the device? I am filing a police report does Verizon have the serial number of the device for me to include in the police report? I have Total Mobile Protection and need instructions for filing a claim.  Is here any other steps I should take?

If the iPad was running iOS 7, the thief/finder will not ever be able to use it.

  • My iPad was stolen - need help with getting my stuff from the icloud

My iPad was stolen two days ago. I did the remote "lock this device" within ten minutes of it being stolen, but I cannot see any of my pics, etc in my iCloud.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated

Photos are not on icloud.com.  You could set up iCloud on your computer and enable photo stream to get back photo stream photos from the last 30 days (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/).  To access your camera roll photos and other data and settings, you will need to restore your backup to another iPad.  If your backup is in iCloud, be sure to do this before it is 180 days old or Apple will delete it.
It sounds like you already put it in lost mode, but you may want to read through this anyway: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5668.

If you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen, and if it is still turned on and connected to the internet with Find My iPad enabled, you can do this by going to icloud.com as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165.

  • HT4890 My ipad was stolen. How can I activate the location device using my computer ?

    My ipad was stolen today.
How can I switch on the location device from a remote location such as my computer, to help me locate where it is ?
Im also trying to view my 'Notes' which I made on the ipad, but I cant get to them online.
Ive locked it from my computer - what does this mean ?
Can the person that stole it still turn it on with no apps or programs working ?
What if he guesses the 4 digit passcode which I created, can I change it ?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • If my ipad was stolen, how to register my ipad for the stolen goods, and lock the hardware requirements?

If my ipad was stolen, how to register my ipad for the stolen goods, and lock the hardware requirements?

It's really disappointing as a newly converted Apple customer who has already had his iPad stolen, that Apple just sits back and let's this happen.
I've viewed a number of posts regarding stolen iPads.  Yes, I did have the "find my iPad" enabled.  That's how I knew when the iPad was gone for good.  It's a useless function in the case of theft because the thieves know how to hack into your iPad.  It disappeared from my list of devices in the "find my iPad" utility that very same day.
Apple loves the fact that their devices get stolen all the time!  That way they sell more of them.  Theft could easily be significantly reduced if Apple chose to give users a means to report stolen devices on the Apple site.  They choose not to do this.  If the black market for Apple devices was limited to hackers who know they have a stolen device, the items wouldn't be such a hot commodity!  Apple knows this... I guess they want to get their devices into as many households as they can.... Legally or not.
So for all you hard working folks out there, find a way to make sure your Apple products are secure because if they get stolen, you're out of luck.  Apple refuses to help when they could easily do so.
