My iphone 3gs has recently broken and have put it in for repair but i may loose all data. which would be fine as i had backed it up on my itunes. However my computer has now broke. is there anyway of getting my restore back on another computer at all?
my iphone 3gs has broken [was in a sort of reboot loop] so that is being fixed and i get it back on Thursday. I may loose all data from it being fixed and that would of been fine as i have a recent back up on my i-tunes. However yesterday my laptop decided to turn itself off and not work anymore so thats going to be going to get fixed soon as well but is there anyway of getting my back up i had on my itunes on a different computer?

Did anything happen to prior to your phone acting this way? It sounds like your screen is dead, but it is hard to say without knowing what what the cause.
1) was this a gradual problem? Did the phone screen start dimming a couple months ago and now has degraded or after some event (known or unknown to you), the phone started behaving this way.
2) Can you give more specifics on the problem? You said you have a black screen, but also you can see what you're doing on screen. Is the screen just really dim? Is the screen completely black? Does anything else besides attempting to reset the device cause it to flash white? -
I have had adobe creative suit 6 design standard for 2 years and all of the sudden it would not open. I do not have the windows disc anymore however i still have the product code, number and serial number. is there anyway to get my photoshop back?

So my daughter plugged her ipad into home pc to download music from itunes and it wiped everthing out of her ipad and copied my ipad info from the last time I had mine plugged in. Is there anyway to get her info back like all her pictures?
Had she backed up her iPad to a different computer or iCloud?
If not, it's gone.

Wow! You learned what could have been a *VERY* expensive lesson at a relatively low price.
Another poster had set an American Express account (unlimited credit, in many cases) as payment method for iTunes, and had given his iPhone to his grandson. The grandson bought a $300 zoo-something game. The other poster may or may not have learned from that episode.
The lesson is that children do NOT feel financial responsibility when happily clicking to get pretty pictures and fun games and "cool" songs. That grandfather could have been $80,000 in the hole potentially if the grandson went hog-wild.
The solution is two-fold, in my humble opinion:
Buy a prepaid mastercard with a $100 limit. Make that the payment method. That limits loss to $100.
Supervise your cildren when they use accounts you will have to pay for. -

I backedup my iphone 4 to the cloud before upgrading to an iphone 5. I also backedup my iphone 5 to icloud. I can see both phone's backups side by side on the my screen on icloud. But it will not allow me to restore the iphone 4 backup to my iphone 5. I need contacts from the iphone 4 backup but I do not have that phone anymore and icloud will only let me restore the iphone 5's backups to my iphone 5. Is there anyway to get the contacts from my previous iphone 4 backup?
You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases -
I was updating to the current iso6 and forgot to click new phone in I-tunes when updating instead i clicked restore and now I have old info on my phone and all my current info is gone is there any way to get that info back.
Setting up as "new" will set the device as if it were just taken out of the box. This certainly would not restore any content that was on the device.
Sounds like what you want is to simply restore to a more recent backup. You did backup the device prior to updating correct? If you did not, it's unlikely that you can get the content back. -
Broken Touch,Lost Music,No Receipt - is there anyway to get my music back?

I recently got a replacement iPod Touch because the hard disk on the old one was fried. The strange thing was, when I set up my new iPod, loads of my music went missing from iTunes. My computer doesn't have the room for iTunes because it's got so little memory, so everything is backed up onto an external hard drive. For some reason, it lost some music, but it was quite random; e.g. only certain albums of certain artists. Also, it was a mixture of iTunes bought music and stuff from discs. I have no idea where it went or why random files have gone missing. Is there any reason for this, or any chance to get it back?
The problem is doubly annoying because my replacement Touch broke down tonight, and it looks to be the same problem as another one. Even though I updated my iPod this morning, some of the music I purchased the other day hasn't moved over onto the hard drive, even though I'm sure I clicked an option that said I wanted all Touch bought files to be automatically copied over. To make things worse, iTunes only sent me a partial receipt, so I have no proof that I bought some of these songs. I've lost a fair bit of paid music. To start we have several users and devices on our itunes account....Several weeks ago I was using my itouch to create playlists for a few aerobics classes that I teach. Right before I was about to unplug the itouch I got a notification that my itouch was full and didnt have any space left. Since I was done with what I was doing at the time, I unplug my itouch and figured I would delete unwanted songs later to create more room. A week later, I went to sync my itouch into itunes and over the devices it told me that it was named another device and wanted to know if i wanted to sync the information to my itouch I had just plug in. I had never seen this message before in all the other times I had used it, and at the time I didnt realize that it was giving my device the name of another user in my house. Without realizing it itunes started to sync the new information to my itouch. I immediately unplugged the usb cable stopping the process. I then replugged the usb cable in, hoping to get done what I needed to get done on my itouch thinking it might have just been a strange glitch. Also, since I hadn't notice any change on my itouch from the incorrect syncing, I continued to start itunes again. This time it asked me the same question as before "did I want to sync the information from another ipod?". Since I didnt notice any changes before I just let it do the syncing not realizing at the time that it was earsing all the info I had on my itouch and replacing it with info coming from the other users ipod.
I contacted Apple and they gave me infomation on how I could go look for my itouch under devices and get the information back. When I did this my itouch was no longer there under the devices and it was replaced with the new name that itunes had given my itouch. This device is one of the first generation itouches and has never been backed up that I know of... So my question to you all is...Is there any way of getting my playlists back???? I spend countless hours creating these playlists for my classes and have been completely out of my mind trying to figure out how I can possibly get the infomation back. Please let me know if you think there might be a way to do this!!!The devices that are listed are: 2 under the name of the device that synced incorrectly with mine and then 3 others that are not associated with my itouch. The name of the ipod, before the incorrect sycning is no longer under devices. It has been replaced with the incorrect one because I can see the serial # of my ipod under the wrong name.
The playlists that are in my itunes library are from an ipod that I used a few times before I took this one over... Which happens to be the ipod that took on the ID of my itouch.
Both of these ipods used to be my kids.. I used my sons a few times and then switched to my daughters. They each had their names attachted to their particular devices and now it just says my sons, which is the ipod that itunes was connecting to when all this happened. The really strange thing is my son doesnt use his ipod any longer and now uses his phone for music...So, it had been a while since that particular device was even synced to itunes!

Backup corrupted/incompatible. Is there anyway to get contacts/notes back??
I had 2.0.1 backup, but restored my iPhone today without upgrading to 2.0.2 and backup base on that firmware. I believe that's the reason why I could not restore my 2.0.1 backup because iTune shows 2.0.2 firmware while backup file is dated 2.0.1. Anyway, everytime I tried to backup it gives me the "file is either corrutped or not compatible with current version". So is there anyway I can get my old contacts and notes back? I heard it's not possible to downgrade to 2.0.1 from 2.0.2.
Assuming you synced before you restored, your Contacts will be synced again after you restore, from the original source (Outlook, Address Book, Yahoo, etc.).
The notes are not backed up in any other way, and those are gone, I'm afraid... -

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
