My iPhone 3GS is displaying 'No Service'

My phone is fully update and on the 3 network. My phone has been displaying no service for the past 24 hours, occasionally searching. I have tried resetting the network settings with no avail.
If I manually search for networks I can find the 3 network and can select it but it still displays 'no service'. I have tested it by making calls to check its not connected but not displaying correctly.

So if you are experiencing a no service. there are a few things you can try.
Power cycle- power off and back on - test.
Hard reset -hold home and power button until apple logo appears- release - wait until phone restarts -check
Reseat the sim card - test.
Reset network settings- Settings>general>reset >reset network settings - wait for reboot -test.
Reset all settings>settings>General>reset>reset all settings.

My iPhone 3GS is showing no service, I have reset the network settings but that didn't seem to work. I then restored the phone iteself but it still shows no service.
The phone is on O2 and I have tried a few other sims, but it still doesnt seem to work. The iOS is 6.1.3, I have been told this may be the problem but it was working a couple of days ago.
I was also told to try these steps which didn't seem to work:
1. Disable 3G in Settings/General/Network
2. Power off the iPhone by holding the top lock button down then sliding to power off, leave the phone off for 30 seconds
3. Power on the iPhone
4. Reset network settings in Settings/General/Reset
5. Turn on 3G
6. You should be able to find the network now
I don't know what elese I can do, I would really appreciate anyones help, thanks.

Basic troubleshooting steps
Reset the iPhone by Holding both Power and Home Buttons together till Apple logo appears.
Restore to a backup.
Backup, Restore in iTunes setup as new.

Sounds like it's been blacklisted.
Even if it hasn't, downgrading voids any warranty and forfeits all rights to support. You hacked your phone. You can't get help here.

IPhone 3GS 5.0.1 Service Problem

I have an iPhone 3GS its on 5.0.1
It keeps loosing signal anywhere I'm at, it goes from full bar AT&T to searching... and keeps repeating over and over again.
I've taken it to the apple store like 9 time I've gotten my iPhone replaced 6 time and it keeps doing it they told me to change the sim card so i did that too 4 times, then AT&T says its a device issue and they keeps going back and forth i really dont know what to do anymore! Please help!
It works for a couple of hours after I restore it but i have to be doing that contantly.

My iphone 3gs won't keep service!

My iphone 3gs randomly goes from full service to searching... to no service. I was gone to basic training for the Army, then more training. When I returned in mid July I plugged my phone into the computer to sync and update since I had been gone for 7 months. As soon as it was completed and I started using it I started having this issue. I have been to the AT&T store many times and the nearest Apple store is an hour away. They have replaced the sim card twice and have recommended that I restore it to the factory settings and try that for a while. I have done that, with no apps or anything extra on the phone and it still won't work right. I can't upgrade until November 11 and cannot afford to buy a phone otherwise. Is there a way to revert back to the previous software update?

There is no officially supported way to downgrade the iOS.
If the device is not working properly after a restore as new then a hardware issue exists. This assumes there is not a SIM card or network issue.
An out of warranty replacement is $149 at the Apple store. But if it were me, as annoying as the connectivity issue is, if I could live with it... I would simply tough it out until November. Maybe get a cheap dumb phone on ebay or craigslist that you could pop your SIM into should you need to make a call in an emergency. You could easily get one for less than $20. It certainly is not an ideal solution, but it is a workable and very inexpensive work around.

You mention "restoring cellular network". Not sure what you mean there. If you have restored the device as a new device and it still doesn't work, you seem to have done everything else, including a new SIM. Only thing left is to have the device examined by Apple. An OOW replacement by Apple would be $149USD.

I'm starting to serihously think this phone has been jailbroken... I've got a senior technical support advisor at Apple who is working on the case. He has gone through everything he can possibly think of, but won't take "no" for an answer.
At the moment, he has logged everything with the Engineering Department, who is going to look into it further using the IMEI number and see what they come up with. If worse comes to worse, Apple will apparently replace the phone for a fee. The problem is that it is 800+ days out of warranty...
Anyway, we'll see how we go. If anybody has got any ideas about this, please continue to provide answers. I appreciate all responses

IPhone 3GS "NO SERVICE" but finds carrier in network selection

I'll try and keep it brief. So my iPhone 3GS constantly says "No Service" and I don't know why. I boot it up, and it says "Searching..." for about 2 minutes, then "No Service"
For almost a month now, it would randomly go out for an hour or so. The morning of October 8th it went out for two days straight. When I woke up in the morning (Oct 10) it was connected to Bell with full bars + 3G. It was only on for about 5 hours or so, then back to no service. It's now the 13th and I'm still left with no service. I've done a full restore, I got a new SIM, I've tried putting it on airplane mode for 2 minutes and going outside, I've shut it off and turned it on somewhere else, I updated to iOS 5. I've done everything I can find online. No luck. It finds Bell, both "Bell 3G" and "Bell" Settings>General>Carrier but when I try to connect to it, it tells me "Network Lost, your selected cellular network is no longer available. You can choose a different network in Settings" for both Bell 3G and just Bell.
Apple wants me to pay 229 to send me a new one, but I can't afford it, and Bell won't give me a loaner, so I'm left without a phone. Help, please!

honestly i don't think its a apple iphone direct issue. here's what i know...i have had a no service on my 3gs randomly coming up on my phone for nearly a year now. i have done everything you've stated and still the same. i recently just went to australia and used a telstra sim card and it worked flawlessly for 2 months. i believe that bell and telus have changed their signal or something that is causing this but they will deny it to the bitter end. so...why not just buy another iphone? Exactly! thats what they want you to do! It's just a ploy to get you to buy another phone. if you can get another carrier besides these 2 crooks i think you will find it works. try buying a cheap prepaid sim card to see which carrier works best in your area before selecting a plan.
