Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

It sounds like there’s an issue with Settings, the Notes app entry isn’t showing up as expected. Take a look at the article linked below and try restarting your iPhone 3GS.

If that doesn’t do it, try restoring your iPhone as shown in this article:

yesterday i tryed to sownload the new software OS5 for my iPhone and after waiting the proccess to end, suddenly a message appeares saying the iphone wont restore!
after that the iphone stop working at all and not showing the home screen to me !
just it works by showiin the apple logo then a loading process that works for ever till the barrerry ends.
so please help meand can i fix it here or i have to go to a maintinace shop
thank youConnect the charger and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before you try to turn it on. Then let it charge untill full. The iPhone (or iPad) need at least a little charge before you can turn it on.

the screen on my iPhone is frozen and I can access apps through Siri. The touch screen works within the apps but not in the home screen. What do I do?
Have you tried a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?

Folks
When I sync my iPhone to iTunes over WiFi the app icons do not all appear. Some are lost or some are just displaying a 'A".
Any advice here on why this might be and what I can do to fix it?

Why is my ipod touch 3g turning on but not displaying the home screen?
my ipod has worked without an issue for 3 years, however yesterday it froze in an app and then displayed the apple icon and then the display turned off. Since then my ipod has been repeatedly attempting to boot up unsucessfully; displaying the apple logo but never going to the home screen. the only way to stop this is to reset it and leave the ipod switched off. Help would be much appreciated
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

How can I set my Iphone 4s to delete hotmail from phone but NOT server at home?
I can't seem to figure out how to set phone so that I can delete messages (hotmail) from phone but have them remain on server (home computer)? I've had to recently delete and then re set my hotmail account and when I did this, I seem to have lost the ability to delete from phone and save on home computer. thanks
You're using an IMAP account. Not sure if you can set up hotmail as a POP account.

I just downloaded Yahoo messenger app, then uninstalled it. I cannot get to my home screen now. I can move around in settings but cannot get to home screen. Cannot turn off, nor can I receive any calls.
press and hold the home button and the lock button together for atleast 10 secs or till the time u see the apple logo,once you see the apple logo,let go off the keys... good luck

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can get it to reboot.

Try force iPad into Recovery Mode. Follow step 1 to 6 very closely.

Because File Transfer, buy Bluetooth, has never been supported on any iPhone. Your computer and iPhone will only pair, by Bluetooth, if you're trying to Tether. If you're not trying to Tether, you can quit tring, as your phone won't pair.

My iPhone 4S will charge on a laptop but not from a wall plug. I have tried different boxes and different USB cords from the wall but none work. These boxes and USB cords work for other family members with iPhones and a USB cord that works from the laptop won't work from 3 or 4 different wall boxes that work for others. I'm stumped :/
Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off. It will not charge while the phone is on. Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything. I read somewhere that it could be a fuse somewhere?? Or maybe the dock connector. Where is the best place to get this repaired?
