My iPhone 5c was stolen. I am using Find my iPhone to track it but it has said offline for 2 days now. Can I expect it to eventually show up on find my iPhone when the phone is turned back on, or are there ways for thieves to get around this?

I had my iPhone 5c stolen this Tuesday afternoon while I was at the beach. Immediately after I noticed it missing I called the phone and it was off. I called the phone continuously later that night but it remained off. I did not use the Find my iPhone app until the following morning, however.
The phone has said offline for 2 days now. I'm wondering...is it reasonable to assume that eventually the phone will get turned back on and I will get a location? Or do thieves have ways around this? I do have a passcode on my phone. Once the phone is turned on to the locked screen, is it connected to the internet?
I filed a police report but the police seem to be pretty disinterested in helping me recover my phone. I literally got this thing on Monday and had it stolen Tuesday the next day. I was so excited about my new phone so I realize now I was texting like a little girl out there and probably was an easy target. Never bringing anything of value to the beach again, thats for sure.

i m also put passcode in my iphone...but i dont know that how i know that my passcode is crack by someone???and same as police is not interested to find out it..

Just a thought, but if the battery is not allowed to completely die then the amount of time it takes for the device to power back up is irrelevant.
Charge the device regularly and often. One of the worst things for a Lithium Ion battery like that in an iPhone is completely discharging it.

I thought it was because of Lion but with snow leopard i have the same problem (On another Mac).

To check the local network for some of the common configuration problems, launch Terminal.app and issue the following diagnostic command:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
That'll report some local configuration information and then either no errors detected and no changes required, or it'll point to whatever configuration errors or issues it might detect. That doesn't catch everything, but it catches the common errors.
FWIW, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are poor choices for the local network, as VPNs are based on IP routing and IP routing gets tangled when the same subnet is used on both ends of the VPN. 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are near ubiquitous in home networks and coffee shops.

I can not get the phone to turn back on. My email had been blinking off so I tried turning it off. After holding down top button and bottom button it the apple sign came up then went out as it has before when I have approached it this way. But now no go.

My phone is dead it will not turn back on after taking a step I have used in the past when I have had issues with the phone. In the past I haeld the top button and the button on the face down and it will turn black then the apple sign comes up then off. I can then turn it back on and it seems to be reset and all is good not so today. It will not turn back on.

1. Plug phone into AC adaptor and charge for at least 30 minutes
2. If not on, reset phone: press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
If no reponse to above, there is hardware damage and you need to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

ok thanks- that is what i thought - i used to have a different cell that the alarm would work even if you had the phone turned off. so this is a good to know, so that i don't have the phone turned off if i need to wake up in the morning using the alarm.

If nothing helps, you need to contact Verizon for information for an exchange or refund. This is a user to user forum, not Apple.
Apple's policy for a refund or exchange is within 14 days of purchase. Verizon's policy may be different.
Definitely try restoring .. hopefully you won't have to go through the hassle of an exchange.

How do I turn off the Icloud erase when the phone is turned on?

My husband is a ship captain and He thought he lost his phone, I went through all the procedures of changing his account numbers etc on email
only thing he has on his phone is facebook and email . He didn't have the find my phone app on when he lost it so I deactived it on our cell provider
and from I cloud I set up the find my phone to erase it when its turned on.
Well yes he found it, so I have set back up with the cell service but how do I turn off the find my phone from erasing it when he turns it back on?
And what is it going to erase??
Will he still be able to use it as a phone at least?

Too bad. It completely erases the phone so it will be like it was when it came out of the box. He will need to go through the initial setup screens on the phone again to reactivate it before he can use it, and it will require entering his iCloud password to do so.

Bluetooth comes on but immediately connects to a powered-down device -- doesn't connect when the device is turned back on.

On my Macbook Pro, whenever I turn Bluetooth on, it immediately connects to a powered-down device. If I click "Disconnect", nothing happens.
When I turn the device back on, I am unable to re-pair with the actual device.

I am a Movistar - Colombia ZTE firefox open user, I have a battery problem after November 8, in the night the battery was exhausted totally, I think the phone have a virus or some trick of the operator, they try to manipulate the customers in many ways.
I charged my phone many times in the week end and the phone is getting a low battery message too quickly, I suspect the phone is making some task on background that I not request, because all the functions of the phone works fine, even I tried to uninstall the last installed apps without success, and the phone never get any hit or was dropped.
The provider, Movistar, is very tricky I don't have too much confidence of them, I installed the last update from them yesterday but not fix the problem. some days ago I installed other updates I think from movistar probably the problem starts since I made it.

it is very unlikely that there is a virus running on the ZTE Open. Firefox OS doesn't let for any native application to run on the phone, unless it is a certified application.
As to why the battery consumption is bad, it will really help if you can give us some information about the version of the Firefox OS the phone is running on. You can find this by going to Settings -> Device Information and provide us the details.
Also, it is likely that there could be a battery issue with your phone and it might also help if you can check with the vendor to see if there is an issue with the battery.

Verizon lied to me about my bill. I will not pay ONE PENNY more as long as the phone is turned off. You are holding my health hostage. I will find a new company.

I was told if I paid the past due the phone would be left on and I could pay the rest after the first of the month. Now I am told unless I give Verizon a postdated check my phone will be off even though I made an online payment for the past due amount. I cannot make a payment until after the first of the month. I am diabetic and live in the boonies. I NEED MY PHONE. If you won't turn it back on I am left with no choice but to find another carrier. Verizon will be paid at the rate of $5 per month until paid off since I will be making payments on my new phone and can't afford both. This all started when I tried to make an online payment and it didn't go through and I didn't realize it. I didn't know the payment hadn't gone through until a month later. Verizon is too expensive and I am tired of dealing with you.

Take it to whoever replaced the screen and see if they can help you.
iPhones are not user servicable and Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. I'd be surprised if you were actually able to back it up at this point. It sounds like it's completely borked.
