My iPhone froze during an update.
I was updating my iPhone 4 on iTunes, and it said it was restarting my iPhone. About 10 minutes ago, the apple logo that comes up when you are turning on came on, and it hasn't stopped. iTunes won't recognize my phone now so I can't restore it. I am freaking out and I need to fix this. WHAT DO I DO? ):

If you are using a Windows based computer, could be your anti virus software or firewall preventing your iPhone from syncing.

Iphone froze during iOS update
My iPhone 4s froze up the other day. I was installing the newest iOS update. It starts with the apple logo and then a progress bar starts to build underneath it not long after that starts it switches to a loading wheel that freezes up until it starts the process all over again. I tried both holding the power button and the soft reset which both just start this same process over again. I tried connecting to my MacBook but it says I need to verify on the phone that I want to connect to iTunes, which I can't do because I get nothing on the screen besides what I already described. Any suggestions? Thank You.
Hey jonesjm25,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like something may have been interrupted during the update process. To resolve your issue, let’s try restoring your iPhone in recovery mode:

I tried to update my iPod Touch 4th Generation with the new ios6 release but it froze during the update. Now all I get when I try to turn the iPod on is a blank screen. Can anyone advise me?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Error 1603
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. Also, discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user. If the issue remains, Eliminate third-party security software conflicts. -

My iPhone froze while downloading a new update. The screen now shows a picture of iTunes icon and USB cable. How do I unlock the phone if I never registered the device on a computer?
Have you tried to restore the iPad back to factory settings from within the Setting App? You might also try and hard "reset" by holding the power button and the home button at the same time until the iPad 2 restarts.
Besides that, find a friend with a computer and try to update it from their comptuer, or if it is close and convenient go to the Apple Store and they will be able to help you. -
Iphone crash during software update.....now won't connect
Hey everyone,
I was trying to update the software on my 3gs, but during the update itunes stopped recognizing my iphone and now the phone is giving me the connect to itunes screen because it needs to be restored. Now, the problem is that when I try to connect the phone to my pc it tells me that it's in recovery mode and it needs to be restored, however, when I click retore it gets stuck on the "preparing iphone for restore sceen" and sometimes it stops and gives me the 0xE0000065 error message. So I tried to open ports 88 and 443 and try again, but the same thing keeps happening. If anybody has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know, thanks.I ran Disk Utility and repaired permissions with the following results:

MacBook Pro froze during software update, now it's stuck at gray screen
My MacBook Pro was running a little slow today so I did a Disk Utility repair and that went fine then I did a software update (OS X, Java and remote desktop) but it froze during the last ten percent of the update install and now when I boot up it won't get past the gray apple screen. I tried to restore Lion but since I bought this used my Apple ID wasn't used to purchase Lion so I can't do a restore.
I've tried to safe boot and boot from a CD but no go.
I also tried the short and long Apple hardware tests and those found no problemsIn case anyone else needs an answer to this, I called in to Apple. Tech support said to power it off and let it reboot itself. I had to go back into updates and tell it to finish the install (restart computer, was the only step remaining) and it worked fine. It took longer because it had gotten hung up during the previous restart. ( Just to clarify, I was stuck on the grey screen after the restart step of the install.)

Lenovo 3000 n200 0769 BRG
As per the title my laptop froze during a bios update, I now have a €300 paper weight.
When turning on the fan spins, the cd tray works, but the screen stays blank and only a single power light stays on. I tried starting the machine with no RAM inserted to see if the bios would beep. It didnt.
I think i need to reset the CMOS and in another thread there were instructions as follows " two exposed metal traces labelled CLRP1. You need to short those traces together for a few seconds."
I can get to the traces CLRP1, but it doesnt work.
Could someone please verify how to short those? What do you actually do?
I lightly pushed a flat head Metal screwdriver on the traces, also tried a paperclip, other screwdrives, and basically everything metal.
Could someone clarify what needs to be done? Thanks so muchIf the bios is corrupted, yes, it may be bricked.
Search the web and these forums for "phoenix bios recovery"
there may be some hope. I have never tried any of the solutions
I have found about a Bios recovery disk.
The solution for a bios "hard reset" on my N100 was to dis-assemble
it to the point where I could short the leads of the bios backup battery
for about 5 seconds. The bios on mine was not corrupted, though.
Find the Hardware Maintenance Manual for your laptop model HERE
and look for how to remove the top cover. The battery is probably
on the bottom of the motherboard. A bit tedious and complicated
if you are doing something like this for the first time.
