My iphone 5 no longer shows up as a device in itunes, iphoto or image capture when I plug it into the USB port. The ports are working with other devices and the phone charges when it is plugged into the charger. All software is up to date on computer and phone.

Hi Why do you need to use a PC since iOS 7 you can download updates Apps everything Over wifi I have iPhone 5 s & 2 ipads in over a year I have never connected them to My Apple pc Try a wifi update If you have problems Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both Down until You see Apple Logo you will not last any data. How come I can't sync by wi-fi? My iPhone doesn't show up as a Device in iTunes unless it's connected by USB cable. "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" is checked in iTunes. (I can sync ONLY by USB cable--ironic because I won't upgrade to Mavericks until it allows USB local syncing.) What am I missing?

Is your iPhone plugged in to a charger? I believe that is a requirement for WiFi sync.

Maybe you're referring to the fact that iCloud is the sync mechanism for Contacts and Calendars now. If not, I don't understand your comment.

Ipod touch no longer showing up as a device in itunes

My ipod touch (4th gen) is no longer visible as a device in iTunes. This is a new development (it was fine the last time I connected my iPod to my PC about three weeks ago). When I plug it into the PC (directly into a PC USB port) the PC beeps (confirming connection) and the device shows up in Windows explorer. But the device is no longer recognized in iTunes (I have version 11.3.0.54). Any help/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:

- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

My iPhone 5s wont show up as a device in itunes

It is a new replacement phone with my sim card in it but no data on it. when I plug it into my computer itunes will not open but the computer says its charging and it registers as a device on the computer. In itunes it will not come up as a device. I do not want to reinstall itunes as I have music that isn't saved to icloud in my library that I don't want t lose. My connector cable is not an apple product but has worked with my previous iphone 5s (showed up as a device and synced yesterday). If someone could help me I would be so grateful. Also I'm using windows 8.1 and have upgraded to the newest version of itunes.

Right-click the Apple Mobile Device entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver Software.
Select "Browse my computer for driver software."
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
Click the Have Disk button. Note: If the Have Disk option is not present, choose a device category such as Mobile Phone or Storage Device if listed, and then click next. The Have Disk button should then appear.
Click the Browse button and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
Double-click the "usbaapl" file. (This file will be called "usbaapl64" if you have a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't see "usbaapl64" here, or if there is no Drivers folder, look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. instead).
Click Open in the Have Disk window. Then, click Next and then Click Finish. Windows will install the driver.

I just downloaded iTunes and plugged in my iPhone 4s to my computer. My music from my phone shows up in iTunes, but it does not show my device. I'm trying to download music from my computer, but I cant without transferring it to the device. I hope this makes sense... PLEASE HELP

You have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer ? By 'music from phone shows up in iTunes' do you mean that you've also downloaded the music that you have on your phone from the store on your computer's iTunes, or that on your computer's iTunes you can see what music is stored on your phone ?

For some reason (and I don't think it's the USB connection... I've tried two) by iPhone no longer shows up in the iTunes window when I connect it to my MBP. Consequently, I can't update my Address Book, or anything like that.
Does anyone know what I can do to correct this? I've tried restarting the phone (a 3G, by the way, running the new OS)

If you move and rename the the iTunes folder you won't see any music in iTunes the next time you launch it. You can quit iTunes and rename it then put it back or leave it and launch iTunes while holding Option to choose the location of the iTunes library.

IPhone no longer shows up as a hard disk for photo transfer

When I used to plug in my iPhone it would show up in the My Computer page as an external disk. If I clicked through the folders I could easily move pics from my phone to the computer. I had already shut off the auto open feature of the program select.
Not sure why my iPhone no longer shows up. It shows up fine with iTunes

The iPhone won't work as an external disk, never has, by default. It will show up in iTunes, it is supposed to there, but not on your desktop.
Are you thinking of an iPod Touch, maybe? Maybe you have a phone that was tampered with, maybe?
There are third party apps that might do what you are talking about.

My MacBook Pro no longer shows up on my devices how do I add it back

My MacBookPro no longer shows up on my devices that is associated with my AppleId. Any suggestions? I did go to ITunes and follow the instructions on how to add and delete but it is not giving me the option to add. Just had new hard drive installed and restored from time capsule without any other issues.
Operating system is 10.9.4., Processor 2.7 Ghz Intel Core 17, Memory 16 GB, 1333 MHz DDR3, Storage 526.65 Free out of 999.35 GB. and I did not update to OS X Yosemite. (Because I've heard negative things about IPhoto and I'm working on several photobooks right now.
Not sure if any of the information about my laptop is needed or useful, but thought it may be so am trying to be helpful.

When you say associated devices - are you referring to authorized devices within iTunes (i.e. devices that are able to access your iTunes account)? Or do you mean your registered devices when you log into your Apple ID on Apple's website?
